Perhaps we can build a ladder towards light
It's really a game we can play

OK, game on - but you're too late with the first few lines - I've got the first stanza right here:

THE LIGHT LADDER

Tiny dew drops sitting precariously

On the edge of the lilly pad

Sparkle brilliantly,

As kissed by the morning sun,

Where they greet the morning,

An acorn starts to stir beneath the damp mud

A fawn gazed at the frog

Sharing his song with a bluebird.

Ladder of Light / Life

I see each rung that is climbed
On the ladder of light
Is a step closer towards living life

Each rung that is climbed
Is created with a clear mind.
The rung disappears
each time it is climbed
As the moment lives and dies.

There nothing to hold on to
on the ladder of life.

But if you look down to where you have
been. You can hang around
in a thinking dream.
Slip down.down as the what ifs fly by
The truth lost as the thinking rearranges time.

Where hesitation doubt
and fear covers over what was
at first clear. Second guessing
yourself is a sign of fear.

The rungs are created by speaking
the truth of you partnering with yourself
in all you do.

SUNSET

No two sunsets are alike

Bright festoon of clouds and light

Sending colors into night

Ablaze with flash of glory

We observe the majesty

Captured still so all can see

A glimpse of our eternity

Just before the night

So we too are like the day

Early on with bright array

Ending streaks of color play

Never seen again

From morning sun to sunset
Grows the ladder of light
The circle closes and moves into spiral
The watcher sees the play with delight


That picture of a horizon
With sun, sea and cloud
Reveals little of the difference between
A sunrise and a sunset

As GeMeganKatherine and Rose
Weave their words of wonder
I marvel at the flight of light
From a step to a leap yonder

The idea above, as a group poem didn't take hold but I like this theme and want to play with it some more…

Beneath the dirt a ray of Sun
Activates the sleeping one
To mount the ladder toward the light.
Seasons change 
And  rearrange the direction she wil lean.
Rain and wind will challenge her,
To hang on to the ladder.
Her petals open
The day is bright
She's climbed the ladder of the light…
