There are many online resources for people in the GLBT community to dialogue about Buddhism. It just seemed appropriate to have one as part of this forum as well!

  Amber : Serendipity Graduate

My Intro

Amber said Nov 7, 2006, 6:49 AM:

Good morning to all-

My thanks to Larry for formulating the pod.  I've belonged to online “sangha” that closed or disbanded, and I look forward to discussing issues with all of you.

I've studied budhism since I was a teenager.  I read an article called “Enlightenment on No Dollars Per Day,” when I was young, all about the fact the Buddhism does not require all the trappings, trainings and transmissions.  It only requires that you sit, listen, and wait.  It changed my life.

I've dabbled in all different kinds of buddhism, and have settled comfortably into an esoteric mix- Tibetan and Tantra (not the pop culture sex version, the traditional Indian version)- that works for me.  So, I have an altar for Green Tara and prayer flags every equinox.  I also belong to a local and welcoming Unitarian Universalist group.

Thanks to all, and I look forward to this experience.
