Thanks for that link - I'm on a ton of political maillists, but not the greens, so I was glad to be able to sign up for that list.

I'm a libertarian who votes democrat, but I've been becoming more and more interested in the greens - I've been writing about the possibility of a green-democrat alliance as part of a “new party” for the upcoming decades.

Right now, I am unlikely to vote green, because a green vote is basically the same as a vote for the republicans, for all practical purposes.

But, I'm likley to donate to the greens, and I want to learn a lot more about them in the next few years.

Bill, I believe that many Greens come from a Democrat background. An alliance would be wonderful, but I wonder about established practice. So many Dems have disappointed. :-(

As I live in conservative central, a vote for the greens is the same as a vote for the dems. Pretty inconsequential.

I had a dream last night where the Republican Party split - one side for traditional Republicans and one side for the Ultra-Conservatives who are currently in power. Needless to say, it was a VERY good dream!

That's very true - even tho I'm pretty well educated as far as political strategy goes, it's easy to forget how the electoral college affects and negates votes.

I, however, live in a blue state (at least nominally, I live in a rural red area of a blue state, which may make my dem vote uncounted - I'll have to look into that) , so I have to consider that my green vote, if I were to vote that way, might end up actually being a vote for the Repugs.

Dang, I'll have to examine that issue - is my dem vote uncountable because I live in a red zone?

Do you have a sense of wether or not there is a really short and focused summary of the green platform online somewhere?

I don't want to read the same old same old - I want to know if there are specific plans that are politically convincing?

BTW, the democrats suck, I pretty much hate them, I just hate the republicans a whole lot more. They are all Corporatists.

Bill,

We've had a few family birthdays this week & I had to give up some online time. I'll put some things together and post them ASAP.

Namaste,

Julie
