Perhaps the answer is yes? Jesus God or Man and Jesus as Man and God. I think Christ is what we can become in potential. Chrisitan mystics say that Christ is the evolutionary potential in human beings as well as all of Nature. I would also claim that God, who is deemed to be INfinite, does not exist side by side with His and Herself hence creates the illusion (maya) of limitation. We are much to caught up in our heads, our egos. It's the ego we have to transcend. Difficult...but illusions are difficult to give up. The name of my Goddess, Sophia, reflects this. The name has the mathematical concept of "Phi" written into it...and Phi is an infinite number, never ending. And, Her signature? In everything in Nature, including ourselves. Hence, Nature is birds and bees and coconut trees. And, Nature is Essence. Nature is the Self, Brahman, if you're inclined to Hindu or Yahweh if you inclined to the Western mainstream. As one of the Upanishads says, "It is above, it is below...it is indeed this entire world, and when one knows this, one knows bliss in the self." Or, as a Native American chant sang, "The birds, I become it, the mountains, the forest the trees, I become it." The All is in us and we are in the All. Take care. Burl

Man is anthropocentric, and does not appreciate that God could have a separate project or other concerns. God may even embody Himself among His creatures, but it does not necessarily suit His purposes to reveal Himself to them as they would wish it, or to explain every detail of existence. If God exists, surely He knows it, and from His perspective the question is only what is serviceable in His communication with man.

Men forget that their minds are limited, in fact most people can think only about their sense experience in a narrow window, and they try to dominate or drown out this sense experience. They don’t even have a mental category for an advanced individual who could approach them personally. Instead as they seem to congregate at the feet of gurus, or the Lord as Jesus or perhaps Buddha, they were really looking for an organization, and further, a place where they may be granted power as they conceive of it over the unknown, as they are in their personalities without the necessity for major transformation.

There may be many reasons why the Maker would allow Himself to be killed by His own creatures. First, He may need to feel it deeply in His spirit, that it was always right that a barrier be set in place, whereby some souls rise to the human sphere, where others must remain as animals. The creatures are proved worthless in His sight, killing the only truly friendly and gentle person without asking themselves any of the questions of conscience. Second, the Lord can probably lead an accident-free existence when He embodies, and He may not feel it is right to do so in every lifetime, where some who have noble attributes are yet going to suffer. As they suffer, He may wish for them to remember Him, that He has taken their cup of sorrow upon Himself, He is their Friend, eternally.

To the Lord, the body is something, but it is not that much. From a perspective beyond the body, He can support awareness of many lifetimes that are not lived in sorrow, within a few lives which have been lived that way. God could have chosen to avoid suffering in any lifetime, but if He chose differently, this is a puzzle and an enigma for His creatures. Yet He can return in vigor and youth, embodying at will among men, very easily hidden.

Nicole: the information is out there! And I'm learning something... there's a reason the spiritual teachings tend to be vague, and not give the clear, simple answers we are looking for. Well, actually there are multiple reasons, but the one that matters here is: The search for treasure is actually the treasure.

So I'll only give anyone looking for the science that suggests consciousness and reality are linked- things like studies done on prayer in hospitals, experiments where monks affected change in matter through religious ritual, toys that can read simple thoughts, etc, I'll only put one link in and I'll remind everyone how fundamentally revolutionary is the idea that thought and the material world are in actuality linked in ways that science has philosophically overlooked as a possibility...

As I said on last sunday Jesus was/is our example or divine example if ou like. We are all a part of God or Christ. When we get the enlightment the highest possible on earth we are in the Christ Consciousness and then we are Christ. (In India it is called Nirvikalpa Samahdi). Our whole Universe is the energy of Christ the son of God.
Jesus (Christ in him) said in his time "only through me are you coming to God (or Father)". That means when we have enlightment we are in the Christ Consciousness and through that in God.That is my understanding as far as I know.
Jesus was in his time an exeption,an adept as was Buddha as was Krishna.
In that time it was very hard to reach the high vibration they have had.
Our teacher in Kriya Yoga had to work 20 years to get this hight.But now he is Paramahamsa and that means as high a man can com on earth.
And that`s the way we all can go now or have to if we want to see the "New Jerusalem" our new earth. That was the reason Jesus was living 2000 years ago. He wanted to show us what to do and how to live. We have it much more easy now because the energy who is coming in now from our central sun in our galaxie (from God) is much higher than 2000 years ago and we have many helpers on the other side. Our guarding Angel and more. We are never alone !

If someone, as I have, takes a month to look into all the crazy and interesting things science is founding on the frontier of the interactions between consciousness and the material world-- including the ability of monks, by chanting, to cause differences in the alignment of water molecules and change the water's relative health to humans-- makes it at least possible that Jesus was a supreme adept at a process that in our modern world has largely been lost and forgotten, much to our unhappiness. That other spn that cast him as a 'divine exception' would then have been added later...

Yes, I have heard about Mary being the wife of Jesus. That was really popularised through the Da Vinci Code though it's not a new idea by any means.

Did you know that Magdalen was his wife ? I went to a channeling of Kryon and there spoke Mary (Maria) the mother of Jesus too. She said if Jesus din`t have Magdalen he never would have reached his high energy he had at that time.
The wedding where Jesus changed water to wine was his own wedding.And if he changed it to wine is the next question. Jesus was "Essener" they had no alcohol and no meat.
When he gave the 5000 people to eat he gave bread and grapes and not fish. And still more.
There is a book of Magdalen "The Magdalen Manuscript" by Tom Kenyon and Judi Sion, it`s very interesting ! There are details about Jesus and Magdalen the Church would shurly deni.
Kryon always is telling all the truth will be visible in the near future.
What`s my highest interest is "The scrolls of Quum Ram". They are still hiding them somewhere.

I do believe Jesus was a man like we all.He had many teachers in many countries..He was initiated in many countries. One country was Egypt in the great Pyramide where they tell us today it is a grave of a Pharao.
When Jesus came to the Jordan John the Baptist initiated him and then the energy of Christ came into Jesus. Now he was in the highest conciousnes possible in that time and Christ was speaking through him. Then he was the son of God. Then he could say: I`m one with my father.
Jesus was an example for all humans. We "only" have to do what he lectured in his time.

This question is pointing us in the direction of a potentially more important question.

Is it possible he is both? Is it possible the title of Christ is all of our true nature? Is it possible Jesus is one Example of the divinity possible in all Human Life? A Divine Example, rather than, The Divine Exception?

I do believe Jesus was an amazing Example of what is possible. I believe today many of our Christs, our Shamens, get locked up and/or Margenalized. But as one wise man said, "All the prophets are here now" I believe this is true. Christ is a title, a consciousness, that Jesus was able to hold on to, but all of us are capable of this, and most of us have infact experienced moments of true Christ Consciousness in our lives. The next step now is the allowing the depth and consistency of Jesus's message to really overcome our lives. There is a way to look at things, the past, the present, all religions, all science, and the pieces begin to fit together, I believe the time has come to seek that perspective.

From that perspective the answer to your question would be Yes and Yes Jesus the Christ was Man and God

Jesus was Jewish. The Jews were completely forbidden from worshipping other gods. He was brought up to worship one God only.

I'm not saying that I know exactly what was happening in his mind. Who could? I'm only talking about the context.

Hitler and Stalin were also charismatic men who had their part of the world bowing at their feet. But there does not appear to be any part of God in them, now does there?

Perhaps Jesus was more than just a man after all, and we will all know that for sure when we see Him face to face I imagine.

Perhaps we can't know it for sure, but studies of archaeology and of the history and cultures of the times show gods everywhere, not just the plethora of Greek and Roman gods but most other cultures were also polytheistic...
