What are your favorite areas of study?

Mercale said Sep 23, 2008, 7:34 AM:

Of course there are many past and future, but I love herbs, numerology, crystal and gem work, energy work, spell and ritual crafting, and meditations. I'm currently working on refining my tarot and astrology skills…

On a religious note, although my primary practice is Wicca, I also study Druidism, Hindu philosophy, Bhuddist teachings, and many others. I am currently working on learning more about Native American spirituality.

I love all forms of tarot and divination tools; tea, runes, sticks, clouds, dreams. I find that dicination reveals to all involved insights about the self more so than insights from a noutside source.

But I have to admit that I'm going through a period of extreme atheism. I should actually say that I'm struggling with it. I am questioning everything and the answers I am getting….well……I'm still questioning.

I'm on the fence between knowing that all I know comes from within my own knowledge and that opening up my mind and energy to that knowledge will reveal everything……AND…….acceptign that the knowledge is not part of me and I have to seek it in outher sources.

I guess I'm saying that right now, my favorite area of study is seeking the source/truth.

Lol, my obsession… the Truth that transcends all things… I'm actually even writing a book about Spirit and the Truths behind all relligions, and how we can incorporate that more into our daily lives…

My favorite divination currently is still coffee ground reading (not too many people drink tea with actual leaves any more it seems) though I too LOVE to cloud watch, etc. I've found many an important message in an unusual source. My favorite experience to date with this though, is when my hubby spent 40 minutes taking pictures of the pictures he saw standing out from the morning wrinkles in our sheets…  *grin* Gotta love that man…

“I'm on the fence between knowing that all I know comes from within my own knowledge and that opening up my mind and energy to that knowledge will reveal everything……AND…….acceptign that the knowledge is not part of me and I have to seek it in outher sources. ”

Though they may seem to be, to my mind, these are not mutually exclusive views.  I may indeed “have access” to this knowledge, but if I don't yet know *where to find it* or how to *access* it through myself, the chance that I can spontaneously recall that the square root of 9 is 3, or how to make the perfect stew, is slim. No matter how many lifetimes I may have lived, the chance that I as an indiviudal soul have not experienced everything there is to experience of know. There is always more to learn, to refine our understanding. Knowing and Learning are both essential to our growth as individuals. The more we learn, the more we understand what we know.  :)

I can (and do) trust that as that connected being if I really want to know, I will lead myself to a place where I can “(re)learn” the answer. The ability to manifest things in life is amazing and always humbling when it occurs.

Of course, we often miss what we already have because we are looking for what we want in the form we *think* it will take..and not the form in which it was *actually* given.

Also worth considering, as we are all bits of Divineness walking around, any knowledge that comes from without, has still simply come from within You in the broader sense - another facet of your Self.

We often experience turmoil when we try to apply logic to our “inner knowings” or the contents of our heart. The Loving touch of Spirit (by whatever name) and indeed faith and love of all sorts, defy logic by their very nature. However illogical they may seem however, we experience them in a deep and gratifying way as Truth. They resonate within us as such. We cannot set them aside, yet the urge to quantify and probe, to “know” and not be “fooled” can sometimes be irresistable. I'm lucky to have an obsession with Physics, which to me is the Science of Magic, the Science that teaches us about Spirit, at least, as I said, to my mind…  :)  I'm not sure all physicists would agree, lol.

Logic can be reversed, scientific “knowledge” may change (not so long ago, the world was “flat” and atoms a “mystical fantasy”) but the Heart knows Truth and Beauty when it finds it.

May your heart lead you to the bliss that is beyond any “logic” humanity can at present understand… May you see the trees, and the forest, and know that you are beyond them both.

with love,

Mercale

For the sake of it Anna,

I wanted to let you know that I have every faith in you. I know Spirit (God/Goddess) has a real plan for you.

When Spirit spoke to you, you followed and learned what you could. You reached out to others, took a spiritual leadership role, and provided a safe place for people to share and support one another.

I hope that whatever you are going through right now, it is as gentle as possible, and I look forward to seeing you beautiful and glowing even brighter on the other side of it all…

Many blessings,
 Mercale

Ah….thank you so much Mercale for the encouragement. Your words warm my heart.

I agree with a lot of your first respsonse as well. It's nto really two different sources of knowledge when I consider that everything's connected. And, really, it is, right? It's a challenge to keep that in mind, but when I am reminded of it, the truth of is resonates with every cell in my body……must be resonating “everywhere” too, huh?

I picked up my Goddess Tarot cards again and have been working with them here and there. I've never been one to ask specific questions; I figure I'll learn what I'm meant to learn. Lately I've been getting messages of freedom and discovery and rebirth. Perhaps I am on the verge….

Do you use divination for yourself much? if so, do you find it more difficult to “see” when it comes to you than it is for others?

I like to use my hubby's native american deck for (often) one card readings for myself. I find anything more than that and I feel muddled. I think it is harder to do a reading for yourself, personally.

I find with one card I can ask a question, get a succinct reply that I'm not so likely to over analyze, and then if I *need* to I might draw another card (never more than 2) for clarity. I figure if I can't “get it” in 3 cards then more is certainly not going to *clarify* anything!

Still working on the readings myself. No one has requested one recently, so I've just been doing tiny ones (as described above) throughout the day.

Glad to see you back here!  When you're feeling more up to it, I started a pod recently as well called We are One. If it speaks to you, I'd be honored to have you join us : )

;~) I feel the same as you about getting a one-card reading for myself and then feeling muddled if I try more. I've been trying to work on it a little each night before I fall asleep. I find I can focus for about 30 minutes which is a huge leap in that direction.

I'm gonig to check out your pod - thanks for the invitation.
