The emotions we have are just a response to a learned experience. Other who witness the birth could just a well be appalled or even get nauseated. The openness to the experience is all that needs to be present.

After the delivery of our last child, the 20 something hours of labor, my wife in a amazing feat of love, power, and tenacity, gave birth. I immediately broke down an cried. Oh not in sadness but in the miracle of the transformation of the female body and the new life now in our caring hands and a relief of the stress from the experience.

The hormones present in both the father and mother are largely responsible for the response. In the Bradly Method the whole process in to teach the father that he has an attachment to the child, even though he is not "carrying" the fetus.

Every father should attend the birth of their children's, to truly appreciate the value of life.

Josh

...I just got off the phone with Emily...she's one of my heros too...

...she explanes it as , "I have a womb for rent"...
...she loves kids ...she made like 25,000 with the first and put it all down on a house...then started a Day Care business...she's also taken in 2 foster kids...!!!...

...the pregnancies are'nt hers...neither the egg nor the sperm are related in any way...but it's not just a business propitition...we raised a very loveing careing person...(I am so proud, could you tell?)...she knows the importance of carrying the child in a loveing environment...

...you could say she's a zaadzter at heart...changeing the world one baby at a time...

"she is now carrying her second surrogate baby...the first was for a couple in Australia that couldn't carry a fetus to term...the one now is for a woman in N.Carolina that can't concieve..."

Hi Will, thanks for you reply so quickly. How does your daughter deal with the fact that she carrying someone else baby? How did she feel when she gave birth to someone else child? Is it hard? This is so fascinating; by all mean she's my hero.

In 1994, my wife and I attended the Lamaze or Childbirth class to prepare for our first born child. We watched a series of Childbirth videos. Each childbirth experience brought tears to everyone eyes that attended the class, such beauty that everyone witnessed despite of the bloody glory fact. Most of us were brand new to this experience, we were the first time yet to be parent, so what make us feel the deep emotion by just witnessing a childbirth experience without the first hand experience? Does anyone know why? or does anyone have this experience to share?
