6 weeks using holosync and needing support

meera said Mar 1, 2008, 8:44 AM:

Hi Guys,

I'm new to blogging and to this forum.
Just posted a message but I think I did it in the wrong spot so I'm trying again.

Been doing the meditation for the past 6 weeks and struggiling with major bouts of upheaval.
In all fairness, I'm going through a lot in my personal and professional life at the moment.
I have also stuggled with anxiety and depression.
Hence, I came to meditation as a way to work through these issues.

But I find that I'm really struggling.
There are days like today when the anxiety is so huge I'm afaid to continue.
Is it possible that  the meditation may not work for everyone?
Perhaps I have too much resistance.

I've been in regular contact with the Support Coaches.
They have reminded me to remain a witness, but its so hard given the intensity of upheaval I've been experiencing.

Any support, suggestions, insights would be very much appreciated.

Hi Meera, and welcome…..

I'd like to suggest, if you haven't done so, to look through the posts here from other people, some of whom have had similar situations to yours.  You'll find much to help, I believe.

If you are really sure that it is the Holosync that is making things even more intense for you presently, then I'd suggest backing off a bit.  Either just do the Dive without the Immersion for a while, or back off for one or two days when you feel like you're being swamped, and just do regular meditation at those times.  There is no rush to push toward anything.  Some people require a bit of adjustment from the “norm” as indicated by Centerpointe - even they will suggest backing off a bit at times.

Don't set yourself up for failure by thinking that you “have too much resistance”.  We all deal with stress differently.  Perhaps you need (if you haven't already) to find someone who is capable of giving you some guidance on how to settle things down in your life a bit.  As you've indicated you struggle with anxiety and depression, perhaps getting to the root of why you do so would be helpful.  NLP and hypnosis are both good methods to do that.

I'm sure others here will also be able to give you some input, and please do continue to share your experiences so that we can help you.

Gem ~ :-) ~

Thank  you Gemstar for your supportive words.
By the way, what is NLP?  I know what it stands for but not much else about how it works.

Hi Meera:

You said: “By the way, what is NLP?  I know what it stands for but not much else about how it works.”

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (or NLPsychology, because it deals a lot with the “soul” side of things) is a process where observations have been made over time as to the best way to get the best results in various areas of life, and then “programming” those processes into the mind so that they become “hard-wired” for better performance.  (I am trying to keep this as non-technical as possible, so this may not sound too “scientific” ;) ).

We process a lot through words - that's where the linguistic part comes in.  Even, and probably especially, as a small child just learning language, we keyed into the words and the tones that were used to express them, to form a basis of patterns in our lives.  Sometimes we have had words given to us, and then because of emotions that we (or others) attached to those words, they become 'wired' into our neurological patterns.  Many of these patternings were beneficial at the time they were installed (ie; don't touch the stove top - it's hot!) - other patterns may not have been as helpful.  Because all of those patterns are there in the filing-system of our great hairy computers (well, for most ;) ), in each instance of life, the subconscious mind fires out the pattern that seems to be most appropriate for us to use.

In terms, then, of what may be creating anxiety or depression in a person's life, there may be patterns that are running that are no longer of value or that perhaps never were of valued, but somehow got stuck into the works.  The idea then of using NLP is to create new patterns quickly enough by anchoring them to other useful patterns in the life, that the old patterns fade into the background, and eventually are locked away as no longer useful.  It can be used in conjunction with traditional Hypnosis, or on its own - in my work I find using a combination of both seems to produce quicker results.  Sometimes a bit of exploratory work with Hypnosis to get to the “initial sensitizing event” can then be followed up with one or more NLP techniques to quickly and permanently move the person out of the emotional pain, anchoring in “new” knowledge that will then allow the person to function fairly quickly in a much less stressful or depressed manner.

Bill Harris' Life Principles Integration Process courses (the link to these can be found in the “Participants” section on the Centerpointe web-site) have a strong NLP component to them.

Anyway, that's the short course.  There are many good sources of information, as well as being able to find practitioners or teachers that can be found, just by plugging “NLP” into your favourite search engine.

Hoping this has been helpful…..

Hi meera,

Gem has already given good advice. I too would suggest slowing down if you get too much resistance. Simply doing the Dive only, will push you a whole lot less, but will let you keep the daily habit of meditating with Holosync.

Something that can work for me is to take a brisk walk, or any other form of exercise, to get the energy flowing. Then, do some light stretching. That can release a lot of tension and resistance on a purely physical level. Trying to witness doesn't always work when we're stressed out, and then it can be better to do something very concrete and physical.

BTW, welcome to the pod!

Pelle

Hi Pele,

Thank you for the helpful suggestions.

I'm really in no rush.  I just wasn't sure if it was ok to go back to just doing the Dive if I've already been doing the Immersion for a few weeks, especially after being recommended to follow the program as prescribed.

Also, thank you for the concrete suggestions.
I feel I really need concrete tips right now.

Hi Meera,

I agree with both Gem and Pelle.

In my humble opinion (IMHO) Holosync(HS) will help, in due time. Everybody is different.  Some have no upheaval; some have serve upheaval, and everything in-between.  I started some years ago (more then six) and am now a different person from the inside.

I also had work and personal issues but more on the work side.  I wasn't depressed but had some anxiety.  I was also lucky and didn't experience much upheaval; however, I did workout at least 5 times a week and constantly was evaluating myself for thoughts and reactions.  For me the workout was an absolute must for clearing out the mind prior to work.  This allowed me to be the witness and see my actions/reactions.

HS didn't change me; I changed me with HS helping from the inside.  It was a slow progression and didn't happen overnight.  In fact I can’t say exactly when I fully noticed a change, but it did happen. Over time I began understanding what I was doing to me vs. what the world was doing to me.

I read as much as possible on subjects related to personal development as well as health.  This material kept me on track and still does today.  I’m currently reading the Tenth Insight.

Welcome to the forum and feel free to ask as many questions as needed.

Kind Regards,

Nomaders

I think a method such as EFT or Sedona Method would be greatly beneficial in releasing your resistance. Checkout tapping.com for some free walk through sessions.
