Cleansing ........

Rather than going to extreeme measures using all sorts of advanced cleaning practices; my sugesstion for you is to eat RAW CABBAGE in your daily diet. Avoid the desire to add mayonaise to it like in coldslaw....and eat it whole or shredded .... and chew it well. The cabbage is extremely healing for the body; healing stomach ulcers & digestive problems and pain in the stomach. Cabbage helps to expell gas built up in the bowel from saturated fats, additives & preservatives in the foods. Cabbage cures hemoroids and causes the hair to grow more quickly.

A regular practice of cleaning with an enema, is beneficial and exercises the interior muscles as well as the stomach mucsles in the yoga exercise called "Uddiyana Bandha and Nauli" or in other words, "Abdominal Contraction" This involves bending over and expelling the air in your lungs with two, hard exhales; then while holding the air out ...... suck in the stomach in a quick motion and then push it back out...... usually done 8 - 16 times inbetween breathing. Repeat this excercise as you feel comfortable. Beginners usually do it three times. This tightens the stomach and exercises the interal organs. It helps with cleaning if a bit of water is still inside the bowel. You'll love this exercise!

..................CAUTION ! Practicing these tecniques may increase your SEX drive.

In my studies I have come across many forms of cleansing techniques. It is important in the practice of Kriya to keep your system clean, so the subtle energies can better transfer from your lower chakras up the kundalini and to your crown, and back again. It's all about the movement of energy, and the less crud you have blocking this energy, the easier it is to practice your kriya, and have quicker results.

Some forms I recommend are as follows:

The enema- allowing warm water to pass into your rectum, feeling the lower intestine, and then relieving your self of it. You can do this as often as you like, try holding it in as long as possible, you will be amazed at how light you will feel after regular daily practice.

The Flush- Drink a large cup of oil, this to the same thing as the enema, but for your stomach, be near your toilet, as it will induce vomiting. Also a very safe a wonderful way to quickly clean your system out.

I personally have practiced both these cleansing techniques for many years, on a daily basis, and find them very effective. It is important to back this up every month with a week long fast, usually on raw cabbage works best for me. Over time, you will feel every subtle energy flowing through your being every moment of the day, and be in constant communion.

Hi there, I have been, off and on, reading a book on Kriya Yoga. I was trucking along fine and found may interesting thoughts.. but I have to admit, I feel a little strange about the cleansing techniques. Some of them just don't seem safe. Such as the stomach cleansing- where you train yourself to swallow 3-5 ft of cloth and then pull it out of your mouth.

Are these techniques still used, or is it an old practice that has fallen by the wayside? Are there different newer techniques that might be a little more sound?
