Beautiful images you've painted.  I savor them.

I'll listen in the wee small hours of the morning.

All the pretty horses - I liked the way they mixed photographs and illustrations.  The harp music was beautiful.

Thanks, Laurie. It is one of my favourite lullabys.

I just discovered this one…

Yiddish Lullaby - you know I'm a sap for trees (no pun intended).  The simplicity of the animation was nice.  And while I didn't understand the words, I liked the singer's voice.

I liked the fact that it's relatively long compared to other lullabys, and of course the sound of Yiddish (which I don't understand either :))

Brahms - oh my gosh, but this is lovely.

Dov, you should have listened to THIS last night when you couldn't sleep.  And if you respond to this post right away (which would be ludicrous because it's 3:30am in Sweden), then I'll know you're having another sleepless night.

And while I didn't understand one single word, it was beautiful to listen to.  Her photographs (not her voice) remind me very much of a dark-haired Barbara Streisand.

How sweet - the video, Dov.

From the “cellar to the kitchen”, may a blessed and peaceful eye always be with you. ()

This is my favorite lullaby.

I sing it to the little 'uns when I baby sit.

That must be so calming for them :) though not as much as if you had the drums and electric guitars as such to creat the whole effect…

flowerchildatheart [no longer around] said May 20, 6:27 AM:

This was my favorite lullaby to sing to my children when they were babies/tots.

Not only did the scene from Dumbo make me cry every single time
(Dumbo and his mommy are separated because she is imprisoned for showing her “mommy claws” when Dumbo is being tormented over his big ears),
but I could never once get through singing the lullaby without tears,
particularly during a period when my little girl was the brunt of some mean-spirited scapegoating.

Every mommy knows the heartache of watching your little one suffer and how fast those mommy claws come out in their defense.
-If there was a “mad elephant” circus car for human mommies I'd do more than my share of time.
