wow! - i find myself a bit hesitant to start new threads here, and then i realize the old ones are still going to be there any time.  i offer this space as our second thread, another link in our beautiful and ever growing gratitude chain.

I am grateful to have read the ends of the last gratitude thread and the beginnings of another.

I am grateful for all the wealth of information available on You Tube and that I have finally discovered its value as “how to” instruction and historical data and of course, every other imaginable thing. But I am particularly grateful for the useful parts. Isn’t easily available Internet education amazing? I’m old enough to remember days and weeks spent in libraries trying to locate books on subjects that picqued my interest. I remember having to order books from other libraries to get what I needed and wait for them! Now, in a moment of time: BINGO! I don’t even leave my couch! Stunning!

I am grateful that we still have libraries and books for when we want them. I am grateful for the way they feel and smell and for the in depth wealth of information that may not have made its way to You Tube.

I am grateful to have had a warm shower and washed my hair today.

I am grateful that I got the laundry done and will have fresh clean sheets to sleep on tonight (including a clean mattress pad.) I am grateful that keeping these things clean does help my allergies.

Today I am grateful for the amount of joy I’ve felt this weekend.

I am grateful that Bruce Springsteen & the E Street band gave an AMAZING show at half-time, and I’m grateful for the smiles that that performance gave me and my family.

I am grateful for the delicious all-vegan restaurant I went to tonight with my family to celebrate my birthday at. It’s called the “Gratitude Cafe” in Healdsburg, CA and it’s basically our Gratitude Chain summed up into a restaurant. It’s a very positive, grateful environment, and I’d recommend it to anyone on this Chain. :)

I am grateful for the fact that my family is healthy and doing well, and I’m grateful to have had the chance to visit them this weekend.

I am grateful for a joyful worship service in church this morning and for the happiness I felt when I left there and for the new friend I made there this morning.

As far as I’m concerned there’s nothing to forgive just gratitude for reading again those beautiful words on the card. Is that from the St Frances prayer?
I’ve read them before but can’t recollect.

I am grateful that my sweetheart and I have been dating for four whole years today, and we’ve planned a beautiful weekend to celebrate. :) A massage, fine dining, sledding in the snow and a comedy show tomorrow evening… we don’t usually spend money like this, but it will be nice. :)

I am grateful for the love in our relationship and for the many memories we have given each other: hikes along the Sierras, days when we couldn’t stop laughing… it’s been a blessing to have him in my life.

i am inspired by a renewed knowing of just how powerful our thoughts, actions and words can be, and how they can reach and touch others far beyond our immediate view.

i am grateful for the beauty of a single rose.  yes a single rose.  when i look at something that might seem so simple at a glance and then realize what a miracle it truly is, how magnificent and perfect this creation is, it becomes a metaphor for all of life, or at least how all of life is seen.

I’m grateful that the unhappy, chained pit bull along the route was almost too sedated by the warm weather to respond with his usual ferociousness. After almost a year, he may just be getting used to us.

I am grateful for the feel of freshly fallen snow crunching underneath my boots and for the taste and crispness of fresh snow. I am grateful that I was able to celebrate my birthday up at Lake Tahoe and I am grateful that I got to celebrate with the one I love.

I’m also grateful for the amazing things we can achieve through hard work, and grateful for the healing power of laughter.

I’m grateful for friends with warm blankets (Lol, Nicole!) because I’m freezing. I forgat something on the stove (stupid) and the alarm went off,  the whole room is blue with smoke so I had to open all the windows. But GOD am I GRATEFUL for fire alarms.. Pfffttt… Thank You thank you thank you…so to show my gratefullness a little joke to relax.

Hi Lars,
This puts on the table an interesting question (which I’ve asked myself 1000 times): ”Is Gaia REAL?”.

First, I though, no, because you don’t “really” get to know people, but then I thought, Yes, because we can cut out all the external superficial denominators and false measures of “how and who people are”, and get right to the point of interacting, talking and discussing about, interchanging, etc., things we really like!

And then again, I thought, but that’s only ONE part. Not the whole part.
And then again, I thought, but in the so “real” world, do we ever get to THAT inner part, we can get here, I mean, with friends? Rarely…

Or, maybe we do just express it in a different way: If I say to my friend from the ‘real’ world “I am so grateful that you came today to have a coffee with me, look how nice the foam.. and ahh, you are so sweet and wonderful, thank you so much for being with me and being my friend, I appreciate you are taking the time to drive out here……. ” Maybe this person would look at me thinking (“What’s  WRONG with her.. did the metaphysical stuff went into her head..??”.

But then again, in the real world I can say 1/4 of the words, and the rest,
yes the rest, I can tell her with a big smile, a sparkle in my eyes and - having her beloved coffee already prepared for her.

Artemisilke: Another wise member of the site once asked me… if Gaia were to disappear (if the site crashed forever and all was lost) would it still exist? Where is Gaia?

I think Gaia is real–that this community lives in the hearts and eyes and even the chattering fingertips of all of us. (Strange, isn’t it, to think that this whole space was woven by the tappings of our hands? Composed like music on a keyboard? And if a symphony can be real, why not this?)  It might not be quite as embodied as most, but it’s still, to my mind, quite real.

YES, I think Gaia is VERY real.. and I also know, that we put much more into it, then our fingertips…
our hearts, our compassion, our Love.. and even unconditional love, our brains, our time for reflection and reception, our honest self-questioning and - the best visions and qualities of us, as we do want to create this planet!

Thank you Artemisilke. It’s not that I don’t like the picture, but on my screen it turned out way too big overlapping other stuff and I couldn’t edit it.
 
So you’re originally from Hamburg. Quite a change eh the Bay area?! I’ve lived in the US, different places, like N.Y. Nevada and in  Ca. the Bay Area, Santa Cruz and San Diego. Kind of miss lots of sunshine and wild breathtaking  landscapes.
