Grey Just testing URLs in the grapevine. This link will take you to Pelle's blog: http://is.gd/ixdm (I want to see if this gets converted to a link or if you have to copy and paste it.) (9 months ago)

Grey Oof! Just saw this now, Siona.... Yeah, flutters I think it was... no, "flaps", but I don't like it much. "Flutter" was the name to replace "Grapevine". Anyway, I just used "tweets" here because it's more readily recognizable. :) (9 months ago)

So, is the age going to go up as you guys get older? Or is this the Logan's Run of integral? Hm…maybe that reference is a bit before your time.

I think it's bizarre to have age limits on these things. I kind of understand the idea…yet it seems ghetto-izing to me.

I'll admit it bugs me to be disqualified because of my age. I thought I was done with that when I hit 21. “Sorry, we'll have none of that pesky accumulated wisdom here, thank-you-very-much!”

I totally understand wanting to gear something towards a particular demographic, but there are less-blunt instruments to achieve such a goal.

Still, I do wish the organizers all the best success. There is much work to be done in this world.

The age limit is not fixed, I believe it says on the home page that if you want to come then it can likely be arranged even if you are older than 36.

Soon I'll be too old myself for these kinds of events. However, I still think they serve a purpose. As a young adult you can often feel as if you are the only young person at your integral salon, and it can be an overwhelmingly positive experience to connect to people your own age from around the world. The i-Next retreat in California last year, right after the conference, was a success, and hopefully this European version will turn out well too.

I'm not an organizer BTW, simply a teacher and participant.

As long as these age regulated events happen only once a year, and on different continents, then I don't think we need to worry about age discrimination.

Hello Peeps,
Speaking as one of the 'old fogeys' around here, I'd like to reiterate what we used to say about the old guard in the sixties when we were young…
“Kick out the jams.” Which means get the stick-in-the-mud, naysayers out of the way so our emerging brilliance may shine forth.
I see no real problem with events geared toward young folks anymore than those geared for couples, business people, educators or women/men only.
Let's be discriminating, with respect of course (fudge the edge a bit).
Cheers,
Doug

Liz! (and everyone)

The age restriction has been done away with! So you're free to come now

The economy is biting indeed, but I have no idea if that is why they changed the restrictions. I'm not one of the organizers.
