I have based my foundation of faith out of my experiences. I now consider myself to be a Christian, because I believe in Jesus and what he stood for, as well as a compassionate, loving God. I see God in the many incredible experiences and interactions with others I have had, and it is through kind actions and surprising moments that I really feel I connect to this higher being. I see God as more of an ultimate spirit, a presence more than a truly tangible ruler over the universe. I truly believe that if not for my church association, the UCC, I never would have stayed a Christian, however, because it is truly the focus my church has on the Bible’s teachings of social justice, equality, and unconditional love that has led me to my beliefs as a Christian. It is also a church camp that I attend that has really helped me learn and grow in my belief, as I am surrounded my such a presence there through the people that I can’t not believe in a higher being. |

For me, my faith came from constant replays of my death experience. I had been exposed to various religions in my life but none of them really took. They seemed like songs being played out of rythum. The structure was there but the real spirit was missing. The replays of my death experience revealed visual and aural experiences and messages that became a mystery to unravel. As I unraveled the images and phrases, I came to a deeper understanding of what it’s all about. I have always had faith but my faith has deepend as my life progressed along. |

It's interesting, I think I've married my a-theistic and my belief in God. I sometimes think being a-theistic is to move beyond the theory and into the experience. I don't so much believe in God as I breathe God. Ideas are like hearts, we all have one. Take care. Burl |

Even atheists can be moved by “the spirit”. |

Intuition and dreams are the reasons upon which I have based my faith. Taking acid 13 times helped me to frame my perspective of the world, and my love for the “opposite” sex. I also think there are deep, genetic type instructions to our make-up that influences how we manifest. Much like Jung's archetypes. I think we are here on this Earth to unfold a pattern…a very ancient pattern that is not separate from the suns, planets and empty plentitude of space that supports them. |
