Grey Oof! Just saw this now, Siona.... Yeah, flutters I think it was... no, "flaps", but I don't like it much. "Flutter" was the name to replace "Grapevine". Anyway, I just used "tweets" here because it's more readily recognizable. :) (9 months ago)

The Thing of Everything

Tom Yeshe said Jun 27, 2007, 3:04 AM:

For greater clarity, I've slightly expanded my ”Thing Theory.” (It's now fifty words!) :)
I've also given it a new title:

The Thing of Everything

Anything is many things*.

Each and every thing — everything — is something else, so nothing is anything exclusively.

Including everything is the Thing of Everything.

* The scope of “things” is all-inclusive, including all words and all meanings, all thoughts and all theories, from philosophy to physics, from politics to spirituality.

Cheers!
~ Tom

Tom, you'd love this guy I know. He's very low-key and I won't mention his name, but he's actually a master in the Toltec tradition, though you wouldn't know it from the way he speaks or dresses or anything. He talks like this (in a  deep, soothing medicine man voice):

“In that thing (the absolute) there is no thing happening. In that other thing (the relative) there's all sorts of things going on constantly. So we bring those two things together (moves his hands towards each other), and that's it. Easiest thing of all. Just fall in love with that thing (both palms  touching in prayer gesture) , and you don't have to worry about a thing. THAT thing will take care of you, I can guarantee nothing else but that.”

At first it drove me nuts to have my craving for lucid language and intellectual stimulation thwarted. But he knew that and kept thinging at the jugular until he knocked me out.

Grateful doesn't begin to describe what I feel for that thing he does so badly, it's great.

Thanks for that great story, Mascha! I'd love to meet that Toltec master!

With a prayer gesture to you,

All things being equal - did you know that the Dutch word for thing is “ding”?

Thanks, Frans. I now know twice as much Dutch as I did: ding has been added to zaadz.

Hi Tom,

You can strike Zaadz - it’s not a Dutch word. Zaad is seed; I’m not sure why the last “z” was added. Maybe we should ask Brian, unless someone here knows?

So, now you’ve got zaad and ding - that should come in handy if you plan a holiday in Holland!

Mascha!  Beautiful!  The image of two hands “thinging” - like butterflies- a silence that prays as moving wings become Form for the purpose of flight and in that space is Life, Love and Peace!

Dear Portico, Tom, Frans and Adyashanti

may I be so bold as to just come out here and say, you got it !? It sure sounds like you're “gettin' some”, as the street guys say around here. Moreover, you know you are dat thing. Have I forgotten to mention some aspect of this thing? You'll go ahead and fill it in. I rest in seeing that thing everywhere, then fly off into some thought-excursion – sometimes a big to-do, blah blah, boohoo – then return. Meanwhile, this thing is what's dinging along all the time with its own smoooth hum underlying home as well as flighty excursions. Before, during and after, in all the three times, das Ding is doing the dingaling. Nice to know that, huh? So simple.

I bet you anything we could start “the Church of Thing” - and people would flock to it!

I’m just gonna throw this out there: Tom could be our Apostle, Mascha our High Priestess, Portico our Altar Girl (we’re a progressive faction!) and maybe we can get Michael as Altar Boy. I…I - I would like to be the Oracle, if you all agree…pretty please???
