Reading recommendations...

I've been boning up on my Goddess tomes…Have purchased a few…well…I lie…I have more than a few. I'm having a hard time deciding where to start and so haven't started any of them.
I can't list them now as I'm not at home, but I'd love to hear some of your suggestions.

When I'm home later I'll drop in again with my list.

I'd love to hear some reading recommendations.  I am currently looking for some new books to read focusing on women, goddess, female power, etc.  I do like fiction more that non, so if you have any thoughts, please let me know.  I just finished The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk, for the second time, and I loved the book all over again.  I learn so much of what I want to practice and bring to this world from her writings.  I'm expecting two books “The Birth House” and “Bigid's Charge” in this week which I'm looking forward to reading.  This is my first post to this pod and I'm excited to be here,

I just finished reading The Birth House and Brigid's Charge.  I loved them both as I am a big fan of novels that take historical facts and turn them into what feels like living breathing stories.  I am on the search for some more fiction stories or books about goddess/midwifery/pagan subjects.  I also have loved Starhawk's The Fifth Sacred Thing.  So, any suggestions would be great.

Have you read Egalia's Daughter: A Satire of the Sexes by Gerd Brantenberg? The book is about a land called Egalia, where basically the roles are reversed compared to our society. I recommend reading it.

I have been reading Women of the Celts by Jean Markale. I just wrote about Banb on my blog.

Hmm.. fiction Goddessey books….

You've likely read Marion Zimmer Bradely's “Mists of Avalon” but what about her “Priestess of Avalon”, “The Forest House” or her (and Diana L. Paxons's ) “Ancestors of Avalon” (on the Isle's Atlantean origins)

If perhaps you are simply saying that you like stories better than workbooks or textbooks, then perhaps you should try Lynn Andrews'
“Medicine Woman” or “Jaguar Woman” (I've been working from the latter recently - seems a new thing jumps out to me from each read)

Other than that, I prefer the non-fiction style. Largely because it is more direct and easier to reference if I need something.
