Integral Post-metaphysical Spirituality

What paths lie ahead for religion and spirituality in the 21st Century?  How might the insights of modernity and post-modernity impact and inform humanity's ancient wisdom traditions?  How are we to enact, together, new spiritual visions – independently, or within our respective traditions – that can respond adequately to the challenges of our times?

This group is for...(more)

This is where the locals meet when they're not inquiring, deconstructing, or re-visioning the great traditions. A rustic, slightly seedy little place, named after its dishwasher.

psychology departments somewhere

I remember two psychology teachers, teaching existential psychology at college in Utrecht (Holland) who still didn´t have any idea of Heidegger´s shameful nazi past and corruption, and that during the heated debate launched by the chilean historian Victor Faria, 1979.
hahahhahahah

God X, what are you talking about now ???  ;-).

Hey, tell I tell you about a conversation I had a few weeks ago with one of the big honchos at Berkshire-Hathaway? ;-). How I ended up with him is beyond me, however he sits in the seat right below Ajit Jain who's Warren Buffet's right hand man.

None of our talk sounded like the legend Buffett believe me.

These dudes are big time gamblers with California earthquake insurance. They have a  model which supposedly guarantees them a big profit especially if there is no Quake. Strictly cash-flow. How much cash can they get with the minimal of insurance. Roll the dice man. ;-).

Lloyds plays a similar deal.

Interesting take on “risk”. Or in this case “uncertainty”.

Warren believes in the Jain.

I can't play this game, I don't have the cash. ;-)

How yeah doing ?

Gaddy

Hi gaddy

THX for some reality show here.

what the f^^^^ are you doing in company of such sharks?
hahhahhahah
question: ladies and gentlemen, what is the likelihood for a quake of 7, 5 +  magnitude in south california the next decade?
50% will they answer of course, that´s the way regulars perceive teh creepy world of probabilities.

Now if you say the next thirty years, then the nonlinear - logistic like- curve (Weibull model) reaches 100%. Vey easy this exponentiation trick.

Uncertainty, the common nightmare of each of us.
in latin: mortem certa, hora incerta (death is certain, the time of it unknow)
camman boys, let´s make mucho dollares, this is a gift of the Lord.

The Renaissance Medicis of Florence were expert at that. I think they hired a mathematician called Cardano to compute probabilities for the next coming wave of oriental plague or something. hahahhahah

I can hear its  sound in world politics vibrating in echoe thru teh ages: money dinero, soldi, argent, flous, bakshish, tavarij, Yuan djin, hahahhahahha

I should have followed a career in financial maths style John Nash or Andrey Kolmogorov at selling bullshit forecasting.

gad you are a creep!!

hahhahahahh

Hey X !

According to Frank Night, the American Guru of such things, the difference between Risk & Uncertainty is that risk is when you know the odds and uncertainty is when you don't.

My thesis (today) is that religion, or as the cool guys say today - spirituality, is really about “uncertainty”.

Now, as they tell me, probability goes back to our old friend, well,  Cicero. Was he translating an old Greek word? I don't know?

But the human problem is “uncertainty”.  What comes next - what is the future - even that what Adi Da doesn't even know.

As you know, I have been working on this for a long time and of course it relates to me - and in this case, to a Jain. (Kela, where are you?).

Any ideas ?

Gaddy  ;-)

yeas

That why materialistic philosophis are ar the bazar like level. The Faust drama of all ages is just about that. In the end, when getting old and bored of the trivial game of life you are just steering into the mirror and look at a grining face awaiting to be wiped out. Born to lose! ahhahhah

Religion the other corporation offers you to be better off if and so… bla bla bla and the winner will raise from a dead body and watch a greta show of hierophany. it is worth lots of bucks isnt´it?

martin Luther was a kind of an idiot, the roman catholic popes knew much beter about that form of business, ah these  germans… hhahhaha

huu knight G5 takes pawn,

your move!!
