10 Reasons For Bloggers To Get Involved With a Non-Profit

This post exploring reasons for getting involved with Non Profit organizations was written by Dr Mani Sivasubramanian from Money Power Wisdom.

Having my blogging structured around a charitable purpose has helped bring unique advantages, give greater visibility and made it deeply satisfying and enjoyable.

Here’s why you, as a blogger, might want to get involved with a non-profit too.

1. Karma. It’s the abstract, universal law that dictates that you reap what you sow - in the long run.

2. Prospects. Many people enjoy doing business with an organization that supports causes close to their heart.

3. Branding. Countless blogs and bloggers have enjoyed a ‘brand boost’ by being aligned with non-profit causes.

4. Inspiration. By seeing a bigger benefit from your blogging success, you’ll be inspired to work harder and push ahead to grow profits.

5. Purpose. While profits are ‘worthy’, a deeper meaning to what you do is a powerful driving force that guarantees sustainability and longevity.

6. Visibility. You get to leverage promotional activities the non-profit runs across multiple channels.

7. Taxes. In many cases, your expenses towards helping a non-profit will qualify for tax-breaks (but check with your accountant before you do anything).

8. Network. When you get behind a non-profit mission, you’ll quickly find yourself a part of a wide, caring network of like-minded people - with many benefits.

Hello - My name's Simon and I joined Zaadz a few days ago. I was just writing about Deeksha on my blog and it seemed appropriate to also share it here.

Deeksha is a transfer of energy which has been brought into the world by two avatars in southern India, Sri Bhagavan and Sri Amma. It nurtures a feeling of Oneness - connection with “all that is” - in those who receive it. It dampens down the individual ego and encourages us to think of ourselves as part of the wider family of humanity.

The energy is transferred by a laying on of hands, the same as in Reiki or spiritual healing. Indeed, Deeksha itself has a similar healing effect, as well as promoting this helpful change in consciousness.

I've been receiving Deeksha myself for about eighteen months now and have found it a very powerful experience. There have been times when I've found myself transported effortlessly into what Eckhart Tolle might call “the now” - on one occasion, for a couple of days at a time. Spontaneous enlightenment can occur with Deeksha, but for most of us it isn't a quick fix, more a push in the right direction. The lasting change I've found is that I now keep in mind the various spiritual teachings I've learnt on a day to day basis, instead of forgetting all about them for weeks on end. A lot of the time I'm still in my old mindset, but I'm aware now of the way I'm reacting and how it might be changed.

yep. Seattle is my favorite city by far, particularly because of it's location. i like to be close to water, it's only a couple of hours away from Vancouver and Oregon. you get the best of three worlds :)

It's fun to dream anyway! Absolutely. It is always fun to dream………….

Whenever I have allowed myself to dream a bit, such as you have done here, I begin to zero in on a keen clarity of what I do not want in my life and what I do want to experience.

Something absolutely magical happens. It is in those times when I have awakened to making major life changing decisions.

It was a lazy dreamy day ten years ago that I explored dreamily whether I wanted to move to Oregon (OZ)** or not. I felt in the dreaminess - YES! Moved and have been ever so glad!

I think dreaming is a really great life-tool, when not abused.

Mu, I am jealous! I miss Seattle - the last time I was there was for a Kumon conference in 2002 (or thereabouts) so of course I had too little time to stroll around and enjoy the market and other joys. Montreal is beautiful in its own way, but right now it's getting quite grey... soon it will be winter... brrrr
