Notification subjects and RSS feed titles

I've been meaning to report this for a while, so it's not related to the recent transition….

Two different yet similar issues:

(1) Group digest notification subject lines: I have a group or two that have changed name since I joined them, but my e-mail notifications still have the old name from when I joined between brackets (e.g. in digest mode: the e-mail subject is “[Integral Institute]” instead of the current name “[The Integral Pod]”); and

(2) RSS feed titles: the titles of RSS feeds for discussion groups all start “Zaadz: …”. But here, at least, it does then provide the current name of the group.

Actually, for that first one, I see now that the name doesn't change under Settings / Subscriptions and Notifications / Group Discussions, either, whereas it does change on the “My Groups” page.

Re (1) as far as I know, the Group cultivator or a mod has to ask ~Matthew to get the new name into the system. Provide the URL of the group and old and new names. Dunno why it's not automatic…..

So ~Matthew, consider yourself notified of The Integral Pod name change. :)

But I've got a bunch more groups on my Group Discussions settings page that are old. Here are some pod names from my list that have surely changed:

• Zaadz (not sure which pod this even is)
• myzPro (not sure why this is still in my list of groups, actually; it's not on my “My Groups” page anymore, but now I've deleted it from my group settings, too)
• Is there a God? (now the “God Pod…”)
• Transfomational Media (now “Conscious Media”)
• The Mediation Circle

Thanks for reporting Grey.  Actually, though, the easiest way to set things right is to change the name again.  Ryan put a fix in for this a few weeks ago, but only groups that have been changed since then were affected by the fix.  So, to fix it, you've gotta change the name again (and save it).  If you want the name to stay the same, change it (save) and change it back (save).

And for the Zaadz thing on RSS feeds, no rush. I kinda like seeing some remnants of Zaadz. ;)

Sorry ~Matthew you did tell me about that procedure and I could have passed it along, but I forgot.

I think it works only for pods whose name changed BEFORE we went to Gaia, or only those whose name changed AFTER, but I can't remember which. Or maybe it works for anyone….

I was trying to change the Collective Wisdom name in the notifications, and when I went to make the temporary change I liked it so much I kept it that way (Changing for to of.) So I never found out if the procedure really worked for a double-change.

But you have fewer words to play around with.

The other pods you noted, the Cultivator or Mods will have to take the initiative to make the changes.
