I went back in my inbox to see if I could find John's original invitation to me to join this group, and it was back in August 2006.  I remember feeling totally surprised at the invitation, knowing that even though I loved to write and play with words, I did not see myself as a poet!  Yet, I liked John's talking about global peace and empowering humanity with our words, so I said that I would try Empowered by Poetry out and see if we were a match. 

That first week, I felt like I was on cloud nine!  Reading poem after poem and just resonating all over the place with it all!  Feeling totally lifted and inspired and joyful!  That was the coolest gift and still is to me, to have this incredible space to share and receive.  John, always, I have much appreciation for what you have created for us. Much gratitude for all who make up our family here and make this place feel like home.

Another unexpected gift for me, was that I remembered how, once upon a time in my teenage years, I did used to love to write poetry.  Totally forgotten to me, but easily remembered once I felt the inspiration of your words.

I seem to cycle in and out with times where I am more active for whatever reason.  What I do love, is that when I am here, it is a definite pleasure and never feels like an obligation.  I love this space! 

On that note, I think that I will go to bed.  Way, way past my bedtime!  Sweet dreams!

As my four year journey with Gaia comes to an end, I feel so much appreciation and gratitude for the many friends that I have made and especially to John D and his baby, Empowered by Poetry.  Thank you!  This forum has been a blessing in my life.  It has been sheer delight to experience poetry in so many forms, variations and styles! 

In four years, I have come to know this forum as my home.  Although I really haven't been online much this year, I still feel a strong connection to our message to empower by our words and sentiments and to support each other in our creations.

I would love to stay connected with any of you, who are on facebook or wordpress.  I continue to post my blogs and poems there and would happy to keep our conversation going in a brand new space!
