T'is ok. I'm celibate anyway! I was thinking about other possible ways to perform a 'healing meditation'. I remember one that you described to me once about putting someone you love, then someone to whom youre indifferent, then someone you dislike, (and then yourself - eek!) in your mind and breathing in their pain, and breathing out compassion and love. Perhaps we could modify this with the goal of healing the earth, or the world? R* |

Wonderful Apple, these are both beautiful ways to focus and send energy….I willemail these out so everyone gets the chance to see them….in response to your query….the time in Cape Town is GMT (or UCT) +2hrs…so the answer to your question is Noon for the morning and MidNight for the evening………..hope this helps…..I have made a note in my diary of the date and I will be sure to still be ONLINE so to speak …..at that time…….if there was a special focus that zaadz S A are interested in let me know and I will pass it around the group Thankyou and blessings….. Er…. Geriathlete, youve got your timezones mixed up again! At 12.30pm Cape Town time, it would be 7.30 am here. Heres the link to a really good website, perhaps we could put it on the website for everyone to share? |

Re: [Global Meditation with Zaadz]Hi… Can't seem to figure out how to type this without sending it. Maybe I shouldn't hit enter??? … so if I am in Shanghai, what time would the meditation be? I like this idea a lot. I was thinking that as long as we have a clear point - the healing of the earth - then whatever meditation suits each person would be fine, since the point is the same. And if there was a project to focus on, we could add that too. I have a project to offer if that is okay. I work with the Golden Key foundation in China, creating a structure for the poorer provinces to help them get their blind and vision impaired children into school. It's a wonderful group, and everyone works so hard to help - the Golden Key folks, the provincial and local governments, and the teachers that are involved. Perhaps this could be a focus - or a wider look at blind children all over the world? This is what one child said to me on my last trip into the mountains - “I used to feel useless. But now that I can get an education, I want to use my education to help others.” She is 12 years old, and her name is Zhang Xue Qing, and her name means “Snow Harp.” I was so touched at her pure heart - she was helped, and her response was to work even harder to try to find a way to help others. Isn't that beautiful? |

This is inded a beautiful form of mediation….the Tonglen Practice of the Buddhist traditions, also known as Sending and Recieving……Pema Chodren… author of Start Where You are….and Be Here Now, or just about any book on Dharma will describe this form of meditation. It is a way of practicing universal compassion…sort of a useful skill to have, essential to those who would be Boddhisattvas Love and Blessings Annette |

I hate to get my knickers wet…..so when I arrived at the “mandala in the park” for meditation, after a downpour , I chose to try a walking meditation instead of sitting on wet benches. I chose to walk the circular path at least 24 times…once for each member of the pod….remaining mindful of you and of the life all around me…..After just a few circuits my attention was caught by a the approach of a bizarre vehicle…which, as it drew closer resolved into a motirised invalid scooter towing an orthodox wheelchair…the occupants being gown clad patients from the nearby hospital….they had come to share a cigarette, and chose their spot in front of a bench, successfully blocking the path I was walking….I would like to say that my heart opened to them, and I felt a surge of compassion for their state….. but I didn't….I was miffed….However I did note that they did not look happy to be there and since they only had one leg between the two of them I guess they had no reason to feel happy. There is a high incidence of diabetes on this island, and amputees are a distressingly familiar sight. Not to be thwarted I just walked around the outside of the circle on the grass. At first I just walked past them, sharing my love with the plants as I had been doing before. Then, almost mischievously. I thought “next time around I am going to include my two companions” so I did! What a splendid moment it was, such a joyous moment …I had the biggest silly grin on my face, I couldn't keep it in…….. There was no answering grin!…..in fact if I had to guess what the two were thinking it probably wasn't polite……but I didn't mind…Round and round I went, embracing this strange couple as I passed, and they had no clue what I was doing…..After some time the duo reformed their bizarre vehicle, and started back toward the hospital, approaching me on the path as they went…I moved aside to let them pass. As they reached me, I smiled and wished them good evening….and….. they smiled back and said “you too, lady!”….How cool was that! Respectfully with love Annette ‘ |
