Hi Gem

Thanks for giving me your thoughts on Holosync.

I did get Level 3 from Perfect Meditation and have been using it for about a week now. I feel I am going deeper with this system but as you said I might have just plateaued for a bit on Holosync. I am still in 2 minds which one to stick with but I will keep an open mind.

Cheers

Crystal

      Hi CrystalDragon:

Since reading your post yesterday, and giving it some thought back to when I did some of the lower levels, I also found that certain levels sometimes felt "flat" a lot sooner than the recommended 6 to 8 weeks per CD. However, I also read on other forums that others had experienced the same thing, and thinking they were super-stars, went ahead to further levels, and found they were experiencing all sorts of weird stuff. So I stuck it out and sure enough, just before the six weeks was up, I had a big break-through.

There is no race, and even when it doesn't feel like it is doing anything, more often than not, it's still working. I will paraphrase what Bill Harris has said about this in the past - that they (CRI) worked on and with the program for several years before opening it up to the public, and then oddly enough, people using it now decide that they know more than the people who created the program. If the work is not done on one level and a person proceeds to the next prematurely, then it just takes longer to clear out the ol' garbage bin in the end.

Me - I squeeze every bit of juice I can out of a CD, like it was gold. I now tend to go anywhere from two weeks to a month or more over the recommended time, and my results are really good.

Be Well!
Gem

I have been meditating with Holosync for just over 12 months and started Awakeniing Level 2 about 4 weeks ago.
To my mind it seems to have lost it's "oomph" !!
I spent some time looking for another program and have just ordered Perfect Meditation Level 3.
After reading through several forums about the subject of Holosync vs Perfect Meditation I am looking forward to being able to compare them myself.

Has anyone else tried both and can let me know what they thought ??

      Hi Y'all!

I must say, I agree with Roobarb. I'm only just finishing AL1 and, to be fair, I havn't even looked at any other programme, but I find the idea of having support really beneficial. I havn't needed to use it yet but it is comforting to know such support exists. So if I really freak out one day and need to run screaming to someone, it'll be much better calling someone who's 'travelled the path' or at least knows what I'm talking about, rather than going to my local councellor or doctor who may just tell me to stop and prescribe anti-depressants.
From my own experience, I highly recommend learning a traditional meditation method by an experienced teacher and reading up on the subject, particularly reading religious AND scientific explanations for the meditative experience. If you decide to 'travell the path' make sure you do your homework because it is guaranteed to be a bumpy ride.

Much Love

Andy

As someone who has been engaged in meditation for many years and recent user of Holosync (just finishing Awakening Level 1) there really are some important points to make with regard to choosing a particular programme and some lesser-known facts about what to expect.

Firstly, there is no perfect solution. The only solution is the one you choose, for whatever reasons you have. The reason is very simple - it is the state of your mind which creates imperfection and the need to seek in the world.

We all have personal preferences and reasons for choosing a programme like this, and it is highly unlikely any programme exists which fits your personality perfectly. Why are you even bothering? Surely the point of a programme like this is to instigate deep personal transformation? Do you know what your preferences will be after this change starts to kick in? Think about it ... it is always a leap into the unknown, which always feels scary. Stop trying to feel comfortable about it ... you cannot, doubts always remain, and may even increase ;o)

Sounds typically esoteric, but it really is how your mind works. Many people spend their whole lives looking for something only to find it was right before their eyes all along. Just go with what feels right for you. The technology is not unique to Centerpointe (altough some things are - see later) and you have a choice - now and later.

I have read many comments, many questions and doubts, from people on forums like this. However I did notice one thing: almost all the doubters and questioners were in the early stages of the program - Prologue or Awakening Levels 1 and 2. I could not find any questioners and doubter who had moved on the the higher levels. Either there are no people on the higher levels (possible) or (much more likely) those who have reached the higher levels no longer have any doubts. I have also read comments by some people who are close to finishing the Holosync Program which have, without exception, been incredibly positive.

The technology/science behind Holosync/binaural beats is solid, comprehensive and well documented. There are hundreds of accredited research papers in this field which support the technology. It is also a technology that is freely available, - so you have a choice. Sometimes having a choice makes things difficult for us because now we have to make the best choice - right? Do you value cheapness above creating a balanced, functional mind and happy life? Then buy the cheapest CD you can find. Easy.

But ...

Don't sell yourself short. There is one critical factor most people here seem to be overlooking - the value of support.

I have practiced many types of meditation and been involved in several different long-term personal development programs. All were effective to some degree, some easier to practice than others but the single most important factor in the long-term practice of any program is access to and quality of support.

Any program you follow will throw up difficulties and doubts that you need to push through. Without the support of experienced individuals - those who have walked the path you are now walking and who can understand the process you are involved with and have themselves pushed through the same difficulties you will experience, you will be lost; wandering alone in a dark unknown wilderness. Your process will be a rollercoaster ride, with highs and lows; you, like everyone else, are going to have to cope with those lows. Do not underestimate the resistance and toxic mental processes that will inevitably surface when diving deep into a program like this. If you are having trouble deciding on a programme now, understand that you have not even scratched the surface of the depths of doubt your mind is capable of.

My advice is choose the programme which not only offers reliable technology - and there are a few, Holosync included - but one that also provides comprehensive support, both in terms of written/audio support materials and people you can speak to directly (by e-mail or phone). You are going to need it. This is so important I cannot stress it enough.

There will always be cheap alternatives, but don't sell yourself short. In my experience, when choosing products of any kind, the extra cost is almost always worth it. There are exceptions of course, but in this case I do not believe there are many programs that provide the kind of long-term support that is a requirement for any program as deeply transformative as Holosync.

There is nothing to be afraid of in a program like this, though fear will certainly surface at some point, but just being able to talk to someone about what is going on with you can be a huge relief/letting go in itself and will both smooth out and accelerate your progress.

Incidentally, research into binaural beats has indicated that the presence of "white noise" in the background increases the efficacy of the beats. This is just one of the built-in (but little known) features of Holosync (the sound of falling rain = white noise). Chanting monks may sound more spiritual, but in fact will not be so effective as the white noise you get with Holosync. The technology used for the sound recordings on Holosync CDs (a unique 3D effect) has also been found to reduce the stress load on the auditory system of the brain during listening sessions. I am also a big fan of the option to have affirmations included on the CDs, but that is just a personal preference.

Bill Harris is also internationally respected in his field - he has spoken before the United Nations and has the endorsement of people such as Genpo Roshi, Ken Wilbur, Jack Canfield and others. There is a reason for this, think about it.

So i've been using The Meditation Solution for 6 days now. I really like it and will definitely stick with this program. I downloaded Level 2 as an MP3 and it is great. I was using Awakening Prologue before this, and I've definitely gone "deeper". I don't know what all the fuss about not using MP3's is about. Not whilst you're using beginner levels anyway. So i'll use this level until June.

I would defs recommend trying it out if you're looking for a cheaper option to Holosync. $26 for an MP3.

It has 3 tracks - A - bowls and rain. B&C - rain only. check www.meditationsolution.com for more info on how the frequencies lower and stuff. It makes sense to me to use track B as the site describes, rather than 4 separate CDs...

But anyhoo. That's me :-)

Cheers
Ryan.

If you rotate them, how are you going to be able to tell which causes what affects? I understand that you be able to preceive which feels the best. I like Hemi-sync feel more than Holosync feel but, for repeated use I believe that holosync changes me more. Shouldnt you run them at least a full week or two at a time?

I am just asking so I will know the anwers when I am bouncing all over the place and someone asks me.

Have Fun.....Jay

I will be giving both Perfect Meditation and The Meditation Solution a try. I have been using Holosync AP for 4 months. I plan to begin rotating AP with Perfect Meditation L2 and The Meditation Solution L3 and see if I can gauge the relative 'potency' of each. Look for some updates by me on this within the next 2-3 weeks. While I am not excited about the cost of Holosync, if it really is the best out there I will probably go the whole route... though I plan on testing out the other two programs mentioned above in order to get a good feel for what other options are out there.

      Thanks Pelle.

I'm gonna do the same thing as Kendoji as there are already user presets available that mimic Holosync. I don't think carrier tones are important, well not the degree by which they descend. I'll just do whatever feels right beginning at 100 and heading down to 3Hz - as low as my earphones go. If Kendoji reads this can you let me know how you're doing with NP2?

It's funny that I am writing here. I don't do this sort of thing - and I've never been one to meditate. But I was kinda stressed about work/study/life and was looking up meditation classes when I stumbled across binaural beats . . . I still haven't told my girl or work people that I use them . . . I actually work in mental health research -

So I've stopped using AP. Am using Insight from Immrama Inst. every night. And Ultrameditation VI from Mindtek sometimes. AP stopped doing anything for me. And not wanting to sound weird - but the Insight CD caused me to have an out of body experience. Serious. I know it's not real, and it should be called an out of body "sensation" snce it is only a disassociation of the mind from the body - same as sensory deprivation - but it was so bizarre to experience. The whole time it was happening I was thinking "Damn, this is what they talk about!" And it's funny, all the literature on it - energising your chakras, vibrations, etc - it's all a pretty spot on description. Personally, I'm more into a scientific explanation, but for the more esoterically inclined, it really does do justice to the sensations and experience. And it is a peaceful feeling. I haven't been able to do it again though. I just get headaches when I try. Too aware and eager.

Anyhoo. I sound like the people who sound like this, and I always thought I wouldn't ;-P

Ry.

      Hi Ry,

Welcome to the pod!

I think you could probably use AP for 2-4 months more, and still benefit from the entrainment. Centerpointe recommends spending at least 4 months on that level, and I think I spent six months on it myself.

There's a guy on this pod, Ken (Kendoji), who is creating his own "Holosync" program using NeuroProgrammer 2 - and he seems to be happy with that solution so far.

I don't have any inside information on the other commercial programs competing with Holosync. It's good that you've checked that the go deep into Delta, the only thing I would add is that you make sure that they lower the carrier frequency with each level - so that your entrainment can proceed predictably and smoothly.

Cheers,

Pelle

I'm in the same boat. Have been using Awakening Prologue for 2 months and feel it's time to move on.

The last two months, since buying Awakening Prologue, I bought Insight from Immrama and Ultrameditation VI from Mindtek. I've never been into this kind of stuff before. The first I heard about binaural beats was when I stumbled across, and purchased, Awakening Prologue. I was so amazed by it though, that I searched for others. I read SOOO many posts and websites... basically anything I could to try and figure out what will be my best next move. I've been kinda obsessed by this over the past few weeks!

Like others I'm sure, I just can't find that "perfect" one. And like others, even though Holosync seems awesome the price is pretty prohibitive. But I need a routine. I've been going nuts on these CDs I bought. Just need to go slow and steady with one I think.

Anyway, my weeks of research and thinking have lead me to choose between either:

- Perfect Meditation - $80 per level. Probably the same as Holosync in that the 4th CD of each level will hold you at .3hz. Though have only found 1 persons opinion on this set.

- The Meditation Solution - $35 per level. One CD per level which holds you at .3hz - same as Holosync.

- NeuroProgrammer 2 - There are user presets available which mimic the descending frequencies of Holosync, so you can effectively create your levels by lowering the carrier tone. Seems easy enough. Don't know why I am hesitant!

It's funny - Seems alot of people are in the same boat in that they've tasted Holosync/Binaural Beats but the Holosync program is too expensive! Yet we don't want to miss out on what you know will get better.

*sigh*

I dont know that they are such a hard sell. They do use up a lot of paper offering deals but, they dont call you. Also, it is kind of nice that they throw the discounts at you every so often if you are at a point that you are planing to finish the entire series. I just keep plugging away at the meditation and when they offer me a discount with a load of freebies I buy another level. I just started Awakening level 4 and I have the next two levels already paid for plus I get the gamma with every future level. I do like the Monroe stuff also and if I can figure out the time commitment I would really like to try out the Brain State Technology stuff that Shadow Boxer posted about several months ago. Holosync seems to be making change in me and my life and I am committed to it. I will listen to that final Holosync cd someday!

Jay

When someone uses the word, "transparent," in regard to Centerpointe, I can't leave it unanswered.

Centerpointe may appear to be transparent but cannot be due to the nature of its business model. They have a product that can be duplicated, yet charge for it as though it can't be.

They are no more transparent than the Perfect Meditation folks; just obscure things in different ways.

One of the reasons I like Holosync is the support and transparency you get from Centrepoint. They do push the hard sell but I guess they're a company which needs to make money like all others.

neverlookback - I think you're right - it's very important to have complete trust in the product as we're spending so much time with it.

thanks for the reply guys...

I have not looked into Perfect Meditation, but The Meditation Solution looks pretty shaky to me. I could not find the company behind whoever produces the product, and when you order, you order through either Paypal or this online checkout service that has no reference to where the program comes from. And the most worrisome fact is any contact or communication is done by email to Alchemy ? no phone number I could find. Plus, there site reads like a copy of Centerpointe, the main difference being that there levels are done in one disc that you listen to for 6 months, but the drop is done all the way from 2.5 to .3 on one disc. They always reference to that other company that charges 300 dollars for each of their levels. I get tired of the constant statements by competing companies about their progams being better in this way or that way to H/S.

A friend of mine let me borrow his perfect meditation disks (level 2) after completing Centerpointe's Awakening Prologue. I wrote the guy at perfect meditation and said level 2 is what i should do after awakening prologue.

I actually liked it. I liked the monk hummings (or whatever it is) over the rain water.

I was unsure of perfect meditation for the long term (for the above stated reasons) and decided centerpointe was best for the long term and was willing to pay more money because of it.

Very grateful Kendoji - sometimes we like to pay for things that are reassuringly expensive. I think thats where I'm at. Even though Perfect Meditation does the same job part of me is reluctant to give it a go. Interesting!

I'll look into The Meditation Solution.

Thanks mate

I'm very curious about that solution as well. I'd be very surprised if they don't use carrier frequencies lower than AL4 - they have more levels than Holosync. But I don't know for sure and haven't been able to find any information online. The guy who runs the company is adamant that his solution is MUCH MORE powerful than Holosync, but he will refuse to give you any details about how any of it works. I found emailing with him rather frustrating. He is highly critical of Centerpointe and their marketing, but on the Perfect Meditation website there is even less actual fact - nowhere does it really explain the theory that these particular CDs are based on. Centerpointe at least does publish some informative stuff on their site along with the marketing hype.

So until proven otherwise, I'm going to assume he just copied the Holosync modality. Perhaps the Buddhist chanting backgrounds are nice, I don't know.

I've done a lot of searching online for accounts from people who have used it - but only found a few. Most of them said that it's good.

And I still think 80 dollars isn't very cheap. Have a look at The Meditation Solution as well, they're very clear about what they do differently on their site and are much cheaper. And for 60 dollars you can get Neuro Programmer 2 and make all your own sessions. :-)
