Hi Jon,
thanks so much for the ideas and for replying so quickly. Let's hope this has helped with breathing new life into the pod.

You've reminded me of the KISS principle which is particularly effective in presentations. You know? Keep It Simple Stupid.

Luckily integral theory lends itself very well to simplicity. Actually, I heard an interesting talk on TED about how simple, elegant theories tend to be true. There's a correlation between truth and beauty.

Anymore brilliant ideas for the pod?

Best,
Katherine

Hi Katherine, nice to see you again...been awhile.

Glad also that you are going to add some new life to this pod which I value greatly and which had receded to vanishing point in my awareness.

It's always tricky seeking a balance between the lowest common denominator and the vision-logiqued-out integralites in situaions like this and I have been there before....

Suggestions...

*Do not put too much into the workshop....I have given an exegesis of structure-states that I thought would last three quarters of an hour but lasted 2 hours and left me audience shell-shocked.....

*I may suggest you start with where folk are cognitively, say level of existential self, then step down developmentally using concentric circles, to show how we got here....then show where we are going briefly, using subtle, causal, nondual....but briefly...

*Map this onto Spiral Dynamics and bring the four quadrants into the equation in terms of LL culture and maybe leave it at that for the quadrants unless you have time to address the relationship of the psyche to neurophysiology (in which case i recommend Damasio and Le Doux for such stuff)...and socio-economic lebsenweldt or everyday worldspace.....

*Use loads of colour in yr diagrams and have plenty of them.

*Put in at least one experiential exercise and have a few more waiting in the wings in case they get bored....

Hope this proves of value....best of luck...Jon xx

      Hi all,
I thought I'd see if I could inject some new life into this long neglected pod and at the same time appeal to all of you for some ideas...I'm giving a talk about integral psychology at a local integral salon in a few weeks. Some of the audience will have read Wilber and have a fairly sophisticated understanding of Wilber, to some it will be their first exposure. Likewise with psychology, some will know plenty, others very litte. I'm looking for your ideas about how you would introduce integral psychology to a group like this. Of course I'll go over the four quadrants and developmental lines etc. But what else? Any brilliant ideas?

Thanks,
Katherine

      Hi all,
Durwin has asked me if I would take over administration of this pod because he has been too busy lately with his dissertation and other commitments.

I'm hoping to get this thing fired up a little, so we can benefit from the incredible amount of wisdom and experience we collectively have about the topic of integral psychotherapy.

What I'm wondering is if you, any of you, have clients who are second tier? And if so, how does it affect the therapy process? Do you find there are fewer existential concerns? Less death anxiety?

Obviously we have to be very careful here about confidentiality, but I'll leave that in each writer's capable hands.

I'm also wondering about existential questions of meaning making and life purpose when seen from the integral level. How is one's meaning making different once at the integral level? Susanne Cook-Greuter's pieces on integral naked are particularly fascinating in regards to this topic if anyone's interested.

So these are some questions I had in mind. Thought I'd toss them out to see if anyone's interested in exploring. Then I'll chime in my thoughts.

Best,
Katherine

      Thanks Durwin for your answer,

I know it's sometimes difficult to make these pods live. There are so many questions and development that could be done with this one, that I felt frustrated.

I know it takes time and I'll try to be patient.

And good to have Katherine into the admin.

Hello there: Given the intensity of committments in other areas of my life that require my attention, I have asked Katherine to become more involved as admin for this experiment in integral psychotherapy community building. Thank you, Katherine!

Regards,
Durwin

HI Patrick: I hear what you are saying. I feel some responsibility for this state of affairs, and yet am only too aware of how challenging and busy my daily life is at the moment.

I don't have an answer right now -- except that I appreciate you sharing your feelings....since that is a step towards more authentic dialogue for all of us.

Hello to all of you,

I feel a bit frustrated by the quietness of this pod. The focus, Integral Psychotherapy, is quite pertinent and important, but there seems to be a difficulty for thoughts to build and budd. This is certainly the case in many pods and I'm certainly also accountable for that.

I just thought I shared my frustration, as I thought this pod was a great idea. I hope it does not stay a potentially interesting place, but that it becomes a truly inspiring place.

I was wondering if the fact that it may involve some quite intimate revelations, about us or our clients, we felt kind of restrained! Then I thought that it could be a closed pod so we could share deep therapeutical experience. I'm not sure it's a good idea - just wondering.

Patrick

This thread involves thinking about form / structure issues for our posts. I have one idea to share to start, which is that one of the great things about the internet as a forum is the ability to link.
So, when you prepare a response or thread post, think of putting at least one link ino your post, if you can, to some resource or outside content, or even within Zaadz...wherever...

Cheers,
Durwin

Hi Durwin and all - many thanks and bows of gratitude Durwin for getting this up and running. I hope it will provide a way for us to move the field forward with blogs, posts, research and some informal Integral supervision

Blessings

Elliott
