nonsense! rubbish!

fellow Podwans… let’s use this thread as a lobbying ploy to make our voices heard using this Optimus Megaphone. add your top reasons where why Ken Wilber should include blogging as part of his ILP.

once we have critical mass, we’ll use the permalink of this thread and wield the chains of our compassionate balls to the Bald Philosopher King himself… saving him from taking those illegal street drugs.

it’s only a matter of time Ken… resistance is partial…

Blogging is a supported by a highly-advanced LR structure.  If people who are highly advanced in the UL don’t use it, then it will be left to the devices of those who may wish to use it as a devious means.  Blogging is one of the answers to some of the dilemmas posed by Ken himself in both A Theory of Everything and his recent IN conversation with Andrew Cohen.  That dilemma being the hi-jacking of technology by ethno-centric (and below) consciousness.  If you are world-centric or above and you are not blogging, then you are making it easier for the “wrong” folk to throw their weight around in unhealthy ways.  C’mon Ken… Rollie’s doing it!

If the writing factor is stopping him, maybe Ken could try AudioBlogger instead.  Let's face it - sitting down at a computer and typing/organizing/editing your posts can take a while.  I'd be the first to volunteer to follow him around with a recording device, and I think we'd all just love to hear him ramble.  No editing required.

Audioblogger? neat. but that bald dude could ramble for hours without peeing. but it still would be neat coz we there’s a stop button.

Subject: RE:

I am being portrayed slightly out of context…. Notice that what I am saying I am against is not blogging, but the time it takes to do any sort of personal journaling whether in the form of blogs, hand-written journals, or pissing in the snow. As for blogging itself, I'm totally in favor of it. I essentially agree with Matthew's comments that blogging is a worldcentric technology (teal, to be more precise), and in order for it to live up to its potential more worldcentric people need to inhabit it. My problem is very simple: I ain't got no time.

We are going to try something of a hybrid at KenWilber.com-namely, have a small team of editors blog with and for me. Folks like Corey, Clint, Colin, and anybody else whose name begins with C-like Coolmel…..we are completely overhauling the thing, adding four more sections, each of which has a radically different design-in other words, totally postconventional, as usual. So first, please call off the blog dogs-I am totally for blogging, but me and God have others blog for us.

So there you have it. KW is not against blogging and they (we) are “going to try something of a hybrid at KenWilber.com.” Not sure what this hybrid will look like. But if I have it my way, One Taste would really kick ass in blog form. w00t!

hi mel

So that is true, I wondered if it was. :o)    I am also wondering about the 'puter deficit, as in haves and have-nots and the world open to 'puter haves and the world shut to 'puter have-nots. I just returned from a visit with one of my best friends who has a particularly vicous form of cancer. They have a monthly support group for the people who have this kind of cancer. And she was telling me how wonderful it was to talk to other people who are dealing with the same Big Nasty she is. And she has excellent  family support. But some of the people what we would have called underpriveleged back in college days, live way out in the western par tof our state in tiny rural communities. I suggested a support group online, either here or tribe or yahoo or something. And ya know what? The people without support also were withouit 'puter skills and pc's.

Now there would be a great use of techie brains, teaching the elderly and poor cancer patients how to use pc's so they can beef up their support network. Whaddaya think?

Peace 'n all

hey guys, check it. this thread now is slowly becoming a cult infected with deadly Wiberitis.

it now has an eerie soundtrack complete with chanting in Latin, augmented piano tunes with a techno feel, and androgynous vocals. Check it out.

K DUB WON'T YOU BLOG?
(click to play song)

this song was composed, arranged, and performed by a weird guy with a looong(non)greasy hair named Brondu.

it sticks to your head like a bubble gum. resistance is partial. you've all been warned.

may the Flying Spaghetti Monster have mercy on our souls.

Re: Ken Wilber Will Yield to Blogging

Brondu said Apr 10, 2006, 10:00 AM:

The quest to get Ken Wilber to blog has taken us to many strange places. It has spanned many generations (reference to age differences of the people on posting on this thread) and many nations (one thing is for sure: Leendert is not from around here) and now it has led us, me personally, but us as a collective (in so many ways) to this: a song. So let me break it down for you in a way that will make it clear I have no idea what I’m talking about.

I start off with some eerie, easily alienable tension in the form of piano. When I played that piano part I swear to you it was like the Heavens opened up and God was a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers telling me to move my fingers just so.

I follow it up with a touch of seemlessly integrated repose. This carries smoothly (like a really strong paper thin mint) to it’s inevitable demise. Like a beautiful purple egg shell, cold but admirably lifeless, this intro gives way to something perhaps uglier than it’s container but undeniably alive.

The latin groove took me about four hours to make. That’s a lie.

When it came down to a voiceline I was stumped. I decided to tap into a storewell of injustly segregated consciousness (the consciousness of the white rat who was tried at a congressional hearing for passing consciously-conscious legislature mandating the effective of 2002 release of all involuntarily domesticated white rat populations), and the white rat told me: sing deeply, like a MAN!

So while it doesn’t look like it, in a way the white rat inspired me because I did the opposite. Often it is this way with music and culture. There is often an element of animilistic/animistic positive thygmotaxis (opposition reflex) that plays a role in the creation of music. Even our emergant art forms (video games) hint at this broadly-voiced teenage battle cry of ‘stop f**king us over you a**holes’. No different with this song.

So with the voiceline complete (thank you white rats who will forever remain captive) I finished it by retreating to and revisiting (but not regressing to) that piano. That catlike, snake-ish paino. John Cleese would be proud.

Thanks ~C4Chaos. Now hundreds of thousands of people will hear my song! HURRAY!
