Is the "New" feature for pod posts changing?

I THINK the red/orange “new” button would light up next to a pod name when a new message was posted. I THINK that till yesterday, clicking on it, took us to the most recent post; just like clicking on the green arrow in the “My Groups” view.

This morning, there were two changes:
1. The New button still lit up with a new post; but now took me to a list of Recent posts –YAY! I LOVE THIS!

2. There was a blue line below the New. This is now gone.

Question - am I right? Is the New button changed; or was it [shamefaced smiley required here] always so?

Couldn't find the answer through the search function, so I'm asking it. Apologize if it's the wrong board.
