how to send greetings to gaian friends?

Hello, the (relatively) new feature of sending greetings is appreciated- It's easy to send to non-members of Gaia, with their email, but why is there not a possibility to chose to send to my Gaian friends? whose emails I don't have- Am I missing something obvious?

Mike, check your email and see  if you've got one from me. I wrote 'mikeydineen' for Recipient's Email as instructed.

They say we just have to write the Gaia members' subdomain.

OK Meenakshi, but are you Meenakshi@gaia.com then? and if so, is that not for Gaia plus members only? Or am I really thick? And how come I'm mikeydineen, ? which is a combo of my real name and my nick name

Did you get a Gaia greeting from me, Mikey? If so, then although it says 'recipient email' all we have to do, is write the web address of our friends. When I click on your name, I go to your profile page. That tells me your web address, otherwise called 'subdomain'. Mine is meenakshi. Yours is mikeydineen.

Now if you didn't get a Gaia greeting from me; then this is all wrong. So-did you?

Hi Mikey,

Meenakshi is exactly right.  You don't need to put any e-mail address in the system.  Just the user's subdomain.  The message should come from whatever e-mail the sender has as their primary address, and it should go to your primary e-mail address. 

So, if you wanted to send a greeting to me, in the e-mail field, you would just put matthew.  To meenakshi, you would put meenakshi.  To Mikey_Dee, you would put mikeydineen.

I was also a bit confused about what the 'subdomain' exactly is when I first read this thread. Until I realised that it must be the first part of one's Gaia profile's web address. So if Mikey goes to his profile page and sees in his internet browser's address window the address http://mikeydineen.gaia.com then mikeydineen is his subdomain, right?
