Hi,

When listening to HS(over six years) I lay down, sit-up, recline, walk,<you name it>. My correct listening position is what's comfortable at that moment.

Have a wonderful one,

Larry

Thanks to everyone for sharing so openly about the physical realities of keeping those headphones on for a full hour! Two and a half years ago I had a baby. I was so worried that my Holosync meditation would keep me from hearing him cry that I stopped completely.

I tend to go really deep into meditation, so much so that I can't hear anything going on around me.

Now that he's older, I'm finding it more difficult to get back into the swing of everyday use! My regular cd player is broken, so now I have to use my DVD player on my TV.

Setbacks aside, the results I've experienced so far with the mediation are permanent. I don't slide backwards in my development.

I feel full of love and light, and I'm starting to share it with everyone I meet. Keep on listening, even if you fall asleep, or get distracted. I've been the lazy Holosyncer since the beginning, and I listen in bed and use it to fall asleep. The rep's say you develop as fast as you dedicate waking time to it. Yes, listening while asleep slows your progress a bit, but it's okay with me, because I'm still developing. I've got a busy family and working life. I'm happy now, but I wasn't always!

      Hi,
I am also new to the forum and glad that I found it as well. I started meditating with Holosync 17 days ago so I have just started using Immersion. It think is an amazing method !
It takes me into a deep meditation that is very refreshing, clears away stress, dissolves muscle tension, gives a lot of energy and starts a process that I can just sense beginning (getting more focused, more in alignment). Just the right thing for me. And it also works when I am not in the mood for meditation! It is fabulous that it really works!
Udhu

I have a "wow" moment to tell you about. It was scary, but at the same time one of those experiences that let you know that something is going on.
Yesterday we, (my husband and I) were meditating at our usual time. During the meditation I had an experience that made me panic. I was in my car on the interstate. I was felt as if I couldn't keep my eyes open so I decided to get off the interstate and rest a bit. There was a blue car beside me so I put on my blinker and sped up so I could get in front of it. The only problem was that I couldn't open my eyes to see if I was ahead of him. I kept telling myself to open my eyes because I would wreck if I didn't get off the interstate soon. I couldn't I tried to open them but panic was rising. Then I ordered myself and forced myself to open my eyes. Man was I relieved to see that I was in my sunroom meditating. I then became the watcher took several deep breaths and closed my eyes. It was not an experience I want to repeat, but it was a wow experience. I never dreamed I would have one like that and it will not stop me from doing the meditation. I just let it be okay and by the time the end of the CD came about I was back under so far that my husband had to call me a couple of times to wake me up after it was over.
This is the bad experience, but I have had some good ones too just not so vivid.
God bless you all
and Have a great Day

      Hi, Lynn.

I'm a lazy holosyncer. Prior to Holosync, I never meditated for more than 20-30 minutes. Therefore, an entire hour is a big undertaking. I can keep the headphones on for an hour, and I can keep my eyes closed, but sitting for that length of time makes me fidgety. So, if I do sit, it's in an easy-chair.

Here's my take on what Bill Harris is telling us about sitting. I think he does have a particular mindset regarding meditation. The only drawback to lying down is that you might fall asleep. I've used other programs that tell you to sit or lie down, whatever makes you comfortable.

I'm still a newbie to the program (1 month), but I still have to do things my way (to a point). My husband is good about leaving me alone for the hour I need. If the phone rings, I ignore it. The two things I do for the full hour is keep the headphones on, and keep the eyes closed. The one day when we were so busy I didn't get my hour, I simply put my headphones on and went to bed. (Okay, they're earbuds, and it's on my Ipod)

So, my vote is that you slap your headphones on while you are still in bed, and lie there in total delicious decadence, knowing that there is at least one other person out there who is lazy too.

Deb

      Dear Nomaders

Thanks for your long and thoughtful response! and the rest of you too. I'm just taking it pretty slow with Awakening. I did call the Center, but I had kind of an unsatisfactory response. Let's just say I didn't bond very well with the person who happened to answer the phone.

I know that they recommend sitting up, and going somewhere special and all that. I know that would be ideal. Maybe it's because I don't have a long standing regular practice of meditation that I have such a hard time clearing the space for it. I've been an on and offer, (mostly off) for years.

I seem to be in a less than ideal space right now. If I can just wake up and clap those headphones on while I'm still in bed, I seem to be mostly fine. Although there are those occasional interruptions, which aren't really too bad. If I get up, go downstairs, get the dogs out, etc etc, the next thing you know I'm having a cup of coffee and starting my day. I think that staying in bed gives me the fantasy that I'm actually getting that extra hour of sleep.

Are there any other lazy holosyncers out there? I still feel its better to do it less than ideal than not do it. At least I've kept it up, for 3 months now! My sleep hasn't totally settled down since I've started the program. I'm waiting for the time when I feel totally rested at 7 hours.

When I first got the program, I read all the material. Maybe its time to go back and read it again. But I'm enjoying hearing from those of you who are more experienced! Maybe one day I'll be able to offer reassuring advice to someone else who is doing it less than perfect. Hope so!

Hi all,

My husband and I started the Awakening Prologue about three weeks ago. We just started the hour session. I have meditated most of my life, but this is the first time I've really experienced a deep meditation. We've done the hour session twice. The first time we were interrupted three times at the beginning of Immersion so we stopped after 45 minutes. The second time we managed to not get interrupted. From the beginning my husband went to sleep. I didn't until the third session. One Saturday we did it early in the morning and at our usual time both of us wanted to do the mediatiion again, but since they warn against it we didn't but now I realize that it would not have been a problem as long as we don't overdo it. I too get a 'meditation' headache, but it never lasts over thirty minutes and I don't take otcs or perscription drugs. We just take vitamins. I am 60 and could easily keep up with my grandkids before holosync, but now I have more energy than before.
I want to introduce my mother to it but she is very skeptical and I would have to buy it for her because she is on a fixed income. I have had some great benefits as well. I am slightly dyslexic ... until holosync I had trouble reading children's books to my grandkids. for the last two weeks I have read to them with no problem...they visit every weekend and It's nice to be able to read without stumbling over simple words.

I am so glad I found this site so I can talk to other Holosync people.

Barb

Sorry , some of my message was missing from the last post. I think it has to do with MS Word's special characters??

Only my 2 cents worth…::))…

There has been a good deal of personal family crisis in my life recenlty, and I feel that I am far more centered and able to cope because of the use of the program. It’s really great to hear that you can stay centered and this is one of the area’s I feel has/is especially beneficial from the beginning of the program. At the same time, I must also admit that on occasion and depending on the circumstance I still allow myself to be part of the drama instead of just flowing with it:(

Yes, I have a problem with the whole hour business. In the time that I've been using it, I've experimented with sitting up, propping up on pillows, lying down, etc, and boy, do I have a tough time staying still. So, that's one question I have. How much moving around before you throw yourself out of entrainment? Is the key thing keeping your eyes closed? or what?

I always close my eyes and set the expectation that I will stay still and focused. Yes, I will reposition myself and my focus does change depending on the moment. If my initial intention was to focus on a specific area, and I recognize my focus has moved, then I’ll bring it back to my original intention. Sometimes I just simply let my mind decide what to focus on (or not, quiet stillness is good as well) and I try not to analyze.

I’m not an expert on the entrainment part but I think what is happening is:

  1) If your eyes are open you’re going to create higher brainwave frequencies.

  2) If your eyes are open and you’re moving I believe that these frequencies will be even higher.

As an FYI, HS technology aims to bring you from beta to delta in 20 minutes. The next 40 minutes is in delta. The first half hour has bells to try and keep you awake; the last half hour is just the background stuff.

I do believe that HS will synchronize your brain to lower frequencies regardless of what you do but there will be a bigger mix of the higher ones. Probably the only way to see this is through an EEG machine and this is on my “wish” list but hasn’t manifested itself yet, LOL.

Below are the brainwave frequencies from Beta through Delta.

Beta emited when we are consciously alert, or we feel agitated, tense, afraid, with frequencies ranging from 13 to 60 pulses per second in the Hertz scale.

Alpha when we are in a state of physical and mental relaxation, although aware of what is happening around us, its frequency are around 7 to 13 pulses per second.

Theta more or less 4 to 7 pulses, it is a state of somnolence with reduced consciousness.

Delta when there is unconsciousness, deep sleep or catalepsy, emitting between 0.1 and 4 cycles per second.

As and FYI, your question would be a great question for the CRI support center.

My last remaining thought is to remember that whatever you are experiencing is just what you should be and the knowledge above is just knowledge. I wouldn’t try to force anything; just being aware of it is good enough.

The next question has to do with interruptions. I try to listen to it first thing in the morning, before I'm really fully awake, and I do tend to get interrupted periodically with my dogs jumping on me, or my husband not realizing I've got the headphones on and talking to me, or a sick friend calling from time to time. It really gripes me when I'm 15 or 20 minutes into “The Dive” , and this happens. I don't know quite what to do. Sometimes I continue where I left off, sometimes I go back and start over, sometimes I just quit.

    1) I would call the CRI support line and discuss this with them since they probably have the most experience

    2) My thoughts…If I stop listening for more then 2-3 minutes, I will either just stop for the day or I start over from the beginning. How much time will I continue listening is dependant on a lot of variables? What level am I at? How long have I been listening to this level? How long was I listening before I was interrupted? I may start listening and decide then.

NOTE: This is what I’ve experienced and I call the “Holosync Headache”… If I been listening for lets say 10-15 minutes and I’m interrupted for more then 2-3 minutes, and then just put the headsets back on and continue, I usually get a mean headache that takes about a day to settle down. I haven’t found any aspirins that work on this headache yet, lol. I believe the issue is the HS technology puts me directly into a delta brainwave state without slowly immersing into it. It’s like a “brain freeze” headache after stuffing a large frozen snowcone into your mouth on a hot/humid 100 degree(F) day.

Kind Regards,

  Larry

Hi Lynn,

Here are my 2 cents worth…::))… and I apologize for the long winded anawers ...

There has been a good deal of personal family crisis in my life recenlty, and I feel that I am far more centered and able to cope because of the use of the program. It’s really great to hear that you can stay centered and this is one of the area’s I feel has/is especially beneficial from the beginning of the program. At the same time, I must also admit that on occasion, and depending on the circumstance, I still allow myself to be part of the drama instead of just flowing with it:(

As an FYI, HS technology aims to bring you from beta(higher freq's) to delta(lower freq's) in 20 minutes. The next 40 minutes is in delta. The first half hour has bells to try and keep you barely awake; the last half hour doesn't use bells.

I do believe that HS will synchronize your brain to lower frequencies regardless of what you do but there may be a bigger mix of the higher ones witht the lower ones. Probably the only way to see this is through an EEG machine and this is on my “wish” list but hasn’t manifested itself yet, LOL.

Below are the brainwave frequencies from Beta through Delta.
<p style="margin-left: 1in; I wouldn’t try to force anything; just being aware of it is good enough.

The next question has to do with interruptions.
      Hi Lynn!

I totally hear you about interruptions. Here's what I do; I have a special spot in the house where I sit and do my meditation, I had this before I used Holosync. It's good for two things; I'm in a more "centered" frame of mind for meditation in this space, and all people in the house know that if I'm sitting here, I'm not to be disturbed. I don't take any phone calls, and no one bothers me unless it's an emergency. Beyond that, I just have to make the time to have an hour, and I make a pact with myself that I'll just pay attention to my discomfort with sitting still. =) I hope this helps! I'd actually like an answer to the entrainment question myself in regards to sitting still... it's a pact that I try to keep all the time, but I don't always succeed.

Blessings,
Elizabeth

I'm new to the group, and also so glad to have found it. I was wondering why Bill Harris didn't have a forum as well, so thanks for shedding some light there.

I've been using holosync quite regularly since early May. There has been a good deal of personal family crisis in my life recenlty, and I feel that I am far more centered and able to cope because of the use of the program.

Yes, I have a problem with the whole hour business. In the time that I've been using it, I've experimented with sitting up, propping up on pillows, lying down, etc, and boy, do I have a tough time staying still. So, that's one question I have. How much moving around before you throw yourself out of entrainment?
      Hi Hae and Deb,

Welcome to the pod!

Just as Gem says you'll find lots of supportive people here, and though the forum can be quiet at times, people always reply as soon as someone has a question, concern or wants to share an experience.

Pelle

Thanks for the welcomes, Gem and Hae.

Hae, do read as much of the information that you can, especially the paper that tells you to read it before using. There are two things that are required-- First is to keep your headphones on until it is finished, and second is to keep your eyes closed. Beyond that you can think about whatever you like, or fall asleep if that happens. Meanwhile, watch your mailbox. He'll send you some extra goodies in the mail.

I've also loaned the CDs to my dad, and he is enjoying them too.

Gem, it's interesting what you said about the Centerpointe forum not working out well. IMHO, because Holosync is marketed to people all across the spectrum of beliefs and situations, I can imagine many of them with inner issues would become rather grumpy as their yucky stuff comes bubbling up.

Deb

Thanks Gem. I guess having a forum on their site might be bad for business now that i think of it.

Hae

Hi - and a big WELCOME to both of you!!!

Not to shoot down your ideas, but many years ago (probably around six or seven now) Centerpointe did have a forum, and it ended up in such a maelstrom of harsh words and feelings (not going to go into specifics at this point), that Bill closed it down. Many participants then formed their own forums (a couple different ones), some of which exist still today, although at times they hardly appear to be "holosync" forums.

I've tried out a few of them. While there are perhaps not as many regular postings here, we are a very supportive bunch, and I feel pretty level-headed and sincere in our quest to use Holosync for self-improvement. Personally, I don't think you'll find a better forum than this one with regards to good and helpful Holosync discussion.

Just my fifty cents worth....

Gem

      Hi Deb!

Welcome to the pod. I just purchased Awakening Prologue and will be receiving it in the mail shortly so we can compare notes on how the program is working for us.

As for a forum on their site, thats a great idea. Why don't you suggest it to Centerpointe? I would shoot them an email, you never know.

Take care
Hae

Hi. I'm glad I found this group. I wish I'd found it before my purchase--I might have taken the plunge a bit earlier. I did as much research on the web as I could, as I was choosing between Holosync, Hemisync, and Silva Method.

I started the first installment the beginning of July. I'm finally settling down with it now, where I don't keep thinking, "Oh, when will it end?" I've never meditated for a full hour, so that part took getting used to.

The biggest side-effect I've found is a happy anticipation--like I felt on Christmas Eve when I was seven.

Anyhow, I'm glad this group was started. It's a shame Bill Harris doesn't have a forum at his site.

Deb
