Align with your True Identity

Has life a purpose? Is there a higher power? Where did I come from? What will happen after I die?

Most human beings have an ego-a sense of Self-that is only a meager representation of the truth. The swan that was born among ducks derived its sense of Self by how the ducks saw him: ugly. Where does your sense of Self come from? How do you identify yourSelf?

You may say, “I'm an accountant, mother of three daughters and a recovering trauma survivor.” But is that who you are? Is that the essence of your being? Take a deep breath, close your eyes and strip yourself of all your labels, possessions and character traits. What's left?

           
The truth of the matter is that you are Spirit. Not just an apprentice Spirit … you are one hundred percent, full-fledged, genuine Spirit. You don't have to do anything to become Spirit … you are Spirit.

The truth for me is that

Source,
Creator,
and Co-Creator with God

And so is everyone else. 

There is no separation between any of us and God.   God is pure, unconditional Love.  That is His essence and therefore it is Our essence.  The essence of our soul, our true self. 

We forget this when we enter a body and begin a human life within it.  We choose to express ourselves within that human body, but our body, emotions, mind, beliefs, and personality ARE NOT who we Are, they are not Our true self.  They assist us in learning our lessons and evolving spiritually as a spark of God within a human body, but they are not Us. 

The secret, and greatest accomplishment in life, is understanding the most important thing we can do is connect to our true self, the God we ARE.  When we do this, we allow our inner Light to shine forth from the physical body we are in, radiating the Light and Love of God to others. 

This is when life becomes exciting, fulfilling and meaningful.  There certainly is a higher purpose for you.  There is also a higher power, (call it God, Source, Spirit, or whatever).. but you are ONE with that power.  By connecting to this Higher Power, you can BE it and realize that the Light you shine on others is God.

It is time to let your Light shine within and upon us all.  You are the LIght of God.

Most definitely I would say that life does have a purpose, and I do believe that there is a higher power. The nature of this power is love.

Love is creates, heals, restores, and so much more…

You can be defined by your experiences in life, you can be identified in terms of the roles you have assumed in life, but, aligning with my true identity from the position of love is a real interest for me. In this way, I am ascertaining that my life will be an expression of me based on my true nature, rather than a manifestation of the reactive self to life experiences.

My feeling on this is very much in alignment with Jodi and I share a snapshot of my spiritual journey in my site and profile. I am fascinated with the richness and intricate beauty of our life stories, the more I learn to look at things from the view of my soul or higher self. I know when I am connected to the Source and when I am not, when I am in the flo and when I am not.

I do forget again and again to experience WHO I AM NOT in order to find and rediscover WHO I AM! We are all playing an eternal game of hide and seek with ourselves…within my own Self and with others. When I clear our perception and filters and open our heart with joy I can see myself very clearly reflected within you and You can also see yourself in me. You give voice to the songs and poems in my heart and I can listen to every secret wish of yours in Silence. In that magical moment… I realize the World is a multi-faceted Grand Mirror of profound depth, exquisite beauty and unbounded love! There is no need to hide and no need to fear our reflection and projections, when we realize our true Self, which is one with infinite love and life.

My favorite metaphor is one I heard many years ago.  I think that it was Wayne Dyer who said “We are all a cup of God.”

Personally, I believe that God (or whatever name you use) is the sum of all things in Creation, so, by the very definition, we must all be made of God and part of God.  We've put ourselves into a container called a human being, and by putting ourselves into this container, we have created a separation from the rest of all that is God.  Whether that container is a perfectly clear glass that allows us to see the rest of the creation as the same God as ourselves, or whether that container is a completely opaque, impenetrable barrier that keeps us from seeing anything else, that is our choice as we move through life.  And the good news is that we can change our minds, our perceptions, at any time to change the makeup of that container to be whatever we want.

My glass is often cloudy, with my ego's fingerprints all over it.  :-)  But, I do know for sure that no matter how distorted my fingerprints make the glass, everything outside of my glass is still God.

What a beautiful conversation! I love the little exercise of closing your eyes and taking a moment to be with only your essence. What a powerful little tune up that is.

I've spent my life looking for “God,” only to find that the source was right inside of me all the time. You see I had a bone to pick with God about the obvious dysfunction of everything around me throughout my childhood.

It was only after 30 years of searching that I found “Him/Her.” At that same time I discovered that it had been my idea to come here all along. That one was hard to swallow. But, as the path has unfolded and my Earth School classes have come and gone, one by one, my awareness has improved greatly.

I still have that “are we there yet” feeling sometimes. It's like I'm on assignment and as much fun as it can be, I still wish for the assignment to become fruitfully fulfilled. Like some sort of deep yearning that is a program that is just built into who I am. This can lead me to frustrations and impatience if I'm not careful. This is part of the path that is for me to learn to balance and integrate. It feels like my next step. Should be interesting. ;-)

It is truly inspiring to actually witness so many people waking up. This thing with Oprah and Eckart Tolle is HUGE! Think of all the new drops in the enlightened bucket that will be added. Should be fun having ring-side seats to this one.

Nothing to sneeze about

When I am asked to introduce myself, I often wonder what to say. Sure, I can give my name and add a title or two, but is that who I am? My physical form and its egoic consciousness is nothing to sneeze about, but is that who I am? You and I are here for a glorious purpose and our physical expressions are of great importance; however, it is not helpful to identify ourselves with “just” that. Our true identity is so much more!
