My profile is gone all weird

Help, when I try to get to my profile, there's a big white space and on the sites, the different parts keep moving in and out. iIdidn't do anything out of the ordinary. All of a sudden it was like that.
When I click on other profile's they look ok?
What could be happening?

It looks normal to me using FF 3.0.3

Perhaps if you clean your cache, and reboot your browser
it will appear normal again for you.

Hi! I did all that and it's still not working. I tried it on a different computer and my profile still didn't show up normal, so there must be some other problem.

I checked on my computer using both FF3.0 as well as IE7. Your profile appears beautifully in both browsers, hence there is nothing wrong with the profile page, there is something wrong at your end only.

Well thank you both Eli and LB. I still  don't think there was anything wrong on my side because I did try a another computer like I said, and the same problem showed up. These computers were not connected.  When I clicked on other profiles and pages, like e.g. my blog etc. they were all fine. It was just the profile.
Anyway, I had a good nights sleep and the problem seems to have itself solved miraculously. Isn't life grand!

I am experiencing the same problem right now as a couple of month ago. My profile gone weird.
It's not my computer, it wasn't then (other people had the same thing) so I guess it's not now either.
I use IE 7

Hi Alluvja,

I had to disable your widgets in order to fix your profile.  What that means is that something that someone posted to one of your widgets (like grapevine, or activity, or something) was causing the disturbance.  However, this was only happening on your account's end.  For example, if I looked at your page with IE7, there was no issue.  But if I were to look at it from your account, then it was messed up… but only in IE7. 

So, you'll have to bring your widgets back one at a time to see which one is causing the issue.  It will resolve itself as more people post.  But this appears to be an IE7-only bug.  So, the best solution would be to use a different browser (like Firefox or Safari).

My Profile Page has also gone absolutely weird - was OK this morning - haven't done ANYTHING or changed anything.  ALL of it is running down the extreme right side of the page.

Try deactivating your widgets, like I did with Alluvja's, and see if that fixes the issue.

When I came back, about three hours after you posted your message back to me, everything was fine.  I didn't touch anything, not even the widgets (of which I only use the status anyways).

Little goblins running 'round maybe???  LOL!

The funny thing was that for now it was ok again for just a minute but it didn't show my status, friends- and my activity widgets which i have turned on. When I deactivated that just to see what happened the profile went allweird again.
So something is definetely going loony.

Matthew, so you did that , deactivitating my widgets.  In the settings sections however it looks like they are on , but they do not show on my profile now.
I guess you must be still looking at the issue and I'll get them back when it is fixed?

Over on  the right (in your settings), under “Profile Widgets,” does it say “Deactivate … Widget” or “Show … Widget”?

If the former, then it is currently active; if the latter, then it is currently not active.

I have the same weird profile thing as her going on.  I just de-activated widgets and the page came back just fine.  Except now there's no friends or personal activities on the page.  How do we get those back on?

Hi ~Matthew, Ms. Buttinski here, saying I assume the Team has figured out by now that having the widget display/privacy settings and the widget activations in two different places on the settings page is a subtlety that many of us members are not picking up on, and is causing frequent confusion……

However, being grateful for the widgets, and for all the incredible work the Team does with such dedication. Just registering an experience.

HELP! ! ! My profile  is weird again! And it’s  weekend. Hope there is still someone there to fix it. Seems to happen a lot lately.
Grrr…   I just have to let out a growl ! It’s NOT directed at you team…..ít’s just me feeling  frustrated, (‘cos everything tonite seems to go wrong,)  I know you’re all doing the best you can and that is always appreciated!

My Profile is OK now. I got the follwing message from a friend:
 
“our friend put java in here status – i don’t think she meant harm by it but it did currupt our pages for a bit tonight –
pictures ok — java bad in status area…
when you updated your status it fixed mine by the way because you pushed her status down on my page – another way to resolve the issue is to hide activiy on your page… ”
 
I don’t understand all these technical things myself too well  but could this indeed having been the cause and if so may be it should be announced some more that  people shouldn’t  put stuff in their status all the time that gets other profiles all mixed up, just a suggestion because it happened quite often to me lately and its really ennoying.
 
Hiding activity widget is not such a pleasurable option to me, perhaps an emergency bandage but..

Glad it’s back to normal!  We once disabled that ability, but we got so many complaints that we brought it back.  Hard to know what the right balance is.  I’d suggested opening up a thread on the Think Tank about this and getting the community’s opinion.
