Are you talking about this blog?  The links there seem to be opening fine for me.  Only one of them points to a gaia page, as far as I can tell.  This one.  Does that link open ok for you?

while we at it, the friends links under new blog entries and activities is very slow to open…has been acting like that for a couple of days…sometimes it won't open at all…

and Gia's activities posts do not show up on my page or her own page for activities…I told her about it a day or so ago and suggested she tell you about the prob…

Also, Starlight, those links on albert's blog lead to pages outside of gaia.  So, any troubles opening them would be on that website's end instead of ours.  Unfortunately, I can't do anything to fix the other site…

CAN'T START NEW THREADs ????
Help Needed- can;t post a new thread -so am using this one in the hope i will be seen!
Every time I try to start a new thread -be it on my pods- or even
here -Internet Explorer comes up telling me I have encountered a problem
and shuts down the page?
Please help -and don't tell me to change as I am happy with IE
everywhere else!!

Also, you can find the version number of IE by going to File > About.  It should be 7.something or 8.something.

Ooops yes it's  IE 8

and I can't get a sceen shot of the error page -as it totally freezes up
on me and can't do anything except close down the page….
I have tried.

I'll let the developers know about this.  And if they can duplicate the issue, then we should be able to fix it.  But can you get me the full version number?  The “something” part in 8.something…

Thanks Matthew- am just off on Hols for 5 days -
so if not fixed by then I shall get back to you as soon as I get back.
Please not this is also happening when I try to edit a post I have made too.
When Internet Exporer comes up and tells me there is an error on the page-
it freezes everything and all I can do is close the page -nothing else works….

Oh, sorry for the delayed response, Sandy!  Usually the full version number can be found from the “help” menu on the toolbar.  Go to help > about.

Unfortunately, we cannot duplicate this issue on IE8.  So, I'm not sure what could be causing it, but it doesn't appear to be from our end.

Are you just going to LEAVE me without editing options ?

I am wondering if it has something to do with the new sign in system?
I was having trouble signing in when that came into being -
and eventually sucummed and signed in through my Twitter account.
But I have since cancelled doing that as I prefer to keep the seperate
and I didn't like the system of it -wherein signing out of Gaia -
did NOT sign me out of Twitter!

I hope you will not abandon me -as the cultivator of 2 pods -I cannot
work on in this manner- can I ????

Hello Tech Wizards!

I have a couple of things currently happening…I have not been able to post videos for days…these are YouTube videos that should be able to post, but they do not and the icon comes up “Image Not Available”…this is any type of video…

Secondly, if I do a search or click on an icon to see who shares that “interest” for example…nothing, zero, nada, zip!

Hi Starseed!  Yeah, I'm confused about the second issue.  If I go to your profile page and click on “loving,” for example, under your interests, I get this page, which shows me a list of gaia members who share that interest.

Can you point me to where you are clicking, so i can see what you're seeing?

Sandy, I feel for your dilemma. Here's all I can offer: do you have room for more than one browser on your computer? As pod mod, there are things I can do in one browser that I cannot do in another, so to cover all the functionality I want requires two browsers: IE7 and Chrome! Can you go back to IE7? Do you think that would help? Can you put Firefox or Chrome on your computer, and see what they might enable? 

I haven't had sign-in problems on IE7 (which I abandoned long ago because it got into a “script error” loop interaction with Gaia site that was driving me batty, but I use it rarely now when Chrome won't do a mod editing thing that IE7 will still do) or Chrome (which is free, BTW.) 

If you do have to continue to depend on a mod for certain functions, that would not be pleasant, but it might be better than having no ability at all to do those functions. ??

Well I am not putting this inability to start a new thread down to
using IE8 -as I have been doing so for some time.
The problem started after this new way to sign in started (through
Twitter etc) -which I have tried but do not find satisfactory-.

I can copy the IE report but feel that is sharing too much information
about my personal computer.
I do think that Matthew and the “fix it wizards” should be capable of fixing
the problem however?
I am most unhappy about the situation -will keep trying ways to fix it-
but at the end of the day am wondering if I cannot be helped-and am to
be left in limbo over it I should maybe leave?

Hi Sandy,

I sure hope you stick around!

Because we can't re-create the issue, it indicates that it is not on our end.  That means that we can't fix it from here.  However, you and I can keep troubleshooting this to see if we can find a solution.  One suggestion that will probably work is to use a different browser.  Another that might work would be to do a complete re-installation of IE 8 so you have a fresh copy you can work from.  I'm not sure exactly what that would entail, but microsft's website should be of use here.
