During President Obama’s recent trip to Mexico (April 16, 2009)… 

Barack Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archaeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to the Swine Flu… 

Clearly, if the man died the next day, he was highly contagious when Obama met him, and could have infected Obama easily.  

That, it appears, he didn’t infect Obama could just be a matter of luck for Obama?

“I fully expect we will see deaths from this infection,” said Richard Besser, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
 
Besser said the U.S. has 64 confirmed cases across five states, with 45 in New York, one in Ohio, two in Kansas, six in Texas and 10 in California.
 
New York has the largest number of swine flu cases, with a heavy concentration at a Catholic school in Queens section of New York City, where students recently went on a spring break trip to Mexico.
 
President Obama's request for $1.5 billion in emergency funds would help build drug stockpiles and monitor future cases as well as help international efforts.
 
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said « the flu outbreak requires ”prudent planning” and NOT PANIC. »

Yes - the first swine flu conspiracy theories are hitting the Internet.
 
Evidence: The flu virus is reported to combine “genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before.”

Implication: the virus was probably deliberately released.

Evidence:  ”In all U.S. cases, the victims had no contact with any pigs.” 

Implication: Pigs are evil… or they caught it from other people… or pigs never had anything to do with it.

facts… just to put new members in fear.  The environment isn't as
dangerous as the media lets out. It sounds bogus to me.  I believe that the more we all put out goodness the sooner others
on the planet we share will tip the ratio to more good.  What do we

Have you seen the way Presidents travel around Washington D.C. ?
 
I would think it’s pretty near impossible for a gunman to get to Obama (unless it is someone already around him who has a gun– a guard losing it type thing.)
 
But sophisticated planners, who can do the hit through a third person who will have the virus and will be able to pass through security, while the real perpetrators are not even at the scene, that could only be executed by very serious players.
 
Keep this in mind.
 
The population of Mexico City, where Obama was greeted by Solis (please see original post), is roughly 8.8 million people.
 
If we assume all the 1,000 reported cases of the flu in Mexico are in Mexico City, the odds of any specific person in Mexico City having the virus is .0125%.
 
Is this Solis guy still highly contagious?
 
If anyone is highly contagious…

How often can one feel righteous about eating pork? 

If “YES WE DID”, and I’ve declared my personal support for President Obama. 

Now would be a perfect excuse to declare personal “SUPPORT PORK WEEK.” 

DAY 1 - You can start with bacon for breakfast on day one. 

DAY 2 - you can have a ham sandwich at lunch.  

DAY 3 - Sausage and peppers and onions for dinner on day three.  

DAY 4 - Then you can take the leftovers and eat them for breakfast on day four.  
DAY 5 - For lunch you can eat one of those awesome Vietnamese sandwiches. 

DAY 6 - I think a pork liver pâté as an hors d’oeuvre on day six.  

DAY 7 - On day seven, I’d do something like proscuitto and eggs for breakfast.

Calling Barack Obama a ”black” man however brings up age old racism which defeats the purpose of a post-racial politics. 
 
Then again, being objective about President Obama's biracial heritage presents an opportunity to look into the idea of race as a fixed identity.

You’re a major on the conspiracy theory aren’t you Lou. Swine flu is a virus like the cold. In fact it’s a strand that is only contagious in swine and humans that are in direct contact with them so it’s doubtable that you would use it as a bio-weapon. Also there is a new strand of swine flu that infects humans so there is no true way to prevent or cure it. I might add that the symptoms for swine flu are so similar to the common flu virus that they are easily mistaken.Besides what dose Mexico have against are president? He hasn’t done anything to provoke an assassination yet. Unless there just racist. That’s a different matter there.

This new virus is not “swine flu” it is a new strain of influenza virus which has some genetic strains similar to those found in swine and it has some human strains.  It travels easily from human to human and it can make you very sick.  It is not a “killier virus” though the mainstream media outlets (run by the corporations etc.) would have liked to make you live in fear (that's what they are supposed to do… when you live in fear, you love god and yourself less) of this virus so that you will be willing to have your lives controlled.

The virus appears to have appeared just as Obama was in Mexico and many conspiracy theorists could surmise that this was a plot to kill him.  Perhaps if you theorists would look up the “Obama Deception” on the web and watch that video you would understand that Obama is merely one more cog in a wheel that has little to do with the true spiritual growth we must awaken to in order to bring about the ascension of our planet.

In the mean-time… get some hand sterilizer and keep it in your car.  Use it any time you go into a public place before you touch your face with those hands.  Every time you shake hands etc.  And stop fearing!  Love yourself and this world because this world is like a lover who has been neglected in her bower bed for too long.

I agree with samiyam. Show no fear. The media just loves fear. The only issue I have is that (and I speak from experience) if you use hand sanitizers all the time and then just stop using it in three to five days you’ll get really sick. Me and a few of my friends tried this experiment and we were sick for a week with a very nasty virus. Moral of the story, use the sanitizers but don’t use them overabundant.

News stories play fast and loose with terms like:

and “pandemic.”  
 
They are not interchangeable. 
 
The bottom line is we do not have near all the facts yet, and the ones we do have so far say: don’t panic, don’t rush to judgment.

While I'm not a complete vegetarian (I only eat animals which eat vegetables), I do believe that we humans need to get our proteins from more vegetable sources and stop these huge and cruel animal factory production “farms” which treat the Earth and our fellow creatures with cruelty and lack honest balance in dealing with our fellow creatures.

It is our fault that there are problems like “Swine Flu/Avian Flu” and “Mad Cow Disease”.  It is our fault that much of the sea life is dying off and we're short of fish in our markets.  We need to stop eating so much meat.  More than two meals a week is bad for our health and bad for the health of the planet.

I'm not a Vegan and I don't subscribe to the philosophy.  I see it as being as out of balance as those who eat big slabs of flesh each day.  But I will say that I am in abhorrence of what is happening with our “farms” right now.

(oh… and just to be a “Nudge” it is the cow-pox which the cows gave their milk-maids which showed Dr. Jenner that those who got cow-pox were immune to small-pox and started the first “vaccines”.  We can thank their kindness in helping us treat a scourge.  We can thank them by treating them kindly and doing away with factory dairies which treat the cows poorly and hurt them so much that we need to treat them with anti-biotics to keep them free from disease.  Bring back the milk-maid!  Let the cows breathe fresh air!  Give them fresh grass!)

Ok I’m not Vegan but I think that we should only eat what we ourselves can catch. Eating only animals like cows, pigs chickens is just wrong. Besides a lot of the meat is wasted because people don’t buy it. Besides if you’ve tasted coon or horse you’d know that they chose the animals they chose to be eaten not because of the taste. May be this is the revenge of the livestock. Or just a strange new virus. I don’t know. All I do know is that the media blows this kind of stuff way out of proportion.
