Do you have a sense of wether or not there is a really short and focused summary of the green platform online somewhere?

I don't want to read the same old same old - I want to know if there are specific plans that are politically convincing?

The best I could find are the Issue Briefs. They're 1-2 pages in PDF form dealing with a few specific topics. There's also a booklet, but it's only for sale via the storefront & not available online.

Other than that, most articles pointed to the 10 Key Values or here.

I found this, which seems to be one of the most complete descriptions of a platform on specific issues.

http://www.gp.org/platform/2004/

The ten principles are too general to use for political comparison or political argument. They remind me of something the dems did earlier this year - sending out a list of seven points (I think it was seven) that were what the 'new' democratic party stood for - which were nice enough principles, and ,many essentially identical to the corresponding issues in the green 'ten principles'. But, they were too general, and I think only continued the impression that the dems don't really have a plan and an idea for governance.

That 2004 platform statement gets more specific, which I like. But, it certainly isn't concentrated, it tends to ramble on.

What would be ideal would be a one page condensation of specific points, like:

Repeal the Patriot Act and replace it with a domestic safety plan that respects the American belief in civil liberty.

It certainly does ramble on. I'd also like to see an updated version for the 2006 elections. I'd also like a shorter version to show people what the Greens are focused on at the present moment instead of (in general) guiding principles.

I'll ask my other Green contacts and see if they know if anything else is in the works.

Namaste,

Julie
