BWE beyond Holosync

Marco [no longer around] said Oct 23, 2006, 7:06 AM:

Hello Everyone,

I was introduced to Brainwave Entrainment technology through Centerpointe / Holosync and I am very thankful for what this technology has done for me and how it continues to enable me to grow and improve in my multiple roles in life every single day.

Having said that, I wanted to share with you some information about another company which makes excellent brainwave entrainment and mind programming software. If you've done some research about the topic you have probably encountered numerous companies and products out there, and there's definitely something for everyone.

From my experience with this technology, not one solution works for everyone and while there are some generally common patterns, each person reacts differently to different types of entrainment, and so I find the fact that there are so many options out there something truly excellent, as it increases the potential for this great technology to help more and more people.

Here is a link to my website where I have a brief description and links to related products I personally use and highly recommend. I am very passionate about this technology, holosync and beyond, and how it can help people so, should you be interested in discussing how it can help you, please don't hesitate in contacting me directly @ mbombardi@hotmail.com">mbombardi@hotmail.com or via Zaadz-Mail.

Warm Regards,
Marco

Hi Marco and welcome to the pod!

I checked out your link and it seems to be products by Transparent Corp that you recommend. Is that more of a do-it-yourself deal where you decide the frequency and carrier frequency yourself (I think I've read about such a company in the past)? Is it complicated to use? Can you give some examples of advantages you get from this program that you don't get from Holosync?

Hi Pelle and thank you.

While Transparent also offer ready to use CDs for a number of different needs, my personal preference and recommendation is around their software products, such as Neuro-Programmer  and Mind Stereo , which have many built-in sessions while also providing amazing flexibility for you to create the sessions you want, also going beyond binaural-beats and into other forms of brainwave entrainment.

Again, there's something out there for everyone and not one solution works for everyone, thus my recommendation for something that allows for complete flexibility to experiment and find what works for your needs, all supported by excellent research, great documentation, support and software engineering.

Although I recognize not everyone is interested in learning about the technology before deciding which way to go, another big plus I see of this approach is its cost, which is much lower than many other options and often times when comparing you will see that you can buy a software that empowers you with tremendous flexibility for the price you'd purchase one set of CDs with a one or a few tracks from other companies.

To keep it short, there is much more to brainwave entrainment then what Holosync offers. I do believe Holosync to be an interesting option that has done wonders for many people, but I just like to let people know that there's a whole world of options out there as well.

From a “technical” standpoint and keeping it simple, the core of the Holosync program is set around Delta and Sub-Delta meditation and while some people greatly benefit from it, others could actually benefit more from Beta “meditation”,  or Alpha, or Theta, or different combinations of them. It all depends on what the individual needs are and what works for them.

In addition to that, the products by Transparent also include an amazing number of features and documentation around NLP, which can (optionally) be combined in the meditation sessions.

There's definitely much more to this conversation, but I hope this helps bringing some additional clarity to this option.

Kind Regards,
Marco

Hey Marco,
Would you say that Holosync is only Delta and sub-Delta? The way I understand it Holosync starts with Alpha and then brings you down gradually to Theta, Delta and Sub-Delta. BTW how low is sub-Delta?

Best wishes,
Pelle

Hi Pelle,

You are correct in saying that Holosync starts somewhere in Alpha and works its way down to Delta and Sub-Delta (0-1hz). Having said that, the target frequency for the Holosync sessions is in the Delta / Sub-Delta range, and starting in Alpha and gradually slowing down to the target frequency is very much a standard approach for slower entrainment sessions such as Theta and Delta.

When we are awake and with our eyes open we're operating mostly in Beta; when we close our eyes we immediately start producing more Alpha, so starting in Alpha and gradually stepping down allows for the brain the time to follow the entrainment.

So, in the Holosync solution, The Dive is basically responsible for taking the user from an awake Beta/Alpha state all the way down to the target Delta, and Immersion is responsible for keeping the entrainment at the desired level, whatever that Immersion track is such as 2hz, 1.5hz, 0.5hz, 0.3hz., where the many of the benefits suggested in Centerpointe marketing materials should come from.

To answer your question, I am saying that Holosync is “only Delta and Sub-Delta” because that is its target range and where the results should come from (besides the subliminals which requires a different conversation). The other frequencies involved are only there as a way of getting the user down to the target range.

When I suggest that there are other options, what I'm saying is that some people might, for example, benefit from using an SMR session instead , which is a frequency in the Beta range known to be helpful with developing relaxed attention, improving concentration, reading speed, insomnia, ADD/ADHD and even depression, anxiety and stress. Such session could be designed in few different ways, but might also start in Alpha and then speed up to SMR in Beta instead of slowing down through Alpha and Theta to get to Delta.

I hope this is helpful. I'd be happy to discuss it further if you have any more questions.

Have a great weekend!
Marco

Transparent Corp seems to offer a great product and I am contemplating trying it myself.

However, I still don't understand if their program (neuro-programmer) includes progressively lower carrier frequencies. Does the lowering of carrier frequencies only work when using binaural beats, and not when using isochronic beats?

My main reason for using Holosync is the progressive lowering of carrier frequencies. If that isn't possible using Neuro-programmer, then I would view it as a valuable complement (that I might buy myself) but not as a replacement.

Please enlighten me Marco :)

Ah, you will need to do that yourself. ;)

The lowering of carrier frequencies is really a Holosync “creation”. As far as I know there are no indepdendent studies that show that the lowering of carrier frequencies really do anything. Actually, some studies show that higher carrier frequencies produce more entrainment when using binaural beats.

Having said that, and while science doesn't really seem to back what Centerpointe claims, I have used Holosync and also created my own version of Holosync sessions with Neuro-Programmer (based on a template by another NP user) and have noticed the “deeper effect”.

Neuro-Programmer is a very flexible program that allows you to create pretty much any entrainment session you want, with some limitations for very advanced users. You can create binaural-beats sessions, monaural sessions, sessions that don't require headphones, isochronic sessions, embed entrainment in music, so on and so forth, all in addition to the dozens of built-in sessions for many specific uses and some really great documentation and support.

As I've mentioned, you can even create sessions which are very similar to Holosync and also simulate the progressive carrier lowering if you want to. It does take a little learning of the program and the technology, but the documentation is great, the company and peer support is really good and at the end of the day you end up really understanding the full potential of the technology and how to best use it to achieve the results you are looking for.

Personally, I started using Holosync, then when I discovered NP I began using it as a complement to Holosync as you suggest, I then also purchased some other CDs which I found really good such as the Awakened Mind System by Dr. Jeffrey D. Thompson and some other ones. Today I no longer use Holosync and instead I use NP2, also exploring the NLP/Mind programming aspect of it and these other CDs depending on the goal I have at the moment. Photic entrainment is also great and can actually produce very powerful entrainment effects. I really enjoy using the LED glasses along with SMR/Beta sessions.

I hope this helps to clarify a bit more. I'll be happy to answer any other questions to the best of my ability as well. If you want to get some other thoughts and opinions around the topic, the TransparentCorp community is an awesome place to post your questions: http://www.transparentcorp.com/community/forum/

I’ve worked a little with the Beyond Being CDs from Transparent Corp. They’re pretty interesting and a few good experiences have come from it. But with the time I’ve been putting into Holosync, those can be an afterthought for me at times.
I was interested in getting NP2, but am out of luck at the moment since they don’t have a Mac version out yet. It does seem very interesting though.

Hi QuietCreation,

I have seen a number of requests for a MAC version of NP2, but TransparentCorp seems to be focusing the resources they have more toward enhancing their line of products (for PC) .

I am not very familiar with MAC but I remember a few different options for running Windows programs on a MAC - from using Virtual Machines, dual booting the new Intel based MACs  with WinXP, etc. Perhaps one of these options would work for you.

In any case, their CDs are pretty good as you've experienced with the Beyond Being. There are also some other great CDs out there by other companies. One collection I really enjoy is the one put out by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson (http://www.therelaxationcompany.com/brainwave-music.html). They sound amazing and are pretty inexpensive.

Would there be anything in particular you are looking to gain from the brainwave entrainment work you are doing?

I have actually thought about that- my Mac is capable of running Windows so I may need to get XP running eventually. But I may need to order a special version for the Mac(if I remember right).

I got Beyond Being partly just for meditation as well as the possibility of out of body experiences, though that hasn’t happened. Overall I’ve been searching for that feeling of ‘connectedness’ to the universe.

Thank you for the info! I’ll have to check that site out!

You are very welcome!

This feeling of  'connectedness' or 'oneness' is often reported when people meditate in the Alpha range, although I have also read some suggestions that Gamma might play a role and help getting there.

On that point, here are my humble $0.02 on some questions you might want to ask yourself: How will that 'connectedness' feel like so I know when I have achieved it? What impact will achieving that have in my life? What will I do when I achieve it?

Those are good questions. And I don’t think anyone would completely know how that’d feel until they achieved it. I very much doubt that anything like these can do it alone either, but conscious action in improving life. Or accepting it as it is. Which would probably be much easier if some of our minds would allow it. But I would hope that a sense of being connected would allow greater compassion, especially to the people that bug us. Maybe it’d help us be more useful to the world around us.

Hi Everybody,

IMHO, I think that improving life and greater compassion are just a part of the full connectiveness and I agree with you that “I don’t think anyone would completely know how that’d feel until they achieved it”. To me it’s something like looking at a pencil and realizing how the pencil came to be.

From the big bang …leading up to the trees…stick drawling…learning to write… (without lead)…discovering how to use wood for the pencil…discovering lead and it’s properties…combining wood and lead…manufacturing…and finally the pencil. All of the “…” are billions of untold stories, years of learning from one generation to another, of course there was so much more added then just the human race that the “…’s” helped out with. Include the energy from the sun…water…wind…fire…light/energy from the universe, … It goes on and on.

Then after starting to understand this then think deeper into the invisible connectiveness between “all”. Like invisible gravity which we can’t see but know is there, the connectiveness is also there. The connectiveness is infinite and unfortunately with our human shell we are similar to weak active and passive sonar. Some of us naturally send and receive better then others. I guess the good news is that the sonar may get better with practice, at least that is what the seeker seeks, the watcher watches, and the finder finds.

Have a great one,
