Thanks for the post. I am a fan of macrobiotics as long as it is used in concert with other proven prevention strategies.

I had the honor of taking care of Muchio Kushi’s wife and daughter while a medical student at Harvard. Unfortunately, both women had cervical cancer as they hadn’t gotten pap smears. Muchio said they got cancer because they weren’t adherent enough to the diet, which made me sad to hear. There is no need to blame a woman suffering from cancer.

So get a pap smear along with your yummy macrobiotic food!
