Christianity – a hoax.

Dear friends
Lately I have read the book, Misquoting Jesus, - to me a very interesting reading because he confirms my thoughts upon the Christian religion.
(I wonder why I tend to appreciate books or thoughts that are close to my own!?)
One of his statements is like spoken out of my mouth ( which it actually has been several times): ‘ This ( the Bible) was a human book from beginning to end. It was written by different human authors at different times and in different places to address different needs.’
And one of the needs for the authors of the New Testament was – to create a new religion - to detach the Christian Sect from the Judaism, where it was born.
He clearly shows how the texts of the New Testament have been tampered with in order to make the text easier to understand for the copyists and – to fit the new belief better.
On page 190 he says: ‘ Clearly we have come a long way from Jesus, a Palestinian Jew who kept Jewish customs, preached to his Jewish compatriots, and taught his Jewish disciples the true meaning of the Jewish law.’
I we care to read some of the newly found Gnostic gospels like the gospel of Thomas,
We will see that he is right – Jesus did not preach a new way of seeing things, no new All-loving God, but still the old vengeful god. DO AS I ORDER - - OR……
That Jesus was a Rabbi trying to make his people find their way back to the genuine religious way and not a preacher of new is also clearly seen in the Qur’an - in
Al-Baqara , verse 88 and following.
The Christian belief –system is made up by people ( Such as Luke) who wanted a new religion separated from its Jewish roots. So a lot of stories grew up around the Jesus figure. All stories believed to be true by his followers.
But how can a simple ordinary man like Jesus( Buddha and Krishna too) become deified if he wasn’t a deity from the beginning???
The Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen give the answer to this question (in the fairy tale called ‘ It’s Quite True!’) – they are very good to meditate on if we want to learn about the human mind – our own mind – and how it works.

Not that I don’t like the message in the Christian belief – an all-loving God.
To me that’s better than the condemning, judgemental Satan that the Jews and the Muslims believe in. I cannot ‘believe’ in such a god.
If I am wrong and this nasty God is THE GOD – well then I’ll happily go to Hell for it.
