Our Friend KDub Could Use a BIG Hug

~C4Chaos said Jul 31, 2006, 11:38 PM:

Get well soon, dear mentor. Will pray for you over here… Godspeed.

via Things That Go Bump in the Night

Dear Friends,

I have some extremely unfortunate news to report concerning an incident that happened late last Sunday night (July 23rd). The following letter—written by Ken to the I-I managers—explains a series of unfortunate accidents that have left him not that much far removed from functionally quadriplegic. Without assistance, he can’t stand up, walk around, sit down, lie down or any other of the 100 simplest actions. We believe that he will make a recovery but we expect it to take six months to a year. The following e-mail is self-explanatory, and is the very first thing he wrote about his situation. You will see the humor and wit and Lightness with which he carries even these difficult things. Please stay tuned to the site, and we will give you more of the medical facts as they become available. But we wanted to rush this early announcement as soon as we possibly could. Below the letter you will see that we have included five photographs of his pretty badly smashed up body.

Some people have wanted to know if they can get Ken presents or make some sort of contribution in his name to a charity. Ken has requested that if you are not a member of Integral Institute, please become one and if you already are please make as many gift memberships for your friends as you can. Click this link to Join I-I.

Ouch!

I send healing thoughts to Ken and trust he is in the loving and caring hands of those closest to him.  In his pictures he looks strong both physically and in spirit.  This is encouraging.  May his recovery be swift and sure!

 Much Love,

Jason

Ouch!

Dood!!! Watch your step!!

Although the face took a beating, thankfully the fashion photographers can still use your body…except for that damn purple (!) spot. (bigger than a dog. you're a funny man.)

In my thoughts. Get better.

Ken, we love you here at Zaadz, sometimes more and sometimes only slightly less than Buddha or Jesus!

That's a lot of love, or else worship and veneration, which is like love but involves more statues, altars and bowing - which I guess we could do for you, though that hardly seems useful right now. Besides, you're not a guru anyway;) So, if I ever have the honor of meeting you I'll give you a big hug instead of a bundle of smoking incense, being sure to avoid that big purple puppy on your side.

For right now I'll just join Integral University.

I wish you a speedy recovery with lots of flowers.

Love & Love,

Jessica

Ken,

Having experienced the grace and grit with Treya and knowing so well the purpose and meaning of disease, illness and sickness, you’ve been there and you know it better than anyone else. Autoimmunity and CFIDS, unlike cancer, implies the body turning against the self and it often reflects a temporary shift of your inner ‘daemon’ to demons and just a detour on the path.

Remember Hippocrates and his wise saying: “Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.”

With you strong body, mind and spirit, we know and believe that your recovery is just a matter of time, and you can use the ‘down time’ to do/are what you do/are best. Wishing you to make the best of this experience and opportunity and Godspeed in being at your best again.

Thank you for teaching us the invaluable lessons of healing and transcending. You are always already healed, never mind the ‘purple puppy’ and the ‘ugly drapes’. Enjoy the biggest tattoo you ever got and let your sense of humor fly as you always do so wonderfully!

And since the greatest healing therapy is friendship and love, immerse yourself virtually and literally in all the healing energy, prayers and love that we are sending your way from zaadz, II and beyond.

Take Joy & Courage in Healing here and now,
Darina

I often feel “called” (don't know if that is the right word) to cook for people in moments such as these. for when the pain is almost intolerably distracting, many times a solid meal prepared with love, care and intimate attention can sooth even the meanest of afflictions, if but for a moment.

nonetheless, brief or not, this moment of reprieve is a window through which we are invited to gaze, demonstrating the nature of impermanence in a way; including the pleasure of that very meal which itself passes into obscurity. but the transferrence of energies is preparing food for another is undeniable - never forget the EFFLUVIA FOLKS! (anyone been around Integral Naked long enough to remember that dialogue?) it's like placing healing hands directly into the other, an exchange of intention through corporeal clusters.

man, someone cook the brother a bowl of soup! like today!

if i could get it through customs, and have it still hot off the stove, i surely would. but i suppose that the distance we're dealing with here is more than slightly prohibitive. clint? rollie? are you up for the task? i'll send recipes if that'll make it easier……

(ken! i would still like to get the avocado soup recipe that you'd bragged about! you show me yours, i'll show you mine…….)

mad love,

~chef

I had the same response! !

My husband always teases me that whenever anything happens I get out my soup pot.  It's true.

I'm glad it's not just me having these urges.  I was ready to chalk it up to my high levels of mothering hormones

I even contacted Clint and threatened to come there with my soup pot and satchel. ( I have a bag packed, and I will go motherlove on your asses if need be!)

You'd better post some pics soon of kw in a fluffy (of course!) bathrobe sipping tea (not diet coke!) and eating some soup.

The world is watching.
