Mp3 and other modalities

polly said Aug 23, 2008, 3:14 AM:

HI All,

The other day I encountered a very interesting blog that Jonothan Goldman of the Sound Healers Association started regarding Mps's and other sound formats. Very interesting.  Sorry, I seem to have lost the link.  Is worth finding, tho', and if I do, I will post it.

Hi Polly:

As a suggestion, unless you have your computer dump your browsing history each time you close off your computer, you probably could still find the link in there with some patient scanning.

Another hint for anyone browsing and finding links they might want to share at some point is to set up a “to be explored” folder in your “Favorites” and pop the link in there.

So, looking forward to seeing the link here….  I may also scout around if time permits.

Cheers!
Gem

Hi again……

Thanks for the link, Polly.  I think anyone considering copying over ANY of their healing, meditation, and particularly binaural sound files to MP3 might want to check this out first, including the comments left by many very knowledgable others in the sound field.  I think you'll change your mind about it, if you do the reading.

I also checked out the “Wiki” link he gave, particularly around the “Super Audio” (SACD) formats.  I actually have several of the music ones listed - as I tend to be very particular about sound quality.  There is a definite difference between even regular CD's and SACD's.  While I certainly didn't have the deep pockets to buy the specific player for them, they still sound very good on quality home entertainment CD/DVD playback mode - not so hot on computer speakers.  If you are able (as I was) to have installed an upgraded computer sound card, and to hook up your computer to a stereo output and stereo (5.1) surround speakers, then it gives a good approximation of SA sound through the entertainment center.

I have subscribed to his blog, as I feel he is definitely worth exploring further as to what he can share with the world.

Cheers!
