What's Your Top 3 Favorite Blogs?

~C4Chaos said Mar 14, 2006, 3:00 AM:

Kosmic Bloggers,

Let’s use this thread to list our Top Three (3) Blogs. Why only three when there are thousandsof blogs that I read every day, you ask? Consider this as time for reflection. Take your time to pick your top three, then give a brief reason why.

I’ll start…

Rebecca’s Pocket

She’s the blogging goddess who wrote the manual on bodhisattvic blogging without using Buddhist or Integral jargon. Reading Rebecca Blood’s The Weblog Handbook, learned everything I need to know about “blogging with compassion” in one sitting.

Reading Rebecca’s book was an eye opener. Finally, a blogger who understands what compassion means. Her advice on blogging is what I’ve envisioned to do with my blogging—
- to be a “better writer”
- to expand “self-awareness”
- to be a “Critical Thinker”
- to use blogging superpowers “for good”
- and to link with kindred souls

The Dilbert Blog

Dilbert is my Corporate Bodhisattva. Scott Adams’s Dilbert made my Divine discontent a little bearable, amusing even. It made me laugh at the silliness of the corporate domain. It made me ponder on my own pawn-like existence. It inspired me to do my own inquiries. It helped me exorcise my own “demons of stupidity.” Those of us who had the Dilbert Experience couldn’t help but be awed by the Zen-like prowess of Scott Adams. The way he packs humor, sarcasm, and wisdom into three frames of comic strip reminds us how those Zen masters weaved their mystical haikus and calligraphy with flawless strokes of passion and compassion.

Boing Boing

The most popular blog in the world. Cyber activism at its finest. Staunch supporters of The Free Culture and Creative Commons. And it really is A Directory of Wonderful Things.

There. It’s your turn…

I like this kinda  threads.  So easy to contribute without thinking , being creative and what not, yet still feel a part of the community!

I confess these are not my most frequently read, but if i had to be stuck with 3, these would likely be them….

  • How to Save the World - Dave Pollard. Somewhat Leftist. Canadian. Vegan.  Want’s to Save the World, is not so optimistic about it, but is doing what he can anyway.  Kinda like me , but with a moustache and twice the brain cells.  Oh, he doesn’ like KW so much, but I don’t hold that against him…
  • Blog Plate Special - Vegsource.com’s blog on all things veg*n, health and environment.  I know there I’ll always find things that reinforce my ideas.
  • Mind Hacks - Like the book of the same name, covers interesting things related to the brain, mind and behaviour. Actually it’s toss up between that and  Gene Expression. Evolutionary psychology, genetics, human behaviour - rather right wing and controversial tho…

There have been some great blogs mentioned so far and “How to Save the World” is definetely one of my favourites.

Here's three of my faves:
- WorldChaning: models, ideas ,and tools for creating a better future.
- Chandrasutra: social justice, blogging, media and cultural analysis.
- Global Youth Fund: media and action for young global citizens.
