I've been using the Thompson CDs along with the Holosync.  I really love them.  They almost never fail to take me into a deep meditative state and they even seem to help me get to that state more easily with the Holosync, too (i was starting to get 'flat' listening to the Holosync, but the Thompson CDs have intitiated some more spark into the Holosync).

I've got Thompson's “Awakened Mind System 2.0” and also his 2-CD “Awakened Mind System” set.  Also, i went to his website and got his Epsilon and Lambda discs (couldn't resist those descriptions).  But I don't like them as much as the Awakened Mind ones.  The binaural beats are very audible in them – loud and very low/deep and constant.  The music is more monotonous, too.  Not really music… more like “sound mantras/chanting”, if that makes any sense.  Although it took me to some interesting places in my mind, it didn't feel as peaceful and balanced as the Awakened Mind ones and the Holosync

Have any of you had any experience with the CDs of Dr. Jeffrey Thompson?  When I was still very new to all this neurotechnology (I guess in the mid 80s), I went to visit Jeffrey at his office in (I believe) Solana Beach, CA.  He had all kinds of light and sound devices, sound tables, EEG equipment.  I was absolutely fascinated at the time with the potential of all these techniques.  Fast-forward to the present, and Dr. Thompson has produced many CDs with binaural beat frequencies and other techniques.  You can see some of his stuff at
http://www.neuroacoustic.com, plus lots of the material is available at Amazon.  Not particularly expensive either.  I'm curious to see how this material stacks up against the Holosync CDs.

Hi:

I have the “Awakened Mind” CD - a friend of mine gave it to me.

At first I didn't think it had much “ooomph” in it.  But it seemed to be somewhat soothing, so I kept playing it off and on.  Now when I play it, there seems to be some major stuff happening for me.  I use it also on occasion when I'm experiencing some stronger hits from holosync - just seems to mellow me out.

My method of listening to it is probably questionable, though, as I generally put it on at night, with headphones, and hit the repeat button.  It will generally run through both 30 minute sections at least two, sometimes three times, before my body just says “Enough already!” ;)

Regards,

Gem

I was wondering if anyone ever did work with Jeffery?  I studied under him (including dolphin and Nasa Space sounds) a few years ago.  I am trained in doing the beginner level of his neuroacustical work with a sound table. ( the vibrations emit through a massage table).  I had some major shifts because of his neuroacustic vibrational work.  I also have had some intense movement with quartz crystal bowels.  I use a number of Dr Thompson's sounds/music/vibrations with my sound table (both with clients and with myself. I have been stunned (oh me of little faith lol) by the effects of this on my clients (I work with HIV poz  persons).  I am so glad you are both familiar with his work.  He is in Encineda right now and in practice there.

I got the Awakened Mind CD and have been using the same process as you, Gemstar.  I listen at night before I fall asleep (but only one cycle).  So, I'm doing Holosync in the morning and Dr. Jeff at night!  I hope there isn't some bizarre neural interference going on!  I do notice it to be soothing and a bit “spacey”.  Strangely enough, I don't seem to fall asleep listening to it, but go into a meditative/hypnogogic state for the whole thing.  I always know when it finishes (whereupon I remove the headphones and go to sleep).  That was a bit surprising because I thought that laying on my back, in bed, at bedtime would just put me right out.  I can understand how you might get the “that's enough” signal…I start to feel that right at the end of track 2.

I will probably head up to Encinitas and try to connect with Jeffrey - he's not far from where I live.  It's been so long since I last saw him, and back then, all this stuff was very new and unusual.  I do recall that he had the acoustic tables even back then.  It would be great to see him again and talk about all that has transpired in the past 20-some years.

I'm looking foward to working with his material - I'm assuming that it is complementary to the H/S work.

Just an add to my post above………

Between moving over to P1:2 from P1:1, I decided to give it another spin or two, since it's been about a month since I last used it.

I found it to be incredibly more powerful for me, than it has been, (and to some extent, even more powerful feeling than the P1:1 CD I had been using for over two months), so I'm wondering now if the affects of it increase as one's brain is reformatted (for lack of a better term) from using the holosync.  I've noticed this before - and that's part of the reason I waited to use it this time - to see if indeed it had more “oooomph”.  It did!

Has anyone else noticed this, or is this yet another thing that is somewhat unique to my “querkiness”.  Understand, I am NOT complaining - it was majorly “trippy”. If it continues like this with each new level of holosync, I'm a very happy camper, indeed.

Cheers!

Does anyone know if this product you are discussing is the same as the Insight CD by Awakened Minds? www.immrama.org/insight/insight.html This one has an affiiate program so it's actually advertised in lots of places.

It says on that webpage that Awakened Minds Inc has changed names to Immrama Institute, so that would indicate that the CDs are the same.
I also think the CD covers are the same as before.

No, I'm pretty certain that this “Insight CD” and “Awakened Minds, Inc.” has nothing to do with Jeff Thompson.  You can find a link to Jeff's material in my original post above.  One of his (many) CDs is called “The Awakened Mind System”.  See the link to Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Awakened-Mind-System-Jeffrey-Thompson/dp/B0002A2VFK
