How To: Filter the Activity list

You can filter the display of activity list on your Activity page and your Friends Activity page by using the activity drop down list. Selecting an activity will only display all activities that match the activity type.

For example, if you only want to see all blog activities on your activity page,

-- on your Activity page, select "New Blog Entry" on the Show [ ] Activities drop down list.

If you want to see all blog activity on your Friends' Activity page,

-- on your Friends' Activity page, select "New Blog Entry" on the Show [ ] Activities drop down list.

You can specify your friends' activities you want to display on your "Friend's Activity" widget and page. For example, if you only want to see certain friends' activities like blogging and photos you can disable the other activities so that they don't clutter your Friends' Activity page.

Here's how to do it:

- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar

- Under the Profile Widgets section, click on Friends Widget Settings

- You'll see a list of activities that are displayed on your Friends' Activity page. Uncheck that activities that you don't want to keep track of.

- Click Save

There you have it! Piece of cake :)

The Activity feature keeps a history of activity and your friend's activity on the site.

To access it either, just click the appropriate link in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar. You'll be able to keep track of where on Gaia you've been posting and where your friends are contributing their time. :)

To deactivate your Activity widget:

-- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar

-- In the Profile Widgets section, click on Deactivate My Activity Widget

To activate your Activity widget:

-- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar

-- On the Profile Widgets section, click on Activate My Activity Widget

To deactivate your Friends Activity widget:

-- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar

-- On the Profile Widgets section, click on Deactivate Friends Activity Widget

To activate your Friends Activity widget:

-- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar

-- On the Profile Widgets section, click on Activate Friends Activity Widget

The Activity feature comes with granular privacy controls. But for starters, the default activity privacy settings are:

-- Only you and your friends can see your Activity page.

-- Only you and your friends can see your Activity and your Friends' Activity widgets on your profile page.

-- Only you have access to your friends' activities. (That is, your Friends' Activity page is only visible to you.)

-- All your activities are visible to only your friends.

If you don't like the default privacy settings, you can specify the activities you want to share with your friends and other members. This setting will affect what others see in their "Friends Activity" widget and on your "Activity" widget and page.

Here's how to do it.

-- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your sidebar. On the Privacy section, click on Activity Privacy (Note: You can also access the Activity Privacy settings from Your Activity page by clicking on "Change your privacy settings.")

-- On the Activity Privacy settings page, for each activity type, choose who you want to show your activity to (see access level below). These are the people who will be able see your activities on your activity page and widget and on their respective Friends' Activity page and widgets.

Me only - only you can see the activity on your activity page.

Friends only - only you and your friends can see the activity. The activity will not be available to all other Gaia members.

Gaia Members only - all Gia members can see the activity. The activity will not be available non-Gaia members (or logged out Gaia Members).

Anyone - the activity is public. The activity will be available to all Gaia Members and non-Gaia members.

Finally, you also have the option to limit who can see your Activity page and widgets altogether. Here's how to do it:

-- Click on Settings in the 'Me' tab of your Gaia sidebar

-- On the Privacy section, select the level of access on the "Show my Activity widget to" drop down box.

For example, if you choose "Anyone" this means that your Activity page and widget will be PUBLIC -- visible to all Gaia members and non-Gaia members. However, take note that the privacy settings of each activity (see settings above) will still take into effect.
