What kind of content are you having trouble creating?

Hi Aham Prema,
Welcome to Gaia.  I would like to help out Matthew answer some of your questions.  Please reply if some of the ideas I will list here still does not apply so that Matthew or ~C4Chaos can take over.

I looked at your Gaia profile page and was led to your Aham Prema website.  I saw that you have a MySpace account, Still Revival blog in blogspot and Aham Prema blog again in blogspot.  I saw that you have a blog widget of your blog contents from your blog in blogspot.  The widget is from your account in feedburner.  So that shows me that you have an experience in creating and posting a widget.  But some sites have an easier and direct posting of widget in sites like MySpace or Facebook.  So I believe you want to do the same in your profile page here in Gaia and they do not have a direct way of doing that.  That is okay, you can do it yourself and it is easy once you get the hang of it.
First off, my instructions will be for Windows OS and Gaia recommends using Firefox as your browser.  There is a new version that you can download now, Firefox 3.  If you are using Mac, post that in your reply and somebody else can step in.  I do not have a Mac yet.  Using FF browser, you should have several tabs open and will be jumping back and forth from tab to tab working on this.

Since you already have a widget in myspace from feedburner (FB), you must have the “embed code” for that particular widget in FB.  Be sure to copy the embed code that you can embed at any website.  If it says embed this code for Myspace or any “particular” site then that embed code will only work for that particular site.  I am not familiar with feedburner embed codes. ( If they do not have that option where you can have an embed code that you can embed anywhere then go to Instructions B1.)

A1.  Copy the embed code of your widget from feedburner.
A2.  Open a new tab for your Gaia profile page.
A3.  Disable javascript by clicking on TOOLS in the main menu,   then click on OPTIONS,  then on the Options box on the CONTENTS tab, “unchecked”  Enable Javascript, click OK
A4.  Click Reload button to reload the current page which is your Gaia profile page.
A5.  Click on “Update my profile”.  You will notice that inside your “About Me” box that it is in the HTML format
A6.  Place your cursor where you want to have the widget appear in your profile.  Paste the embed code by right-clicking then “paste”.  Or just press Ctrl and then v (same as paste).  Copy Ctrl and c.  (In Mac it is Apple + c for copy and Apple + v for paste - that's as far as I know).
A7.  Click to update your profile.  Check the results.  If you do not like the placement, adjust.  If the widget goes out of the width of the profile page, open up the profile page again for editing (go to A8).
A8.  Change the “width” parameter number.  The width of the Gaia profile page is about “365”, more than any embedded object will go out of the profile page.

B1.  You can choose another site to make your blog widget that you can post in your Gaia profile.  One such site is Widgetbox, here is the URL  http://www.widgetbox.com/make_blidget.jsp
B2.  The blog url you will put in the box will be the one that you can get from the “Posts(Atom)” link in case of your Still Revival blog
http://stillrevival.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
In other blogs, look for this image,
http://gustavus.edu/xml/rssicon.png  place your cursor on an image like that on your own blog anywhere that you want to make a widget of, then right-click, then “copy link location” and that will be the one you will paste in that box in widgetbox to start making your own blog widget.
B3.  Follow the directions and change appearance as you wish.
B4.  When your done making your blog widget, copy the embed code that you can embed anywhere at any site.
B5.  Once you have copied the embed code, follow Instructions A2 and so on.

More notes to keep in mind:
1.  In order for the embed code to work, you must “disable javascript” before pasting.
2.  When the blog widget is successfully working in your profile page, turn the “enable javascript” again.
3.  If you want to edit your profile page (or blog and pods here in Gaia) again with an embedded code in it, “disable javascript” first, reload the page, then open to edit.
4.  If you accidentally open your profile page or blog with an embedded code in it, just click on the Back button.
5.  IMPORTANT: If you have successfully paste any embed code and it works properly, “copy” the whole codes inside your “About me” of your profile page and “paste” that in a document program and save.  When things get messy in the future, you can copy the code from your saved document and paste that in your profile page again.
6.  If you want your blog widget “centered”, type this in the beginning of your embed code
<center>   and this next one at the end of the code
</center>

A lot to read but when you get the hang of it, it is easy.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Samme

P.S.  You have great blog contents from your other sites.  I enjoyed reading them.  We love to have you here.
