Newbie

Peace, Bothers and sisters,

I am fairly new to Gaia site, even though I joined months ago… I did not participate until now.
I am living in NJ, eight miles over the river from Philly, so that is most of where I find community…
For almost four years I lived in community at Easton Mountain Retreat center in Greenwich New York. Just over a year ago I moved back into the “real” world and just a few months ago I moved back “home” to NJ.
So I am coming out again so to speak, trying to connect with men and women who are conscious of their path and purpose in life.
I am Photographer and Rieiki practitioner, do some erotic massage I learn from sessions with Body Electric. I have heard the call of the Shaman and have practice that path as well. I have allowed myself to explore many spiritual, religious ideas, incorporating them into my everyday life…. or I try to anyway.
I am sure more will come up as I post…
I am Love, jeff

Greetings Jeff,

I am jealous that you had the chance to live in Easton Mountain.  I am just the opposite of you.  I am living publicly and would love to live in a spiritual community where we all interacted together but I am wondering, did your living there mean you didn't have Internet access?

Some day I am going to make it to a RF Easton Mountain retreat, I keep hearing how fabulous they are!

Blessings,

Willow akas Christopher

Willow,

Yes, we did have internet service…. we had many of the comforts of most homes…. RF communities many times do not…
I may go up to Destiny RF community in Vermont this summer, the dogs would love to go back and run in the woods and get dirty, just as I would…
You moment will come when you feel the push to venture deeper into who you really are…

I am Love, Jeff

Wow, I could totally do that then.

I had a bad experience with the Camp Destiny crew but I will try them out again.  It's really a shame that there aren't any radical faeries in CT!

Willow,

There are RF everywhere you just have to look, but they do seem to be concentrated in the city and then go to the camps for festivals and times away.
Ever been to Burning Man? I have not I was just asking… and Zuni Mt has a big shaman gathering in August…

Tell me about your experience at Destiny… you can just email me if you do not wish to share that here.

I am Love, Jeff

I live not that far from New Haven and only 45 minutes from Hartford.  Connectciut is a very uptight state so I sincerely doubt that there is a significant RF population here.  Unfortunately, I am 2.5 hours from Boston and by train 1.5 hours from NYC.

The NYC RF's meet on Sunday which unfortunately doesn't work for me because I have to be up early for work on Monday, well Monday - Friday.

My experience with Camp Destiny happened from the minute I arrived.  I was having extreme difficulty setting up my tent because I didn't buy it, it was given to me by some friends and after 30 minutes of struggling, someone came over and said, “I figured you need some help, we've been watching you struggle for a while now,” referring to the circle of men who apparently found my struggling amusing or something because gods forbid someone should say hey, let me help you with that after like 5-10 minutes of watching and going, I don't think he gets that.

I went alone and tried to break into conversations, talk with people but i kept getting this “outsider” vibe.  I am not an oversensitive person, I can tell when people just don't want to interact with me, but how the heck can people decide before meeting me that they're not interested in getting to know me?

Did I make some mistakes over the weekend?  Sure, it was my first RF gathering.  I will give it another shot and hopefully have a better experience.  I try to be a loving person and come from my heart center in all that I do but when I enter into a space where it is promoted that other people do the same and I find just the opposite, I tend to shrink back and not want to be so involved.

Sorry, this reply was longer than I expected.

Willow,

As in all groups there are those who form their space… Faeries are just the same… wear a dress and see what happens?

Sorry It took me so long to see this? I know a few people and one of the most famous faeries I know is from Connectciut. I am friends with a MCC minster in Hartford and one of the guys who became the “Office manager” at Easton was from Hartford. Not faeries pre se but open and I have young friend in New Haven who is and artist, I am a friend of his x who came to Easton and now lives on a farm in Schoharie NY… and elder who is a professor that lives some where near the Ocean… any way lots of fags up there…

Well lets find out when the next event is at Destiny and make plans to go?
Did you check out Easton Mt. www.eastonmountain.com they are about to have their Gay Spirit camp which is a week long camp of workshops, and play and just being in nature. Check it out.

I will check out both sites and see if I can find someone who has an air mattress and tent that I can borrow for a weekend.
