Early this week, the clinical results on the Full Strength Study were presented at the ISSN conference.

I'll post up more specific results as the research team at Oklahoma University gets ready to publish the full study to the scientific community.

For those of you who're interested, here's the press release - the preliminary results are simply amazing. At the very least check out the bullets below!

Clinical Study Shows Full Strength® Nutrition Shake
Builds Muscle, Reduces Fat, Lowers Cholesterol

New Study Conducted at University of Oklahoma and Presented
at the International Society of Sports Nutrition Conference

GOLDEN, Colorado, Jun 15, 2007  – A new research study released this week at the
International Society of Sports Nutrition Conference in Las Vegas, shows daily consumption of Full Strength® Premium Nutrition Shake during a 10-week program outperformed 10 weeks of exercise alone.

The study, performed in the Metabolic and Human Body Composition Laboratories in the
Department of Health and Exercise Science at the University of Oklahoma, indicated that all the participants consuming Full Strength combined with exercise experienced a reduction in
cardiovascular disease risk factors by: significantly reducing  total cholesterol and triglycerides, a decreased LDL/HDL and total cholesterol/HDL ratios, notable increase in cardiorespiratory fitness, improved body composition and enhanced strength.

According to the chief scientist for the study, Dr. Jeffrey Stout, “The results suggest that
sedentary adult men and women (25 -45 years) adhering to the American College of Sports Medicine exercise guidelines with an ad libitum diet (consumed food when and what they wanted) for 10-weeks can significantly improve all factors measured for physical fitness
and health.”

Highlights of the study indicate statistically significant results in Full Strength + Exercise group compared to Exercise only alone, such as:
    • 46% greater reduction in body fat percentage
    • 50% greater increase in muscle mass
    • 78% greater drop in total cholesterol
    • 24% drop in total calories with an ad libitum (at will) diet
    • 50% greater increase in endurance performance

“In addition to training, providing nutrient dense Full Strength Nutrition Shakes with an ad
libitum diet, was significantly better than exercise alone for improving muscle endurance,
lowering total cholesterol, and decreasing fat percentage and fat mass while increasing muscle mass. Based on nutritional analysis, I believe the significantly better results were due to Full Strength improving the participants overall diet.  Therefore, consuming a Full Strength daily
appears to be an effective minimal nutrition intervention to improve diet and the benefits of
exercise for adult men and women,” said Stout.

According to Shawn Phillips, founder of Phillips Performance Nutrition, and creator of Full Strength, “With half the calories from premium proteins that help build strength and the other half from carbohydrates and essential fats providing the fuel for strength, Full Strength’s
proprietary Performance Balance Technology unlocks the full potential of the nutrition shake.”

Full Strength features a precision release formula which delivers 40 grams of high quality
proteins, 25 grams of a sustained-energy complex carbohydrates, 5 grams of essential fats for peak performance, along with a distinctive blend of micronutrients including antioxidants,
probiotics, vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber.

Phillips, a pioneer in the meal replacement/nutrition shake market, revealed that he created Full Strength to address the need for premium nutrition in the marketplace. Full Strength consumers boast of up to 3 or 4 hours of satiety per shake, and Phillips is quick to add, “Taste is all
important, for regardless of how nutritionally-powered a shake is, it’s the level of physical
pleasure that you derive from enjoying it that determines whether you stick with it or not. Full Strength is crafted as a masterpiece of nutrition and satisfaction, with the taste of a milk shake and the nutrition of a perfect meal.”
