Meditation Happenings

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share an interesting thing that happened to me today. I woke up this morning after having woken up at least 3 times (fully awake, as if it were morning), at 7:45 AM, 10 AM, and 11:30 AM. I had both intense and sad/scary dreams, and then the third I remember was an intense, lucid dream of being another person, in a nearly magical place. At any rate, I woke up in a lucid state as well. There was this feeling of “pressure” around my third eye I usually get after deep meditation, but it was sustained. I felt a general lightness and relaxation of mind. Just a general “mindfulness.” I didn’t feel as much anxiety when I went out into the city, had some lunch. That mindfulness seemed to just remain, and when it faded, I could easily bring it back. Normally, I just get “out of the mood” and it leaves until I take some time out for myself to meditate actively. But today, it was just present all day. As far as I remember, it was never this flowing or easy…or this long, for that matter. Even right now, it’s still there. 

Tonight, I brought that mindfulness down from my surroundings, into my belly/solar plexus. Immediately after I almost felt this “shift” and now, I feel this cooling, relaxing sensation. It’s very relaxing, even though I’m tired. Has anyone experienced this sort of shift before? I know Wilber speaks of peak experiences. I’m wondering 1) where to take this right now, if anywhere, and 2) what it means in terms of meditation practice. Anyways, thankyou very much for listening.

Hi there. How delightful for you!! Thanks for sharing!! Even in reading your description, I was experiencing what you did!! And it is very familiar, but of course, each person’s experience is unique. God is easily bored, LOL !!!!

You might find a fair amount of interest over in the Starseed Sanctuary.

What you are experiencing you might also recognize in my blog Deeper Than The Election.

In a word, your experience is quite typical of the increase in vibrations of body and mind going on in literally millions of people these days. It’s part of the increase the entire Earth herself is experiencing. You might call the process awakening or self-realization or self-transcendence or enlightment or ‘it’s about the heck time!” You might also call it returning to our natural state of being.

Whatever !!!

The most common pattern is for the higher, lighter, more joyful stuff to wax and wane, and stay up longer each time, generally, until it “abides” without effort, not as a practice but as one’s beingness, one’s nature. 

My suggestion for “where to take this right now” is nowhere, because there is less and less “you” to “take” anything anywhere. You’re merging into the Flow of It All, and the Flow will take you where it’s optimal for you to be, and do. Best to relax and cooperate. Attempts to control it are ego trying to co-opt, which is OK too, but can become uncomfortable, and it’s fine to seek comfortable here !!!!!!

What it means in terms of “meditation practice” is that you are almost done “practicing,” hahaha. Or we could say, meditation is now practicing you, not vice versa. Some teachers say the goal of meditation is to have meditation meditate YOU, and you might be nearing that. Of course, strictly speaking, it’s not an attainment, just a happening, but……

When it does happen, one is never out of the meditation state, even in daily life. Consciousness has expanded to be far larger and far more capable of simultaneously grocery shopping and meditating….. etc. 

So, you are indeed, as you described “waking up.” Or as my current favorite teacher, Adyashanti says, the Infinite Consciousness (my term, I forget his) is waking itself up in and as you, it is not the small you waking up. But that’s a complexity……

Yeah, life is a lucid dream. That’s the secret hidden in plain sight….

Hope my feeble words find some meaningfulness in you. It’s hard to talk about these things except in metaphors. Everything I just said is only a metaphor…..

ENJOY!!! (and as my Guides often say when I complain hahaha about being happier and lighter, and all the great synchronicities happening, they say with mock severity “Get used to it!!!”)

it’s interesting, I felt prompted to say something when I read your post, but then I thought I don’t know you enough to make relevant statements. And I didn’t want to clutter what sounds like a clear space for you with more stuff.

So I clicked on your avatar and found this magical painting

that reminds me of my “special place”. It’s a meadow on a hillside where wildflowers bloom among tall grasses no matter what season because its a place in-between worlds. I’ve found two other people so far in my life who have described this field of wildflowers exactly as I see it and who go there in their waking dreams.

I have experienced too many shifts to keep count of them, and too many relapses into more dense spaces than I care to remember at this point.

Good luck with the sudden grace that shifted you. I have found that there can be no landing anywhere in the mind that lasts.
