Joy of Rumi 800+ years

Let us continue to celebrate 800+ years of Rumi as we enter another amazing year!
May the beauty We love, be what We do for Love is who/what WE are in 2008 & always…

Below are some of my favorite quotes, poems, images & cards from, about & with Rumi.
Feel free & invited to share your Joy & Love for Rumi in any way, form & time…

Why Are You So Reasonable?

You are our soul.
You have the face of an angel.
You have given up all thoughts.

The One who gets lost in thought
is looking for a cure for his illness,
but thoughts themselves are the cause of his illness.

Thinking causes confusion.
Don't be a man of thought.
Stay pure and clean.
Become a man of joy and ecstasy instead…

A wonderful short flash Rumi movie - http://www.byregion.net/rumi/

And another Rumi poem “Say I am You” transformed in an exquisite short video…

CUT IT SHORT

You are wrapped up in the self from head to tail.
What are you looking for in yourself?
You're like water in the jug,
encased in earthenware.

Embark on a journey of Love.
It takes you from yourself to Yourself.
And cut the story short, my friend.

I LOVE Rumi!!!!!!   Rumi and Rainer Maria Rilke  (my three r's) are my most powerful influences!  Rumi to me is such a beautiful and enchanted combination of enlightenment, passion, love, harmony, yearning of the soul and body.

Props to Rumi, Kudos to Rumi, Shout Out to Rumi, Thank you Rumi!

Untitled

There's courage involved if
you want to become truth
There is a broken open place   in a lover
Where are those qualities of
bravery and sharp
compassion in this group
What's the use of old and
frozen thought
I want a howling hurt
This is not a treasury where
gold is stored
This is for copper
We alchemists look for talent
that can heat up and change
Luke warm won't do
Half-hearted holding back
Well enough getting by
Not here
- Rumi

The Guest House
This being human is a guest  house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a  meaness,
some momentary awareness  comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them  all!
Even if they are a crowd of  sorrows,
who violently sweep your  house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest  honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame,
the malice.
meet them at the door laughing
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
- Rumi

Breathing
There is a way of breathing
That's a shame and a  suffocation
And there's another way of  expiring,
A love breath,
That lets you open infinitely.
- Rumi

David, Dana, Free Energy and everyone who responded so open-heartedly to Rumi & the celebration of his passionate poetry, timeless devotional love and spirited being & sharing…

What can I say besides quoting one-derful Rumi again and again…

“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems.” ~ Rumi
