I don't know too much, just that my holistic practitioner just gave me progesterone cream (natural ingrediants) called "Uber Balance" (www.uberbalance.com) to balance out my estrogen, as I have endomitiosis and am hypothyroid and am trying to get pregnant and maintain that pregnancy. Hope this helps, or at least is interesting.

Thanks for the post. I am a fan of macrobiotics as long as it is used in concert with other proven prevention strategies.

I had the honor of taking care of Muchio Kushi's wife and daughter while a medical student at Harvard. Unfortunately, both women had cervical cancer as they hadn't gotten pap smears. Muchio said they got cancer because they weren't adherent enough to the diet, which made me sad to hear. There is no need to blame a woman suffering from cancer.

So get a pap smear along with your yummy macrobiotic food!

Take care,
Sara/Yogini

      Hello everyone
I am a physiotherapist/somatic/energy/craniosacral bodyworker (labels limit so much!). I started getting interested in health, healing and spirituality since I was about 15. Started out with alot of energy work and complementary therapies and then for some reason my intuition told me to go into physiotherapy (physical therapy in the states). And ever since then I've seen the bigger picture of getting into a more integrative mode of healing, combining the arts and science of healing.
I'm starting my masters in physiotherapy next year and hopefully will be doing my research into craniosacral therapy in headache treatment.
Guess that is enough of an intro. Hoping to just connect and interact with people with similar interests and passions.

Namaste

      Greetings, all.

Adrenal fatigue was a factor in my wellness crisis a few years ago, and restoring kidney qi balance (as Therese has spelled out) was key. Another complement focused on nourishing the spleen qi.

In addition to acupuncture, herbs and moxibustion, which had a positive impact within a month and it built from there, it was also important to support those with other lifestyle practices.

For example, I shifted from certain foods that weakened kidney and spleen qi, and chose others that nourished them. I nixed all sorts of icy things and replaced them with warmer things, for example.

I also had to SLOW DOWN and adopt more nourishing habits and practices -- something that those of us who end up with adrenal fatigue sort of forgot to do along the way. As a friend recently said to me, "If I don't go to it (stillness, quiet), it comes after me." Our bodies will ultimately make us do what we're refusing to do.

Slow-down practices included shifting from more depleting excercise to things like walking, tai chi, qigong (the taiji component of it), breathing properly, meditating, etc.

Qigong and tai chi are very qi restorative in and of themselves, with interesting results coming out of various studies on the positive effects in cases of depression, fatigue, etc.

This sort of fatique seems to be on the rise in our culture, actually, so sharing information in this pod and elsewhere is an enormously positive thing.

Sincerely,
Jamie

My main question with supplements is if they are regulated by the FDA. Both Integrative Therapeutics and Shaklee are, which means they have much greater quality control than other supplements. Supplements are otherwise sold a "food" and do not necessarily have in each capsule what they claim.

Anyone with experience with Shaklee or Integrative Therapeutics? The latter line includes Tyler, Phytophamica and Vitaline.

      Hi!

For me this issue has a lot to do with presence - at least from one partner. To be really there with myself and the other. And this will automatically lead to what is described in this MEBES program - it leads to alignment/synchronization of mind and body/emotion.

Most of the time most of all people are not there. Avoiding what is really going on in them and therefor drawing the energy out of body-mind; and compulsive thinking occurs, to 'solve' the insecurity which results out of that (I highly recommend David Deidas writings about this topic!).

When we get present again, stay with what we feel, what the partner feels, stay - and not try to 'manage' everything - then closeness and love will arise from under the cover of the daily turmoil. As Monica describes it with 'being under stress', which leads mostly to more unpresence, because something is going on, which we want to avoid - and then we go away from us - and of course others too (if there are actually 'others', which can be a new topic :-).

so looking for hormones, affairs, new partners for me only deals with symptoms. it is much more about getting present with us, then with the other person, then step into our unique individual flow of life.

My experience is, the more I invest into this, the more happy, the more content, the more energized and loving I get. And the more sexual I become, when I feel sexual; and the more in peace I am, when it is not there

Markus

Juice Plus does their best to use organic Fruits and Veggies, but the truth is that the products are not Certifed Organic. Until a company takes the step to do this, they are not fully committed to this organic standard. MiVitality , from Australia, has a fully Certified Organic green and probiotic product. Pure Synergy, I think, is also Certifed Organic.

Adrenal fatigue is linked to Kidney Yang Deficiency, in that the Yang aspect of the Kidneys includes the entire endocrine system.
Also, the AD-Renal (added to the renals) helps to remind us of this connection.
There is no Adrenal meridian, but we take the Kidney Yang pulses to evaluate the degree of health in the adrenal glands.

Licorice Root extends the life of the cortisol that we secrete when stressed. This then increases the length of time between these cortisol secretions and thus helps to reduce the overall amount of cortisol impact to the body.

3-5 pm is the time in which the Urinary Bladder meridian is supposed to be the most acitve, the strongest. That Meridian (the Leg Tai Yang channel) is the channel the regulates the amount of things you DO in a day. So for the people who "do too much", this is eventually going to become a very difficult time of the day for maintaining high levels of energy.

5-7 pm is the time of the Kidney. This time of the day is winding down, transitioning into the more restful time of the day. If one is racing around, stuck in terrible traffic or on the way to the gym, this could have consequences over time. For athletes, this is a time to rehydrate and do resorative activities (whirlpool, jacuzzi, massage, soaking in epsom salts).

Through herbs and acupuncture, nutrition and reducing stress, the adrenal glands can be restored to a state of health. This takes longer the longer that the adrenals have been overused. The rule of thumb in natural medicine circles is APPROX (key word) one month of treatment for every year of symptom expression.

PCOS , from a Chinese Medicine point of view involves a deficiency (maybe Pancreas or Kidney) and a form of Excess, (stagnation of the flow of energy, and building up of fluids -- mucus, phlegm as it begins to solidify). After accessing a Chinese Medical underlying diagnosis that defines the basic deficiencies and Excesses, we treat through a combination of herbs to dissolve cysts and acupuncture to restore the flow of qi, blood and body fluids. If you have had a cyst burst, you know how important it is to prevent them from forming.
