Remembering ...

Daydreamer [no longer around] said Oct 21, 2008, 4:32 PM:

This was a blog post that I made, but Nicole asked me if I would like to post it here and I was delighted to!
————————————————————————————–

After speaking with many people here, I cannot help but think back to five specific events in my life where I feel I have been exposed to something supernatural.  I have always been open to these elements in life and welcome them - there are often times when I sense energy that is not positve and work quickly to walk away from it.

With that in mind… my five “experiences” await:

1.)  Childhood
This took place in the same evening.  I had to be around 5 or 6 and I was laying in bed trying to sleep.  The second I opened my eyes, I noticed a shadow of a horse jump over me.  Of course, it frightened me greatly, so I threw the covers over my head and went to sleep.

By the time the next morning came around (those I had no idea it was morning), I found myself in a dream, knowing that it was a dream, but completely trapped.  I had been taken prisoner by the “sandman” and I was in a small boxed room.  It had one window with black bars (and it was sunny outside) and all four walls were painted bright, bright, sky blue.  A man with a beard was there, but did not say anything (hence why I named in the sandman).  I was laying in a bed with brass bars and a light, white blanket.  I tried so hard to wake myself from this dream, but strangely could not.  I was trapped.  I do not know how, but eventually I awoke - and it still frightens me to this day.

4.)  Teenage years
This time I was home alone in my little chalet surrounded by 7 acres of forest.  I had been watching a story on television (made for tv movie) that involved spirits.  During the movie, I was frightened by the sound of an electric shock type noise.  When I turned around, I observed a pinpoint, shining white light bouncing back and forth… ceiling to floor to couch to ceiling to wall to woodstove to ceiling to floor and gone.  Each time it hit, it made the static noise.  I never knew what it was.

3.)  Four years ago
-I lived in an apartment with another good friend of mine.  We were discussing “ghost stories,” as she has had many encounters worth listening to.  The topic came up because we had felt as if our apartment (in a very old portion of town in a very old building) was inhabited by a spirit - one with a sarcastic personality.  During our stories - at least a half hour into it, we started discussing her face to face experience with a man who turned out to be her mother's deceased wedding photographer (long story, ask me another time)… as soon as she mentioned what her mother's reaction was, we started talking about how we both came down with an uneasy feeling.  As soon as we mentioned the uneasy feeling, our lights flickered and three of our shelves attached to our wall in the corner came crashing down.  Needless to say, we were quite frightened and angry.  Those shelves took a lot of work to put up!!!

4.)  Three and a half years ago
-Same apartment.  By this time, I had just accepted that there was something else living with us.  I was off to work, but I never left without my cross necklace.  It was my good luck charm.  However, on this day, I could not find it -and I was angry.  I looked everywhere because I put it in the same spot everyday.  I opened every drawer, every jewelry box, looked on floors, looked on handles that it could have been caught on.  NOTHING.  With a pissed off voice, I turned to face the open air and yelled!  “HEY!  Listen… I know you're hear and I know you like to play games, but this is my favorite cross.  My grandmother gave it to me and I don't think this is funny.  This is MY apartment now and you're just going to have to deal with it.  When I get back from work, I WANT my necklace back!”

Through out the day, the events of the morning disappeared from my head.  I got home and walked into my room ready to change out of my clothes.  The second I stepped into my room, I swear every organ inside of my body dropped.  There it was… my cross… blatantly hanging from the handle on my dresser drawer.  It was if someone had looped it through the handle, neatly placed it so there were no kinks in it, and it was facing forward.

I gulped quietly, turned around, and whispered “thank you.”

5.)  Two years ago
New apartment… this time with my husband (who at the time was still my “boyfriend”).  In a nice area of town, everything quiet, peaceful and on the hill.  Nothing spooky here, right?  WRONG!

Two specific events happened here in the same day again.  My dog (who often gets frightened when new people come around) suddenly ran into her crate.  I looked at her and asked her to come out, but she wouldn't move.  Then I watched her.  Her eyes fixed on something (that I could not see) and followed it.  She watched slowly and followed it midline from the bedroom door way to the window.  Of course the first thing I thought was “C'mon.  You're scaring my dog.”  And of course I thought, “Why again!?”

Later during the day, I wanted to take a nap, so I curled up under my cozy quilt and slept.  About an hour later, I heard a noise that woke me up, but I was so intensely groggy that I couldn't focus.  Now, if you know me well enough, you know that I sleep with the covers all bunched up over my head - I do not like sleeping with any light interference.  I half opened my eyes and through my grogginess and hazy sleepy gaze, I saw a man at the end of my bed.  He was an old man - white hair - with glasses - and was wearing a red sweater.  He resembled my husband's grandfather, but I knew it was not him because his features were softer.  But, for some reason I could not keep my eyes open even though I could feel my heart beat faster - and I went back to sleep.

So far, this is all that has occured for me.  The most recent event was the philosopher dream I had and I really believe it is because I have become a part of Gaia and have accepted this side of my life again.

Thank you so much for posting this here!

You must have had further thoughts since blogging. Is there anything else you would like to share with us about what these experiences mean to you?

Love,

Nicole

I certainly have opened up to the possibility of anything… sometimes I openly talk to whomever may be listening … I let them know they are not alone and that my home is THEIR home!

Open minds and open hearts lead to open worlds…

I can relate to this. I have had more than my share of ghostly and other supernatural encounters. It's all a part of the rich tapestry of life. If we view them with wonder, instead of fear, they can be great learning experiences.

i was doing a short stint at this hotel in the early '80's as a night cleaner and one night at about 4am i was cleaning a washroom in one of the dining rooms when all of a sudden……………..

the room turns to friggin' ice! (it was summer). well let's just say that i started humming jesus loves me and got the hell out of there as fast as i could…..yup, there was definitely some presence there and i can't say it was of the good sort. now, that experience didn't change my worldview or anything but it has enabled me to keep an open mind about such things….

who knows, only the shadow's perhaps………..boo-haha…….lol

Thanks for the link and for both pieces of input!

Someday, I am actually hoping to experience more encounters … I am more in tune with it as I believe it exists.
