Great News Show

Every time we read, hear or see 'news' it hardly ever is. Whatever is shared, is always with an agenda. Pushing points of view, belief systems, etc. Now how wonderful when the agenda is peace, I'd love to take a daily helping of it!

I dream of one day creating a “great news show”, in a playful setting with lots...(more)

Gimundo Makes a Comeback

Gimundo Makes a Comeback
It's been a little while, but Gimundo.com is back with good news daily!
By Kathryn Hawkins. Posted on April 27 2009

Gimundo is back.

We don’t usually use ourselves as story subjects—but in this case,
we thought that you’d agree with us that the return of Gimundo is very
good news.

If you’ve been a reader for a while, you probably wondered what had
happened. The site promised “good news, served daily,” but we hadn’t
delivered a new dose since early January—and if you only read our
newsletter, it’s been even longer since you’ve seen an update.

So what’s the deal? The fact is, like many of you, Gimundo’s been
through some rough times in the last year. But we know that people are
more in need of good news now than ever before, and we’re eager to
provide it.

You’ll notice a new design and a few new features, but rest assured
that this is the same site that you know and love—as Gimundo’s editor
for nearly two years, I wrote almost all of the stories that appear on
the site. Though the original founders have moved on to new pursuits,
my husband Jeff and I decided to take on the site by ourselves, through
our web design/development and editorial consulting agency, Hawkins
Multimedia LLC. We know that running Gimundo on our own will be tough
work, but we believe strongly in the site’s mission, and know that
everyone can benefit from reading some good news every day in these
difficult times.

We’re still in the process of getting up and running again, so bear
with us as we deal with our teething issues, and feel free to let us
know about any problems you find. In the meantime, take a look at some
of our new stories and videos. We’d also love it if you could help us
out by signing up for the daily newsletter (if you haven’t already) and
passing it on to your friends. Your support matters more than
anything—if you believe that good news and inspiring stories have
value, please do your part to help us keep this going. With your help,
we can build a better world.

If you’re a newsletter subscriber, you may have already received a
“welcome back” notice from us. If not, don’t worry: because we’ve just
relaunched, our mail service provider Constant Contact has delayed some
of the mailings. Hopefully, everything should be back to normal within
the next day or so, but in the meantime, keep an eye on the site for
new stories, links, and videos.

Welcome back to Gimundo!

Sincerely,

Kathryn and Jeff Hawkins
