Hi Vivian: His dissertation is 12 MB and I have had trouble e-mailing it to people. I do not know how to post a large file here. Also, not sure it is ethical for me to do that here (but I don't really know). I think perhaps what I'll do is let Mark know that folks are interested in his work, and would he like to join the pod...then people can approach him directly rather than me being a go-between...
Cheers,
Durwin

      Hi Durwin,

Yes please re: your offer to send Mark Forman's dissertation. Is it possible for you to put it on the Bulletin Board or something so others on this pod have access to it?

Cheers,
Vivian.

PS. I just got my copy of the Counselling & Values issue focusing on integral articles. Looking forward to reading yours.

      Hi Orit:
Thanks for your thoughts here.

Re: resources, Mark Forman's dissertation on integral psychotherapy is particularly awesome, imho, and he is currently turning it into a book...Iif you are interested in taking a look at a copy of the dissertation, let me know via direct message. It's a 12 MB file, but I have figured out how to e-mail it. And anyone else for that matter...I really recommend his dissertation as excellent work. It gave me faith that we could actually do this thing! Of course, it is an academic-type thing....which is why he is currently turning it into a more user-friendly resource for folks.

By way of introduction I wanted to say how glad I am that Durwin sprouted this pod, and the discussions have been thought provoking, so thank you all!

The title of this post is really the main question that has come up for me. What is Integral Psychotherapy?

Some of my homebaked ideas are about attending to all four quadrants in the session, either directly or indirectly; promoting growth in all four quadrants, (which also includes awareness of the possible limitations of psychotherapy and of our knowledge/capacity in our area of expertise, and the need to refer (this can be expanded into another post)); and attending to our own awareness/growth/development.

Somehow I also keep coming back to the importance of promoting an awareness practice, which often is the essence of the session, and to Nondual wisdom as a map for my work.

These are just some thoughts off the top of my head.

A quick search lead me to:
What is Integral Psychotherapy - on YouTube
Integral Psychotherapy - on Wikipedia

and there's more that I'm still sorting through. But I would love to hear what this means to you, how you understand it, and how you use it in your practice. Also, if anyone has any more resources to recommend that would be fantastic.

:)
Orit
