I can "read" people and feel people's "energy"...

I am looking for someone who has experience with similar abilities that I have.  I can read people and can pick up their energy,like electricity.  Are these unique abilities or could to cultivated into beneficial gifts?  Please read my profile.   I am seeking feedback on this.

I can do this too, especially with people that I am close to, but sometimes when I am feeling a certain way I can pick up on the energy of strangers as well.

I think that we all have these abilities, but we frequently suppress them.  Once you are open to it, I think it comes more and more easily.  So just keep being open, I feel like I am more and more able to read people.

I think that the answer to your question as to whether everyone can do this, or it is a unique gift, if yes :)

I think we all have this ability, but just like the ability to run fast or do math in your head, we have this to varying abilities. I’d say, from your description of your gift, you are “olympic class” in your skill with this gift.

Personally, I am about average in this. All of us have the ability to get a “gut feel” when we meet someone. We have all met people that the moment we see them, we have a warm and positive feeling about them, that transcends anythinig we could have physically sensed. Conversely, we’ve all met people that may be attractive and well groomed, but made your skin crawl the minute you meet them. I believe that when we meet someone, there is a great deal of psychic communication that takes place immediately. Most of us are only vaguely aware of this, and are only able to percieve a vauge gut feeling, which we may or may not even acknowledge. It would seem that you are much more talented here than most, and actually have conscious awareness of this subconscious communication. I think that you should embrace it, and continue to try to refine this beautiful gift.

A few years ago I had a girlfriend that was that was very gifted. She could see auras, and what was really “freaky” was that she could tell when I was thinking about her. When she first told me this I was skeptical, so I asked her if I could test her. That night I was putting my son to bed, and tried to think about her, but my son was distracting me a lot, but finally he fell asleep, and I was able to concentrate on her for a few minutes. She called me the next day and said she could feel a vague “thoughtform” from about 10:05 to 10:20, then felt a strong one for about 15 minutes after that. It was right on the time I was thinking of her.

Have you always had this gift as strong as you do today, or did it develop later in life? If later, was there any life event that triggered it?

You have the potential to be a great healer if you can develop the skill to facilitate peoples awareness of where their energy is blocked and help them release it.

My best friend has this ability. With everyone she meets, she's able to perfectly read people. For a long time I just thought she was judgmental until it became almost freaky how accurate many of her judgements were. She also has this ability with animals.
I think there have been many signs in her life that there's something special about her. Within the last few years, an odd instance occurred, where she began to experience SLI (street light interference, if anyone is familiar  with this.)
 She's not a spiritual person at all, and everything outside of her physical comprehension scares her to no end. She's a very lost girl with many personal problems. I'm hoping one day she really harnesses this power she has and uses it towards something in her (very unclear) future. I just wonder what's gonna finally be the kick for her, and how many more signs she needs until it finally motivates her to get started on some personal growth…
Any suggestions on how to get her at all interested in really investigating these abilities she has?

I have experiences/abilities in this area. I'm strongly intuitive about what people are not saying. As a child, I saw and sensed spirits.

Also, I have had about a dozen experiences of animals, usually dogs, coming to me and expressing fear that they are dying. Each time, the animal passed within a year. Now I am helping one of my own dogs  through this journey.

I can relate to this, I can feel energies and thoughts of people as well as animals. it's difficult going to a crowded place like a food court or a movie theater, so many people experiencing so many things, thinking different things, it's so overwhelming I get an upset stomach sometimes!

Hello Mitzi!

As you begin to increase your awareness and raise your level of consciousness, these “abilities” will become more enhanced. Yes, everyone has this capability; however few of us learn to understand it or to control it in a way that will protect us. There are a few essential points to recognize.

There is a clear difference between helping someone to release an energy block, and absorbing it for them. Until you are able to maintain a high frequency of energy on your own, consciously, you run the risk of taking on other's negative blocks. This is where the distinct difference between judgement and discernment comes in. You must be able to discern what is appropriate for your level of awareness. 

As you become more comfortable with your ability to release blocks as well as protect yourself from being “dragged down,” you will find that your touch may be enough to release an individual's headache, sore throat or stomach pain (the most common areas of blocked energy). Again, make certain you are able to protect yourself from absorbing their energy. 

I do not believe in any specific training to encourage this “ability.” You must give intent to your own increasing consciousness and begin to have a clear recognition of your frequency. As with all disciplines, practice practice practice. :-)

Hey Emily, I just read your post and I feel really interested in talking to you about this issue. I dont have any idea of what is going on, I had this sensation that i can read peoples energies and its driving me crazy…i feel like a weight on my back (mostly in my shoulders area) when i get in contact with people, i can even look at peoples eyes because i feel like i am absorbing something, i feel when people like me i kind of know when people is suffering from the inside, I dont know how to explain this, I just not get along with a lot of people because most of them are sick from their souls and that energy makes me tired to the point that i am avoiding being around people…please help me to understand this situation …thanks

Seems like a lot of people have this ability. Because I do as well! Just like some of the others. I too have had experiences with ghosts as a child. And when I meet someone I can tell if they are a genuinely good person or not. Every time my friends meet someone new, I can tell whether they are trust worthy or not. Granted, im not 100%. A few fakers have slipped by me. But for the most part I can sense danger. Or if someone is evil or genuine. it's creepy, and my friends don't believe me until later, (one of my friends lives by it when it comes to boyfriends for her) but it's useful in this sketchy world

I have shifted vibrations 5 times within the past year and with each shift a new ability shows up and the others seem to fall away. 
I would look into doing energy healing of some sort.  I have been doing Reiki, Shambala Reiki (picking up past life info), and now Rainbow energy healing.  It has helped me grow spiritually, connect to the Universal Life Force, and help others in the process. 
I am not bragging, seriously, but I have gone from…feeling negative energy spots on others, sensing their feelings in public (when close), picking up past life (movies) while healing, talking to those who have past over, talking with earth-bound spirits and helping them cross over, feeling what the other is feeling IN their body in the past life, picking up psychic attacks, chasing out low level demons and energy “bottom feeders”, to sensing the energy (emotions) of people within a one mile radius.  The last shift also caused me to feel nauseous in a movie theater and I had to leave, it was too overwhelming. I learning to put up a type of two way mirror cylinder around me, so I could sense and send positive energy, but any negative energy would bounce off the mirror.  It has worked great.
DEFINATELY look into how to work with your chakras (your 7 energy centers).

oh i am still struggling to deflect negative energy.. it does knock me off my feet, whether infuriating me or depressing me. sometimes it gets so bad that i do not want to leave the wallowing pit of negativity. but i always rebound, because the light and love both within me and within my friends, both in reality and here, won't let me fall to rock bottom.

Unfortunately the world today has produced way too many souls that are slave to a negative mind. My compassion flows to them for their suffering is really uneccesary. A teacher of mine once suggested that they are new souls and must go through this to be able to evolve. Negativity doesn't seem to affect me much at all anymore, I mostly respond to with the thought of “Thank you for showing me how I don't want to be”. We all have the ability to be negative, some actually enjoy it. Myself, I prefer to function from a place of love and compassion.  Namaste' _/\_

I think reading people's energy can help you empathize with them.  One just needs to be careful not to assume another's energy as one's own or project one's own energy onto others, particularly if that energy is negative.

You may all already know of this book but, if not, it could be really helpful for those of you who have been able to clearly access your energetic healing abilities. I'm about 1/2way through “Energy Medicine” by Donna Eden and it's very inspiring and practical in terms of the simplicity of the techniques she teaches. Obviously it would be most helpful to have an actual course or seminar w/ her but the book is a great start!

Morning Mitzi :) I agree, I believe that people have the ability to “read” energy at varying degrees. I have been very fortunate to have this gift granted to me. I work to refine my abilities and request them, as a healer, every day. It is very “real” and also very beautiful. I think, like a “few” people I know, I ran away from the gift, for a very long time…. honestly, sometimes, I still do. I laugh at myself sometimes because energy is energy. Where am I going to hide from it? I laugh as I write this… As long as I personally, stay out of the “story” and I do  “download” the story, timing is of no matter… I focus on just sending loving light, that is my part. Enjoy!

I think i can do this too but only some times.  Sadly my meds tend to suppress the energy and the feelings at times.  I am very much open to it and as Christine said my ability did increase over time.

Wow i didnt know there were so many people that were able to feel this. I as well have always felt i had that had something extra but never thought anything to it until one day i met this girl who told me she had the similar things happen to her. she said that her father had past away how ever strange stuff would happened to her in her house and there was alot or energy in her home and that I should see if i feel any thing. I went to her house and i was overwhelmed with this energy feeling that i had never felt as strong before. I was able to pin point out spots no bigger the 12”x12” where i could feel energy. after that day we had a strange bond for a while where we could communicate to each other with out any contact almost like we were in each others head. It almost seems that be cause i was in contact with her who has similar abilities that both of ours abilities became stronger. My abilities i guess i would call it kept growing  to the point where i would suffer from anxiety because i was feeling was to much energy. i couldn't do much. i couldn't really be around anything old like a old house i couldn't walk past it or the museum or such. it got to the point were i started seeing things and since then i have tried to suppress it until i found out how to deal with it. I will say that any kind of medication will desensitize or decrease it to the point where you don't feel anything.

this is my first thread…im not sure ill ever figure out how to get back here to see all of your answers, but hopefully i'll figure it out. i was having an out of body experience and saw bright VIVID colors…some were green some were violet and they were all circles connected together like little stamps and inside the stamp was a six point star, like the star of david. and then in the lowest part of the male mody i saw red and i vaguely remember some type of symbol in those red circles as well. the next day i explained what i saw to a friend of mine who has achieved a great level of conciousness in the past few years..and he showed me the chakras. it blew my mind…is anyone making a connection here?

I've met only one other person that has abilities as strong as I feel mine are. I don't judge, rather I can read whether a person is being honest or dishonest and it is very obvious to me. I also feel vibes from people in the room it's crazy. Not at simple as tension in the room, but if someone wants to speak to me or if someone's upset but showing no signs. Also, I can see right through people if they're putting on facades to hide their moods/emotions. The one other person was an ex of mine.. his abilities were like very abnormal. He could tell when something was bothering me the second I walked in the door. Also, the oddest thing that ever happened was when we broke up I drove past his house a few weeks later because I was planning on talking to him. About 2 hours later he texted me and told me he wanted to talk to me too and I should have stopped. Creepiest thing because he said he honestly didn't see me drive by and we don't have mutual friends!

you are not the only one! i agree with steve, we all have the ability to do this, I don't know what level mine is, but i am pretty strong, and if i focuse i can read anyone. I also some times have visions, usually when I sleep, clairvoyant. any thoughts on this?

Though Emmy said “i do not believe in any specific training to encourage this “ability.” You must give intent to your own increasing consciousness and begin to have a clear recognition of your frequency,” I somehow need to believe that there are methods of training this ability (just like we can train for a sport or study for an academic subject) because I would greatly like to further develop my own intuitive skill. I have been using various techniques as a form of practice but I'm still very much at the beginner's level. I know that the skills can improve since I started off as a completely “unfeeling” person with absolutely no ability whatsoever to a vague gut feeling that is most often accurate.
Would anyone be able to provide me with information and/or advice on how to improve these skills and reach the level many of your have been granted naturally?

I have something somewhat similar. I can read people's feelings. I can tell by the look on people's faces what they are thinking. And to me it's like, so obvious and easy to tell what they are thinking or feeling, that i feel like everyone should be able to too. awkward, but it helps me communicate with people. so i know what not to talk about and what to talk about.

Second, I have the same issues as most of you. If you believe in numerology at all, I am a Master Number 33, which supposedly means I am a master healer.  I have a lot of tension headaches, which i think has to do with me absorbing negative energies from others…because i am a very relaxed person and many things do not bother me.  I currently work in a school with emotionally disturbed kids and this is when i started to relize i am a healer.  All the kids gravitate towards me, lean on me, want me to hug them and tell me all their problems.  I absorb their negative energy into me.  Its so draining to me…and i am starting to “block” them, but i am not really helping them like i used to.  I don't know how to help them without taking on their neg energy.

hello everyone 

yes - this ability is inherent within each of us - some have developed it more and some have yet to - some are born with it already - others develop it over time and in different ways - but it is a 'natural' part of being human - that we have never been 'taught' about it - has been because it has been termed 'occult' and 'kept' from public knowledge and understanding 

its a sense if you like - a 'knowing' or 'feeling' - a gut feeling and intuitive sensing - and its part of our extended senses 

little children often have it only their brains haven't the cognitive abilities to understand what they are sensing/feeling - some have called it telempathic ability and I have been taught that it is the first form of language for all life forms - in that this ability gives us the ability to commune with nature in all her many forms, animal - vegetable - mineral 

human beings of course live in two worlds in  a sense - the public world of form (the world outside) and the private world of the inner life - here many things are hidden - not spoken but felt - its these feelings that radiate outwards as a frequency that we all pick up on to some degree - we all know the feeling when we meet someone - whether we like them or not - from a feeling - 

if you can realise that the most powerful electromagentic force emanating from the body is actually the heart - then realise that we are all working round in each others heart energy - which is  of course our feelings centre - thus every day we are 'picking' up frequencies thoughts, feelings etc from every where - this would be overwhelming if we could't somehow 'control' it so we block it out unconsciously 

but we all have the ability to sense the 'truth' of a person - the light of a person and the dark of person - we do this without fully knowing what it is we are doing or what it is or why we are feeling the way we do as our world has rationalised itself out of knowing much about its self or its potential 

one of the better book I have read on the subject was a couple of decades ago by Barbra Anne Brenan - called healing hands of light 

there is a thing called 'transference' which some one mentioned - this is when a 'sensitive' as some would call you - can unconsciously or inadvertently mimic the pain of another - this is not taking the disease or pain on for real as such but its felt - sometimes in spirit when people come close you might feel pain in the chest if the died from heart attack its not that you yourself are going to have a heart attack - its simply a sort of projection and can be easily cleared by talking about it with the person or silently thanking them for showing you 

this ability transcends time and space also - and so can be used to 'peer' into the future or get guidance from source - the old saying ask an you shall receive is very appropriate here - simply ask to be shown/taught what this means for you and what can you do with it to be of service - I feel to start with your own family - and willing friends - for now you are on a journey of discovery and trust what feedback you get 

if the palms of  your hands tingle - that is a signal that your chi energy is activating for healing purposes and you can start 'healing' others by placing your hands on them or whatever you 'feel' guided to do -
