Perhaps I am going out on a limb here, but I am interested in exploring health care from this developmental model. We are going to use Don Becks model to assess the stages of health and health care according to 1st tier and perhaps speculate into 2nd tier memes. This includes ALL aspects of health and health care. I will have a heading for each meme with sub-headings that will adress these areas: Meme : Definition , World View , and Manisfestations People: Health care needs, health care staus, illness (?) Health Care providers: Treatments, role, duties Self Care: In what capcity do the individuals have to do this? What are the best medical. nursing. natropathic, preventative etc practives to introduce at this time? Policy: What, if any policy issues are needed here? { Money, free market, governmental responsibility} These are just a few ideas..please add anything that I might have missed or if you think that I am way of the mark. I will start. Happy brainstorming friends! Sorry that this is so assignment like……. You can get basic information from www.wie.org/spiral/ Add your email address and open up a free trial of interactive model for SDi. Thanks for participating! Monica |

I am all for developing developmental models in all areas of application. I’ll need some time to process some of this. I am on the WIE mailing list, and know about K. Wilber. |

According my to understanding, a meme is a stage of development, in any form, that are fuid and have the ability to “transcend and include” from one stage to the next. I believe that there are many different definitions of this but as it relates to Spiral Dynamics I think that basically this is what is meant. Does anyone else have thoughts on this? |

It's a bit more complex than that. The proper term is a vMEME, defined as the most basic information units in our collective consciosuness that transport their views across our minds (straight out of Don Becks' SDi book). |

g'day, in light of the definition posted on Wikipedia that fernando pointed out, it seems another heading is necessary in the framework for discussion. That is v-meme (not sure how to make a small elevated v) |
