Hi SherryJ ~ I hadn't heard of Serving Humanity but would suggest that you place this in Books and on your home page on interests. Once you do that you can push the link on your page & find others that have read it. You can put a review on it there as well.

I found a website http://masterdk.com/ and found the Atlantean lore site. I found Akashic Records & chose that site. I recommend finding words in onelook giving an array of dictionaries but do understand that to gain the clarity from that book the awareness is probably different after 10 years. I don't have that sort of discipline myself, but respect those that do.

Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian
noun A vegetarian who does not eat any animals, but does eat eggs and dairy products.
We don't have a current topic going on here but on this "room" Integral Veg*n Posts, pick any topic from here... even if its on the bottom and they are relevant to have chats on over and over.
Thanks for coming here & I look forward to talking to you more.
To healthy eating & enlightenment.

I am a new member & a lacto-ova vegetarian for the second time in my life (this time forever - I am 56). Has anyone read Serving Humanity by The Tibetan Dwjal Khul? He states that per Atlantean lore, one must be a vegetarian at least 10 years in order to read the Akashic Record without error.
Love, Sherry

Thank you HummingBird and Lee for your warm welcomes!

I am super excited to look into different groups on Gaia. I love discussing various philosophical topics such as psychology, religion, veganism, the earth, and more. I am also very much into music and theatre. I hope that helps in the suggestion-making process. (:

As for a day in the life of a vegan -- it's difficult to describe what I eat on a day-to-day basis, as my meals are constantly changing. However, I can tell you what I ate today:
Breakfast - organic flaxseed waffle w/ organic maple syrup & fresh berries
Lunch - veggie chick'n pattie sandwich & a big salad
Dinner - baked tofu (with soy sauce, nutritional yeast and sesame seeds) and jasmine rice - all wrapped in collard greens, with a sauce (made from tomato sauce, plum vinegar, garlic, olive oil and various spices) on top.
Random snacks - apple, banana and other fruits

Hope that helps! Oh - and yes, I would love to plant a garden. I'm actually currently in the process of planting one.

~Nirel ☮

      Hi Everyone,
I've been a vegetarian my whole life and have recently (over the past few years) gone vegan. I chose to become a vegan because I feel it is beneficial to my health, the animals and the environment. Also, I just enjoy this lifestyle. (:

I'm new to the Gaia community, so I have been looking for groups that I might find interesting. Any suggestions?

I'm open for discussion, as I love talking about why people go "veg", exchanging recipes, etc. - so please feel free to reply to this post!

Peace & love,
Nirel (:

Hi there,
I'm a vegetarian and have been for 17 years now (more than half of my life). I've grown up with vegetarian parents who experimented with various diets and bought organic food exclusively (they still do). Until I went to high school they cooked macrobiotic mostly (my dad did, he is the one cooking in my family). So as a kid, sea weed, tamari, sesame "salt", miso etc were familiar cooking ingredients and seemed total "normal" to me. I guess my grand-mother provided some balance to that by cooking traditionally German ("rheinisch") food for me and my sister. My parents have never forced us to be vegetarians so we were allowed to eat meat and there was even a time when my sister and I insisted they cook it for us and they did. I have never liked meat much though so giving it up at age 15 came only natural. Two years later, also at age 15, my sister followed as well. So the only ones in our house still eating exclusively non-vegetarian were our cats.

I had after several years of having been a lacto-ovo vegetarian gone back to including seafood in my diet (although I rarely ate it), so have my parents, by the way. But a few weeks ago I decided to ban sea food once again and let's see how it works. It was actually after preparing fresh shrimps here in Sri Lanka which tasted yummy but left me totally disgusted because preparing them made me realize more that these were actually living beings that I decided to go back to lacto-ovo (meaning dairy and eggs are included in the otherwise purely vegetarian diet). I felt that if I am disgusted preparing something, I should be disgusted eating it, too (I usually never prepared seafood myself but only had it when eating out).

I'm not a radical vegetarian but for me it's what works. :)
And I love cooking and eating so I'll be happy to join in the discussions around these topics!
